Justin Bieber & Mariah Carey - All I Want For Christmas Is You (SuperFestive!)

This is just one of those moments that makes you think: "Did this really happen?" And now this is part of my Christmas Special 2016. It's one of those things that you wouldn't expect to happen. Mariah Carey's original version of "All I Want For Christmas Is You" is not only iconic, but it's still very current. It's the one that always charts highly every Christmas, and it's one a lot of people love. It's highly catchy and is one of those ones that people look forward to hearing on the radio. So why she thought it was a good idea to do a new version with Justin Bieber, we'll never know. Watch Justin Bieber shop in Macy's, buying everything and anything, whilst eyeing up Mariah Carey; then later giving out presents in this music video for "All I Want For Christmas Is You (SuperFestive!)".

Justin Bieber is one of the biggest male artists in the world right now; many people have become fans of his music after his recent album. His Purpose album is full of amazing songs that everybody is still talking about today; who knows what the next album will bring, but no doubt it will be amazing. However, when this song was released as part of a Christmas album, he was still coming into his own. His own Christmas song "Mistletoe" is still pretty good, but maybe he needs to release another Christmas album, with a single that will top the charts; it would certainly make a change to see a Christmas song at the top of the UK Singles Chart for Christmas. Teaming up with Mariah Carey, this version of this classic song was released as a promotional single in some countries. She is one of the biggest female artists in the world. She has definitely made a name for herself, made her money and is still current when she wants to be. This should've done well globally, but it's nothing compared to the original.

Directed by Sanaa Hamri, the music video shows the two superstar artists in Macy's. Justin Bieber is a customer, piling everything and anything into his shopping trolley, whilst Mariah Carey poses on a stand as if she is some sort of mannequin.

She winks at him and then the music video progresses as she comes alive. Shoppers wait outside Macy's to get gifts from these two stars.

They throw presents out to the crowd; at times, it looks like Justin Bieber is trying to throw them as far away as possible. There is definitely some power behind those throws.

He does look quite childish next to the highly professional and sexy Mariah Carey. His performance piece is pretty cute, which is a contrast to Mariah Carey's performance piece, who is being overly sexy. It doesn't really gel well, but nor does the song.

The narrative doesn't relate to the song, although I guess you could suppose they are singing to one another. As a whole, I'm not quite so keen on it. However, it is completely festive, and I suppose it's good that they tried to switch up the original. But, even Mariah Carey can't beat the original, and it's her own song. Nice try though.

Katy Perry - This Is How We Do

This was playing on my iTunes today, which I have on shuffle, and it's been stuck in my head whilst at work, so thought I'd review the music video as we await her new album, which she is currently working on. It's been two years since this video dropped and it's still a lot to take in. This is how we do according to Katy Perry, this is how you do a studio-based music video, totally knocking it out of the park with this performance piece.

Katy Perry, real name Katheryn Hudson, hasn't released anything new since this song almost two years ago. She started in the music industry under her real name Katy Hudson back in 2001, but changed her stage name to Katy Perry to prevent confusion between her and the actress Kate Hudson. We are waiting patiently for her new music, which has been a long time coming for any KatyCat, or Katy Perry fan, Katy Perry has been a little bit busy, she recently became the most followed celebrity on Twitter, amassing 90.3 million followers. Her most recent single, this one, was written by Katy Perry, Klas Åhlund and Max Martin.

The video was directed by New Zealand filmmaker Joel Kefali. Relating to the song perfectly in this summer hit of 2014, adding in pop culture and exact translation into visual during lyrics, this is how you pull off a studio-based music video.

There's literally so much going on that even to document every minute detail, you're bound to miss something.

Twerking ice creams, pizza nails, Yves Saint Laurent's Mondrian dresses, Mariah Carey caricature, picture of Aretha Franklin, pop art to the max, karaoke, dancing, table tennis, this music video has it all.

The explosion of summery stuff in a studio-based music video makes this video tongue-in-cheek and so addicting. It matches the song's beat and style, and totally worked! Each lyric of the song has it's own 'vignette' according to the director.

However the song didn't perform well on the charts, despite the catchy tune and perfect music video. It isn't really a commercial song, too bubble-gum pop that would've really worked years and years ago, and although it attempted to make a comeback, it didn't impact the charts the way it should've done. However this will always become one of Katy Perry's classic tracks that we all know and love even if the charts say differently.

New Release: Sigala Featuring Imani & DJ Fresh - Say You Do

Sigala is bringing hit after hit, he is the one to watch, he is the one on everyone's lips, he is the one getting the chart numbers and he is the one who is bringing summer anthems to Britain while it's dreary and cold! He is also bringing fresh talent to the table, which is definitely helping him chart well, as well as collaborating with big names which brings crossover fans, I just want him to collaborate with one of my favourite artists. Summery and fun, this music video pushes Imani into the spotlight, whilst Sigala and DJ Fresh creates the amazing sounds behind the scenes. Hot, sexy, calm and full of life, this video is the fun summer anthem during spring!

Sigala, real name Bruce Fielder, has released two singles that has had global success "Easy Love" which hit number one here in the UK, and "Sweet Lovin'". This third single is going to follow in the previous hits' success, no doubt. He is bringing the summer throughout the year, and this song does exactly that. Imani, full name Imani Williams, is new and fresh, this is her first single and she has an incredible voice, if this song doesn't prove it enough, I suggest you listen to her acoustic videos on Instagram here, just wow! DJ Fresh also features on this song, real name Daniel Stein, he used to easily chart well, but his singles haven't matched up to his number one hits, and it seems this song might just push him back into the limelight. This song samples Mariah Carey's "Always Be My Baby", and was written by Sigala, DJ Fresh, Imani Williams, The Invisible Men, Mariah Carey, Jermaine Dupri and Manuel Seal. The song reminds me of Cover Drive's "Twilight", it has the same feel and summer vibe, and I guess Imani reminds me slightly of Amanda Reifer.

Directed by Craig Moore; the video was set in Port Antonio, Jamaica. Imani is central figure in this music video, the spotlight is on her and no one else.

She's full of life and fun, releasing the summer vibes for this summer hit, her performance is meaningful and joyous.

She nails the choreography given to her, she captures the audience in her dancing, her relaxation and in her singing. She not only means every word, but she is having one of the best times in Jamaica, and we all want to be there to enjoy it with her.

Imani is just so excited to be in this video, you can tell that she was meant to do this, as she is enjoying every moment of this, and in doing so she releases those feelings out to us allowing us to feel what she's feeling, giving us a joyous viewing.

Sexy and hot, Imani is a soon-to-be superstar, the video extras fail to grab the spotlight from her, apart from the kid breakdancing on the shoreline, however no one else manages to shine as Imani proves she was meant to do this. I can't wait to see where she'll go next, hopefully a solo hit is around the corner, she has the voice for it.

Mariah Carey - All I Want For Christmas Is You

Mariah Carey is another well known singer who has yet to make my blog. It just shows how many great singers there are out there. She recently appeared in the spotlight again as a new judge for American Idol. However she's fading in the UK, with her most recent singles charting lower than expected. She definitely won't disappear, but I reckon it will take a lot to try and get on top once again in the UK. She has only ever had one number one in the UK, back in 1994 (when I was 1 year old) with "Without You". She also topped as featured artist on Westlife's "Against All Odds" in 2000.

"All I Want For Christmas Is You" was written by Mariah Carey and Walter Afanasieff. It has to be one of my favourite Christmas songs, it's up there next to Wizzard's "I Wish It Could Be Christmas Everyday", The Pogues Featuring Kirsty MacColl "Fairytale Of New York" and Wham!'s "Last Christmas". This song has never been a UK number one. Back in 1994, it got to number two, and since then it has failed to reach the top. Since downloads has contributed to the chart, this song has climbed extremely high. In 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010 and 2011 it charted at 4, 12, 19, 22 and 11 respectively. This year it is set to chart within the top 20! I hope one day it'll make it to the top. Justin Bieber recently covered this song, featuring Mariah Carey and called it "All I Want For Christmas (Superfestive!)".

This music video is probably one of the most up-to-date of the old Christmas songs, as it was filmed in 1994. However I question whether the intention of this video was to try and make it fit in with the old music videos, because it really is difficult to tell them apart, and I was really surprised to find out what year it was made.

I have to admit this video is quite good. There's Santa Claus, there's snow, there's a Christmas Tree, and all sorts. Everything I want in a Christmas music video and more. There is a bit of a narration but it's hardly noticeable, and that is all that is missing as the song is an emotional piece.

But Mariah Carey loves Christmas, and shows that perfectly in this video by having lots and lots of fun, she's definitely enjoying being in the snow and meeting Santa Claus, and this really makes us enjoy the video more.

On that note. The song is one of my favourites and really needs to get to number one in the future. The music video fits great, and it's definitely a fun-loved video, just wish a bit more narration was added. This video definitely deserves this rating.
