Chart Mondays: Artists For Grenfell - Bridge Over Troubled Water

Bridge Over Troubled Water - Artists for Grenfell |

This song is the current number one in the UK, which isn't all that surprising since it is a charity single. Many artists came together to sing this heart-warming song after the tragic news about the Grenfell Tower. The music video for this charity single showcases the devastation caused by the fire that erupted in London at the Grenfell Tower. It also showcases the many artists that came together to record this version of the song. It just shows how much they can all pull together when there's a time of need. The song has charted in many countries around the world. Watch the devastation that was caused by the Grenfell Tower fire, while we see many artists come together in this music video for charity single "Bridge Over Troubled Water".

Artists For Grenfell consists of many artists, all of whom came together for this single. The following artists sang on the song: Stormzy, Robbie Williams, James Blunt, Rita Ora, Craig David, Bastille, Liam Payne, Emily Sandé, Kelly Jones, Paloma Faith, Louis Tomlinson, Labrinth, Jorja Smith, WSTRN, Leona Lewis, Jessie J, James Arthur, Roger Daltrey, Ella Eyre, Anne-Marie, Ella Henderson, Louisa Johnson, 5 After Midnight, Angel, Carl Barât, Deno, Donae'o, Dua Lipa, Fleur East, Gareth Malone & The Choir for Grenfell, Geri Halliwell, Gregory Porter, Jessie Ware, John Newman, Jon McClure, London Community Gospel Choir, Matt Goss, Matt Terry, Mr Eazi, Nathan Sykes, Omar, Pixie Lott, Ray BLK, Raye, Shakka, Shane Filan, Tom Grennan, Tony Hadley, and Tulisa. Musicians also recorded parts of the song: Brian May - on guitar, Nile Rogers - on guitar, Tokio Myers - on piano, and Pete Townsend - on guitar. This was a brilliant collaborative effort, and the song shot to the top of the UK charts. There are a few outshining vocals, to me Rita Ora and Ella Eyre shine out above them all, with James Arthur bringing his usual raspy voice. The song was originally sung by Simon & Garfunkel where their "Bridge Over Troubled Water" also hit number one in the UK. The song has been covered by many, my favourite being Hear'Say. The song was written by Paul Simon. All proceeds of this version of the song that Syco Music and Sony Music receive will be donated to the London Community Foundation and distributed by them to those affected by the fire.

The music video is a typical charity single music video, that showcases the Artists For Grenfell in the studio, recording the song; whilst clips of the devastating events after the fire are shown in segments. This is really nothing new and, as usual, the artists are shown in black and white, which doesn't add anything to this music video, apart from contrast.

Stormzy fully encompasses the song at the start, clearly adding something new to this song and making it unique. The sights we watch are completely saddening, and something like this could've happened to any one of us or one of our family members.

Overall, the video captures the devastation of the Grenfell Tower fire. I'm not so keen on the studio visuals of the artists as we've seen this sort of thing a thousand times before. As a whole, it totally deserves to be number one, and I'm glad that the public has done their part by buying the charity single to help all these sufferers.

Louisa Johnson - Best Behaviour

Best Behaviour - Louisa Johnson |

I have to admit, I wasn't so keen on this song when I first heard it, now I think it's a banger of a song! This is the only artist who will be performing at Birmingham Pride 2017 who I am a fan of and I intend to see. Out of all the acts that have been announced, it's disappointing to know that I am only a fan of this artist and none of the other announcements, and I so hope they reveal more acts as it's not looking like a great Birmingham Pride at the moment. This is Louisa Johnson's latest single, and it's definitely a grower, although the music video should've been better. Watch Louisa Johnson perform in a plane graveyard, where she throws a party where she's supposed to be on her "Best Behaviour".

Louisa Johnson was the winner of the twelfth series of The X Factor and she has yet to release a debut album. As the winner of the show, you would expect Louisa Johnson to be releasing hit after hit after hit, and that hasn't really happened for her - although I fully love her songs, they're not raging chart successes, and they really need to strategize their next move with her, otherwise she could just disappear like many other winners before her. I've seen her live once at Kiss Haunted House Party, so I know she's going to perform amazingly at Birmingham Pride 2017. This song has not charted well at all, managing to peak at number 48 on the UK Singles Chart, but it could easily climb in the next few weeks. It was written by Ben Kohn, Danny Parker, Pete Kelleher, Tom Barnes, and Shungudzo Kuyimba.

Directed by Sarah Chatfield, the music video is a pure performance visual that sees Louisa Johnson pick up her friends in a bus before taking them all to a plane graveyard where they have a massive party.

It's quite an interesting place to set the music video and they really have made Louisa Johnson look amazing. The profile shots are perfect, seeing her perform her song on the wings of a plane; although there is a blue-filter which distracts the visual.

The choreography isn't anything special but Louisa Johnson is clearly loving every bit of this music video and is just having fun. It may not be completely polished. It may not be perfect. But it's something different. The song is definitely a grower, and deserves to climb up the chart!

Louisa Johnson - So Good

This dropped recently, and I just HAD to review it, especially after hearing it live at the Kiss Haunted House Party 2016. This full on party anthem was initially sung for the first time at the Kiss Haunted House Party 2016, where I captured the entire performance of the song. It was released the following day and then was performed on The X Factor, just last week. The song is her first solo effort since winning the contest, not counting the winner's single "Forever Young". Louisa Johnson goes out, it was only meant to be for an hour or two. A bar performance and a brawl all happen in this "So Good" music video.

Louisa Johnson won the twelfth series of The X Factor. She is known as the only winner never to hit the top two with her winning song; unfortunately, she got to number nine with "Forever Young". However, teaming up with Clean Bandit for song "Tears" was an amazing idea and once again pushed her into the limelight. This definitely helped to further her potential success. This song is completely catchy, it's party inspired but quite a slow ballad pop song that we can't get out of our heads! It was written by Steve Mac, Chelcee Grimes & Ed Drewett,

Directed by Emil Nava, a constant name we hear often in the directing of music videos. this was obviously going to be theatrical from the first few seconds.

Louisa Johnson performs in bed, clearly waking from a possible nap? Other scenes show her performing at an empty petrol station and a bar.

This bar is an important part of the music video. She steps onto the stage and sings the song. The bar is practically deserted apart from the drunken guys, one of who steps up to her and dances. This guy is shoved away by her crowd.

The girl group later go outside to beat up the men outside who are ranting at them. It would've been good if they had all cartwheeled forwards at the same time, but it's slightly out of sync. Louisa Johnson just stands in the middle and sings.

As a whole, it's an okay music video. It's clearly high-budgeted and has a similar feel to Alexandra Burke's "Bad Boys", yet it's trying to make Louisa Johnson way more classy. It incredibly theatrical, yet nothing to follow-up. The video does suit the song well, though.

Chart Mondays: Clean Bandit Featuring Louisa Johnson - Tears

Once again Drake is at the top of the charts with "One Dance" which still has no official music video, come on Drake what are you playing at? So the UK top 10's music videos are available for me to review this week. I picked this song because I've been ignoring it for a while because of the stunning hit the song is. Clean Bandit makes a solid return with the most recent X Factor winner Louisa Johnson in this incredibly visual music video.

Clean Bandit are an instrumental pop band consisting of Jack Patterson, Luke Patterson, Grace Chatto and Neil Amin-Smith, They have had various hits especially with Jess Glynne on tracks "Rather Be" and "Real Love". They are always hitting the charts hard because no other band is doing what they are doing, it's innovative and all-so clever. They have made a massive mark on the music industry and they are not going anywhere. The featured singer if Louisa Johnson, who won the 12th series of The X Factor, which was the most recent series. She was one of the stars from the get-go, and her vocal talents are unbelievable, and this track doesn't show them off fully, yet adds to her versatility. Many have said it sounds like a Eurovision song, both as a winning song and as a catchy unnoticed song. I vote Clean Bandit as the next UK Eurovision representative! The song was written by Sam Romans and Jack Patterson.

Directed by Jack Patterson, yes that's right Clean Bandit's own Jack Patterson, this video is completely stunning with amazing visual effects and scenes that definitely captures the intensity of the song. It also features Hedwig, the snowy owl from Harry Potter, apparently.

This video has it all, flamethrowers, Hedwig, rain, water, smoke, dancing, singing, instruments and fire. What more can you want? Literally Jack Patterson threw it all in, and it really worked.

A stunning music video to match Louisa Johnson's stunning vocals. The choreography is in time with the music, and performed professionally. The band and the vocalist perform emotionally, who wouldn't want to see these people live? Even without all the effects going on around them, their energy is the electricity that fuels this entire thing.

There's a lot going on but little more I can comment on. Overall it's in-depth intensity with a visual concept that works fluidly with the song. They have literally captured the music and turned it into a conceptual art piece.
