I could've sworn I had reviewed this music video, this song is a total jam and one that the gay clubs in Birmingham have been playing recently. It's one hell of a grower of a song, one that goes off in the clubs now. Truly, I believe it was before its time, and as the years go by, more and more people are appreciating the music video and the song itself. In true Christina Aguilera style, the lyrics are dirty but it's wrapped up in this classic ode to the 40's that we can't help but love in every way. Such a long timespan between albums must mean that this new one is going to be absolutely incredible; well we can sure hope, can't we? She's released a few songs here and there which have been successful, I truly think she could make a killer comeback; so we all need to get ready for that. This song didn't do as well as we all thought it should've done, and every time we look back at it, we're surprised it didn't hit number one all around the world. It was written by Christina Aguilera and Linda Perry.
Directed by Matthew Rolston, this music video is heavily influenced by the 40's both in style and concept. It has a World War II theme about it with many odes including a tribute to The Andrews Sisters; as well as pin-ups and posters such as Westinghouse's "We Can Do It!" poster, inspiring figures included Judy Garland, Betty Grable, and Rita Hayworth. There is also product placement from Campari; whilst there is also a guest appearance from So You Think You Can Dance season two winner Benji Schwimmer; as well as his sister Lacey Schwimmer.
It's such an incredible music video that it's shocking it didn't win tonnes of awards back in the days. It was nominated for an MTV VMA for Best Direction but didn't win. Honestly, this is solid from start to finish with Christina Aguilera giving it her all.
The opening scene, which can be seen throughout, is completely amazing. There's three Christina Aguilera's together, forming a trio as they sing to the servicemen. The choreography is on point, and she fully brings it in every way. Taylor Swift did something similar in the "Look What You Made Me Do" music video, which just proves this visual and the song was way before its time - how did this not go viral?
Other scenes are less impressive, with this awesome female singer selling sex whilst giving us throwback scenes. It really is a great watch from start to finish. There's a full-on dance scene with the troops, as well as a scene where they are in a plane hanger. We could just imagine how Christina Aguilera performed this song during her tour - now that is something we're so sad we missed out on.
Overall, this music video is completely polished. A lot of hard work clearly went into this, and I cannot believe it was filmed in 2007. It's unforgettable and one that should've won multiple awards. And we can't forget about that milkshake scene, just amazing; one that must've been part of the inspiration behind Fergie's "M.I.L.F. $".
Today, I have been catching up with Vocea României Junior (because Inna is a coach), and one contestant stood out completely; Voicu Dumitraș sang this song "Hurt" by Christina Aguilera and it took my breath away. Only a few people can sing and nail that song, and he's now one of them! The original is the best version, as per usual, but I think it's one of Christina Aguilera's more underrated songs, especially considering it's chart placement in some countries, like number 11 in the UK, like seriously? This one is more of a period setting, with a black and white filter for the beginning to establish that. We also hear Linda Perry's voice at the start as the audience are introduced to the circus.
In colour, we see Christina Aguilera get given a telegram; on it, it says "We respect to inform you of the death of your father on the day of 02/09/1947", we then watch a flashback of the time she spent at the circus with her dad as a child, and we see where she got the inspiration to become a circus performer.
Throughout, we watch how her day went, where she saw her father in the audience and even touched his hand at the end of the show where she was being interviewed. We see a few memories, and we see her fall to the ground in front of the circus tent, fully grieving.
This is a passionate song and a brilliant coinciding music video. Christina Aguilera really shows that she's not just an amazing singer, but she's a great actress too. She fully proves herself in this, and she deserves a lot more credit for what she does. I hope that new music is on the way and I hope she releases a global hit that gets everyone talking about her again.
Now this is how you do it! Today is my revisit day, and this song has been stuck in my head all day yesterday. My phone plays my music on shuffle and this one came on as I was on my way to work. It's such a banger of a ballad that it's definitely a classic, one I absolutely adore. Christina Milian pulls off the perfect performance, sexy, sultry and simple; this is a video that would make me want to see her live.
It's almost as if I've just watched someone else, comparing this to "Rebel", I'm kind of unsure I like the direction Christina Milian is heading, although she pulled it back with the release of "Like Me". Her real name is Christine Flores, and currently owns a clothing line, a range of wines and has her own TV show. She is attempting a come back to music to which I am hoping will be the come back that everyone is talking about. Although, I think JoJo has that title at the moment. This song was Christina Milian's second single, charting at number three in the UK. It was written by Christina Milian, Christin Karlsson, Nina Woodford, Fredrik Odesio and Henrik Jonback.
The video has four rooms, in which Christina Milian has different styles and colours to work with. In every room she pulls off the outfit perfectly, and performs on point. The video was directed by Billie Woodruff.
The choreography is performed in sync, which is exactly what we come to expect when it comes to Christina Milian. She looks relaxed and she's prepared to give this song everything she's got because this is a song she really cares about and loves.
It's totally relatable to the song, and although there is no narrative, we don't need one. She's a different person in every room, style wise. It works brilliantly, and although there doesn't seem a lot to comment on, it's because it's a pure performance piece directed amazingly. This is why Christina Milian used to be on top form before, and if she revisits this type of energy, she will get back to having chart hits.
Christina Milian is looking for a comeback to music with this EP she has released called 4U. I'm kind of hoping that this is a snippet of what her next album will be like, without using any of these songs, because "Like Me" is the only one I've liked so far, and that song alone should've been a worldwide hit. Christina Milian needs to come back harder than ever, she needs to prove she deserves chart hits once again, because this R&B ballad isn't doing a single thing for her. She over performs and exposes herself a slight too much in this provocative video, which doesn't suit her at all.

The video is not engaging enough, Christina Milian uses all her acting skills to show us the emotion of the song, sultry and sexy, she does her best, but because of the video it doesn't work overall.
The entire set is trying too hard, she almost exposes herself completely in the first few minutes as she nearly falls out of the white shirt she is wearing, which is much too loose for her.
The clothing in the video is nothing exciting or dramatic, nothing quite suits her, other than the ripped jeans. The imagery isn't imaginative, there's nothing that relates to the song, and I definitely don't understand the parachute and Christina Milian's burgundy hair. This is not the Christina Milan we all know and love. I was hoping this video would've been much better. But the only thing I can draw from this is that Christina Milian does her best with what she's been given. Sultry and sexy, she attempts to pull it off as best as she can.
Okay, someone please tell me what I have just watched? This is quite embarrassing, I didn't even realise they had switched Christina Milian into this sexed up woman. This is someone I've always remembered as being sweet and innocent in "Am To Pm". This isn't even done good, although it is the switch we've seen plenty of times, Britney Spears, Chritina Aguilera, Miley Cyrus and Demi Lovato, to name a few, yet their switch videos aren't this badly done. Christina Milian attempts to sex up her music videos in this extremely sexualised song, that has a long suing story to go with it.

She recently returned to music with an EP. She needs a hit that will chart globally, her vocals are stunning, yet she can't be done with music and have this as her biggest hit. Dip It Low was written by Poli Paul, Teedra Moses and John Jackson. Although very catchy, it samples a track called "La Sirena" by Thomas Turino, Larry Crook and Dan Dickey, which put Christina Milian in the middle of one chaotic law suit. It seems everyone sued everyone over this single.
The music video was directed by Matthew Rolston. I totally understand that Christina Milian wanted to sex up her image, she didn't want to be seen as the sweet and innocent "Am To Pm" girl. Yet what this is, is not what should've been. This is just too much.
However, let's start off with the good points... Although I'm not impressed by the sequences, the choreography is performed to perfection, this girl can dance, and boy does she prove it!
That is all the good points I can draw from this though. Kim Kardashian makes her debut in a music video, by being an extra. I didn't even see her during the second watch of this video. A claim to fame for anyone in that video, right?
Anyhow, the black sticky tar / black paint made this video so bad, I hate how she is spun by guys, it's so suggestive of the music industry and how people are being controlled, even though she wanted to sex up her image.
As for the performance side of things, Christina Milian does her best to perform. She shows her sultry sexy side, and yet doesn't really get into the role. She looks uncomfortable and unsure of herself.
Overall, a video I do not want to watch again, but a song that is on my iTunes and does get randomly played now and again, and one I love hearing again and again. However her new songs are so much better, and I hope she releases more in the future. I am hoping for a chart hit in the near future, so she can leave this awful music video behind her. However, kudos for making the video relate to the song, at least, but I don't get the lights on her towards the end of the video when she is dancing, is she some sort of hologram?
Christina Milian is OFFICIALLY back in the music industry. She has only just released her EP, which this song is on, and WOW, this is a hit, if it gets the popularity it definitely deserves. Christina Milian proves you don't knock her down, in this sexy, classy and stylish music video, you won't find anyone better.
Christina Milian has had a nice little break from the music industry. I have followed her career since she first came out with "Am To Pm", I loved "Dip It Low" and I've watched a few of her films. I'm not a massive fan, but I do go out of my way, when I can, to listen to her music, to watch her films and TV Shows, and I am aware of her wines Viva Diva and her clothing range We Are Pop Culture. I also follow her on Snapchat. This song was released on her four-track EP called 4U, it was originally called Like Me with five tracks. EP's are usually a snippet to give to fans to excite them for upcoming music. Although Christina Milian has a lot going on right now, I am really hoping a new album is on the horizon, as we need Christina Milian batting out chart hits once again. Featuring on this track is Snoop Dogg, real name Calvin Broadus Jr. He is a classy, relaxed rapper. He's made it and yet he still performs with style. Although my only problem with this song is that he ends the song. Christina Milian should've repeated the chorus one last time, after his final rap.
Directed by Mike Ho. This music video could've been flawless. It's full of style, imagination and perfection, yet there is one crucial problem and it just gets worse towards the end, but I am so going to overlook it as this should've been a masterpiece.
Full of narrative, the video is off to a good start. Promotion for We Are Pop Culture and Viva Diva is not only unsurprising but something we've seen done before, Avril Lavigne's "What The Hell" definitely comes to mind. The video is set in Milian Heiress Inc., a fictional workplace where Christina Milian is the boss. The start and the opening reminds me a lot of The Saturdays' "Notorious".
The video continues with Christina Milian making important decisions, in her office, in the meeting room, clearly decisions for Viva Diva and We Are Pop Culture. There is also advertising for Christina Milian Turned Up, which is a documentary reality TV series on E! channel.
The twins are included throughout, these twins have been popping up in a few music videos recently, so it'll be interesting where the future will lead them to. The performance piece is flawless, Christina Milian is looking sexy, stylish and with attitude, boy this is what you're missing and you ain't getting it back. Snoop Dogg, is looking smart and dapper, and is definitely enjoying Christina Milian beside him.
The dance choreography is faultless, but here comes the main problem with the video. In this bit, especially, the camera has too much movement. I have no clue what the cameraman was doing, he could have been battling the wind, but there doesn't look like there's any gusts of wind whatsoever. So why was the camera shaking so badly? This messes the entire dance choreography up, and some of Christina Milian's lyrics doesn't match her lips in this clip, this definitely knocks this video down. Was the cameraman dancing along? Something was clearly going wrong.
Overall, this was supposed to be polished to perfection, and it is stunningly beautiful. But the camera at the end just messes the entire video up. Just when she's about to the finish the video with a bang, with perfect choreography, the camera ruins it, yet I'll only knock one star off. I remember her recording the video because she constantly updated her Snapchat story at the time, as well as releasing snippets of the song. If you're not following her yet, you need to start! What should've been a sensational video, drops slightly due to stupid camera movement and editing.
