Freemasons Featuring Amanda Wilson - Love On My Mind

Honestly, I wasn't that interested at this announcement for Birmingham Pride 2016, until I looked at some of her songs, and then I got excited that she was the vocalist on Tim Berg's "Seek Bromance". But I doubt I'd go out of my way to watch Amanda Wilson perform, especially since I only really know "Seek Bromance", although I'm pretty sure the remixes of this song and her other hit "Watchin'" is currently doing the rounds in the clubs at the moment. Amanda Wilson performs this song to the best she can, whilst the dancers out-do her in every scene.

YET ANOTHER CONFIRMED ARTIST!We're looking forward to seeing the fantastic Amanda Wilson perform on our Birmingham...

The Freemasons are a DJ duo consisting of Russell Small and James Wiltshire, they are also members of the group Phats & Small, which has had better chart placements, but aren't as successful. Featured on this track is Amanda Wilson who will be hitting the Birmingham Pride 2016 stage. She has released quite a few singles, although the ones with the Freemasons are her most successful, as well as "Seek Bromance" which she isn't credited for, so I'm presuming she won't be singing "Seek Bromance" at pride. The song samples Jackie Moore's "This Time Baby" and Tina Turner's "When The Heartache Is Over". It was written by Graham Stack, John Reid, Russell Small, James Wiltshire, Leroy Bell and Casey James.

The video is simple, a pure performance based video that doesn't have much going on in it.

The dancers out perform Amanda Wilson, they are the main feature of the video, they're all in-sync and are definitely professionals, pulling off the choreography amazingly. Amanda Wilson either can't dance or they didn't want to include her in the choreography, she pretty much does the same three moves over and over again, and it's totally sets her up because the dancers aren't even doing those dance steps. She looks awkward and on her own.

This video exposes Amanda Wilson as a good singer but not the best performer. I bet she is a lot better now, but this video really makes her stand out, but in a very bad way. The choreography relates to the dance track rather than the actual song, and the only good bits I can find is the verses because you can see Amanda Wilson for herself, and yet it's too simplistic and with next to no performance in it. Was her heart even in this video?

Tim Berg - Seek Bromance

Tim Berg, real name Tim Bergling, or as we all know him Avicii, is definitely a very popular DJ now, thanks to many singles that have got into the UK chart. And I am super excited about new music, however so far no albums have been released in the UK, I just want to hear all his top songs on one complete album, but guess we might have to wait for a few more singles to be released.

"Seek Bromance" was, and probably still is, one of my favourite songs of all time and a perfect video to go with it. The song mixes Tim Berg's instrumental track "Bromance" with "Love U Seek" by Samuele Sartini and Amanda Wilson, and therefore there is a lot of song writers. The song writers are: Tim Bergling, Arash Pournouri, Maurizio Colella, Samuele Sartini, Maurizio Alfieri, Davide Domenella, Wendy Lewis, Andrea Tonici, Amanda Wilson and Massimiliano Moroldo. Quite a collaborative effort, which gives us one amazing song that I could listen to over and over again.

So this video links in perfectly with the song, however I don't even know where to go with this review, there is so many takes on it already that has flooded YouTube as well as various other blogs. I was in denial before I watched the Director's Cut (found on the right). I wanted to see the best in everyone, and wanted to believe that they hadn't done what everyone said they had, it was worse to leave her behind, but I watched the director's cut today and couldn't believe what I was watching, clearly I was wrong and everyone else was right.

This is a narrative piece and a lot of people see it differently, they see what they want to believe and I really like some people's takes on this video. This is what makes this video superb, to be able to get so many people connected to it and to see it in different lights makes it one of the best videos ever made, you really can't beat something like that.

Usually I talk about the narrative, however my take is different to others about and I also want to display everyone's takes on this music video, and it will probably take all day to do that, however they are easily found amongst comments on YouTube and Google, just search and you will find.

Overall a very catchy song that should've charted better than number 13 in the UK Chart. The accompanying music video has to be the best one I've ever seen and to be able to make various people confident and determined is something rare to find in a music video. To allow many people to get different things from this video is an inspiration and I'm extremely happy to award this video with this rating.
