DJ Antoine vs Timati Featuring Kalenna - Welcome To St. Tropez

Welcome to St. Tropez (DJ Antoine vs. Mad Mark Remix) (feat. Kalenna) - Timati |

This was the first of many international hits from DJ Antoine so, of course, I was going to review this music video for my Thursday Revisit. There's not a lot to it, and it's a typical video to a club song, that we've seen time and again. As for the song, it's undeniably catchy and totally works in every way. I love this team-up and can truly feel what DJ Antoine has done to the song. Watch DJ Antoine and Timati live their lives to the full in this music video for this club-induced track "Welcome To St. Tropez" featuring Kalenna.

DJ Antoine, full name Antoine Konrad, is one of the top Switzerland DJs in the world. He gained international success upon the release of this song. Since then he has built his name and brand. He has plenty of number ones in his home country, and he's ready to blow up around the world. He's definitely a DJ who will have a global hit in the coming years, so be prepared to say 'I heard him first'. This track was originally a Timati track before DJ Antoine came in and switched it up. Timati, real name Timur Yunusov, is a Russian hip-hop artist who has worked with top names in the music industry. This song is his biggest hit to date. He has collaborated a few times with DJ Antoine over the years, and it's clearly a continued, blossoming friendship between them. Featured on this track is Kalenna, who doesn't appear in the music video; she also wasn't a part of the original song; instead, it featured Russian singer Blue Marine. Kalenna, full name Kalenna Harper, is probably best known for performing in the duo Dirty Money; who collaborated with Sean Coombs (known as P. Diddy, Puff Daddy, Diddy, and Puffy) a few times, creating Diddy - Dirty Money. Collectively they had a range of global hits. It's not a surprise this collaboration did well.

The video is a typical club performance piece that showcases events that DJ Antoine and Timati perform at. The video is set in Saint-Tropez, France.

The opening scenes show a yacht on the water, and the guys driving around in a Ferrari and an Audi. Throughout we see expensive cars including Porsches, a Chevrolet, a Bugatti, an Aston Martin, and much more. Then we see snippets of these two scenes throughout the visuals, cut between a pool party, event and club performances, and celebrity parties.

The scenes continue for the rest of the music video, and it is an overdone visual; however, it continues to relate to the song since clubs is exactly where this song would've been played. Not only that but they are showing that they do have too much money, just like the song suggests; enticing us all to Saint-Tropez. If only we had the money ourselves!

DJ Antoine & Dizkodude Featuring Sibbyl - I Love Your Smile

I Love Your Smile (feat. Sibbyl) - DJ Antoine & Dizkodude |

I had totally forgotten all about this banger of a song until I wrote about it for CelebMix, and the original is such a tune; but, DJ Antoine & Dizkodude have given it a very current tropical house mix that just makes this track even better. The music video is engaging from the get go, and I love the various rooms that the two characters walk through. The song itself deserves to be a hit. Many old songs are being refreshed, and this is just another one that is absolutely incredible. It needs to rise up on the charts. Watch DJ Antoine chase his real-life partner Laura Zurbriggen as she teases him into various rooms before he finally catches up with her in this music video for his collaboration with Dizkodude, titled "I Love Your Smile" featuring Sibbyl.

DJ Antoine, full name Antoine Konrad, is a Swiss DJ and is probably best known for various hit songs, but mainly "Welcome To St. Tropez" which verses Timati and featured Kalenna, as well as "Ma Chérie" which featured The Beat Shakers, and "Bella Vita". He's one of the biggest DJs from Switzerland and has had many number one albums and singles in his home country. He's also grazed charts around the world with his most popular songs. He continues to prove that he's a DJ to watch. For this song, he teamed up with Dizkodude, real name Bart Vanhoyland, who is a DJ from Belgium. He has been going for many years and has continued to build up his career. This song has already become his most streamed song on Spotify, I can't wait to see what the future brings for him. Featured on this track is Sibbyl, real name Loren Geerts, who is completely new to the music scene. This is her first release and she has contributed by singing the lyrics of the song. It is quite the honour to be singing a refresh cover of Shanice's "I Love Your Smile", which was originally an international success, managing to chart within the top ten in various countries in 1991 and 1992. It's about time a DJ came along and mixed this into an unstoppable club track, and now we have one. I just wish this launched up charts around the world and would get more recognition. It was written by Jarvis La Rue Baker, Sylvester Jackson, Narada Walden, and Shanice Wilson.

The music video was directed by Haris Dubica. It stars DJ Antoine as he follows a woman around a hotel through a long line of rooms that show different scenarios. His on-screen love interest is played by actress and model Laura Zurbriggen, who is actually his real-life partner.

The opening scene sees Laura Zurbriggen smelling a rose, she then drops it on the table in front of DJ Antoine - teasing him. She climbs the stairs and he follows her up into a room. This is where the first of many scenes appear.

We watch them go through various rooms. In the first one, we see a drag queen working the camera as rose petals fall - a great link back to the rose Laura dropped in front of Antoine. Then as the drop kicks in the song, we see a raver room where we expect DJ Antoine and Dizkodude feel right at home in - I also want his denim jacket in this scene!

Next up is a masquerade ball scene, which brings a Marie Antoinette feel to it, as DJ Antoine gets down on one knee and kisses Laura Zurbriggen's hand. Then we go into a futuristic space cake decoration room - after they have left the room, we see two children reenacting the scene. Then comes the popcorn room.

The very next scene is beyond iconic. We watch DJ Antoine as a drawing, he walks into a room where Elvis Presley, David Bowie, Michael Jackson, and Bob Marley, are sitting around a table creating a song - imagine the outcome of that songwriting session. Then he walks into a room where a groom and a bride are together lovingly, but she makes a grab for DJ Antoine whilst Laura Zurbriggen fights for her man. Then comes the bowling scene, where he becomes distracted; and then there's the powerful money gang who has someone tied up. DJ Antoine then loses Laura Zurbriggen and mistakenly walks into the women's bathroom.

He back tracks through all the rooms, stumbling across his mini-me in the cake room, and coming across an enticing room where three reincarnations of himself are playing cards - now that's my idea of heaven but we'd be doing something totally different than playing cards. In the final scene, DJ Antoine finds Laura Zurbriggen in the seat he once occupied, in the hotel lobby, holding the rose, smiling.

This music video has it all! It works completely with a brilliant narrative that entices the audience from start to finish. The song is beyond catchy and they've managed to capture the whole meaning of the song in the various rooms and the narrative. I can't stop watching this, and a lot of effort has certainly gone into this visual, especially since their outfits and their style completely change in each room. This will forever remain a treasure of mine and will be getting this extremely rare rating because it more than deserves it. I just wish the song would appear on charts around the world so that music channels everywhere would be able to show this visual often.

Saara Aalto - Out Of Sight, Out Of Mind

Out of Sight, Out of Mind - Saara Aalto |

I struggled today finding a music video I wanted to review, mainly because I have had quite the down day (apart from one little surprise). I decided to review a Saara Aalto song because she inspires me. She's been attempting a career in music for many years and she has built it up and never gave up - and she was absolutely incredible at Birmingham Pride 2017. There are not many music videos from her to choose from, now that I've reviewed "Blessed With Love" and "You Had My Heart". This one is a very sweet ballad from her, that she totally nails, which I totally expected. Watch Saara Aalto pine after her lover who has gone away but she plans on finding him in this sweet music video for "Out Of Sight, Out Of Mind".

Saara Aalto is a singer/songwriter from Finland. She came second on the 13th series of The X Factor and also came second, twice, in Finland's national selection to Eurovision in 2011 and 2016; the former was called Euroviisut 2011, and the latter was called Uuden Musiikin Kilpailu. Not only that but in 2012 she competed in The Voice of Finland during season one, where she also came second. She will be a judge on The X Factor Suomi which returns for its second season in 2018. This song is a part of her debut album along with title track "Blessed With Love". It was written by Saara Aalto herself.

This music video was directed by Sakari Mäkelä. It's a pure performance visual with only a few scenes. Saraa Aalto works the camera even when she's not looking towards it; she's totally camera-friendly.

As per usual, Saara Aalto brings it for this sweet ballad. I love how she's missing her love while she's on the bed, holding his photo close to her. She can also be seen in a forested setting and climbing over rocks. She really gets into this character.

Unfortunately, we don't see the guy that she mentions in the song. Yet, budgeting might have been the reason behind this. The video may be low-budget, but Saara Aalto works with it, conveys the narrative along with a fully fleshed out performance visual and gives us a great video in every way.

Chart Mondays: Louis Tomlinson Featuring Bebe Rexha & Digital Farm Animals - Back To You

Back to You (feat. Bebe Rexha & Digital Farm Animals) - Louis Tomlinson |

Where did this one come from? Like, seriously? It's just crept into the top ten of the UK Singles Chart at number eight, which is its highest peak to date. This week's number one is Dua Lipa's "New Rules" which I reviewed last week, therefore opening the top ten today's Chart Mondays review. I'm actually surprised I haven't written about this video yet. My problem with this is that Bebe Rexha is only featured on the track, whereas her involvement makes it much more like a collaboration and so I feel like it should be Louis Tomlinson & Bebe Rexha, especially since they both appear in the music video as much as each other and she even starts the track off. Watch Louis Tomlinson walk around Doncaster showcasing his football skills and Doncaster Rovers Football Club's Keepmoat Stadium whilst Bebe Rexha acts as the sexy girl next door in this music video for "Back To You" featuring Digital Farm Animals.

Louis Tomlinson is best known for being one-fifth/one-fourth of One Direction, who are on hiatus as they all focus on their solo music careers. All the members have gone in completely different genres of music, yet they are all performing well when it comes to the charts. This is Louis Tomlinson's second single to date and it's done moderately well on charts around the world - it's certainly a grower of a song. He's also made his mark in the football world, having played for Doncaster on non-contract terms; he has also played in charity football matches. Featured on this track is Bebe Rexha, real name Bleta Rexha; she's an American singer who has been building up her career for a few years. She's definitely one who likes to impress and will continue to build her name and reputation. She's had quite a few hits to date in collaborations, but it's about time she had a solo hit. Also featured is Digital Farm Animals, real name Nicholas Gale, who is a British DJ. He has worked with a lot of big names so far; yet, this song is his biggest hit to date. I expect we'll be hearing more of him in the future. The song was written by Louis Tomlinson, Nicholas James Gale, Pablo Bowman, Richard Boardman, and Sarah Blanchard.

Directed by Craig Moore, this music video is a pure performance visual that doesn't add anything to the song - in my opinion. I feel that the video doesn't go anywhere and doesn't attract the audience in pressing that replay button.

Kicking the song and the video off is Bebe Rexha, she's in Doncaster with Louis Tomlinson, but they don't meet up until much later in the video. As for Louis, he's walking around the streets of Doncaster, showcasing the back alleys and the streets. He comes across a kid, they play football together and Louis kicks the ball into the goal - poor kid.

The video continues with some cute shots of these two singers together. From Keepmoat Stadium to them performing on a couch in an alley. There's also a café shot which is where Louis Tomlinson starts to sing; as well as a pool club venue, where you can see both singers with cues.

Overall, this video goes nowhere, it doesn't keep the audience interested and Bebe Rexha practically pulls Louis Tomlinson through this performance. He seems really down, which doesn't sit right considering the song is supposed to be a light-hearted track. There is down bits about the song but there's also nice bits too, and I just feel Louis Tomlinson fails to bring the emotion across for the song in the visual. It's slightly relatable though, and it showcases his love for football.

Jax Jones Featuring Demi Lovato & Stefflon Don - Instruction

Instruction (feat. Demi Lovato & Stefflon Don) - Jax Jones |

This is the party song that I love hearing when I'm in the club. My friends and I have perfected our dance moves to the chorus of this song; it's definitely extremely catchy, although we're not as good as Demi Lovato and her backing dancers in this video. This hasn't charted that well globally, and I expect it to climb up in some countries the more we hear it and fall in love with it. "Instruction" definitely goes off when we're in a club. Watch Demi Lovato show off her dancing skills and sexy looks to the camera in this music video for Jax Jones' "Instruction" as Stefflon Don raps whilst riding a horse.

Jax Jones, real name Timucin Aluo, first came on to the scene after meeting Duke Dumont and collaborating with him on "I Got U". His biggest single to date is "You Don't Know Me" which features RAYE. We expect to see a lot more music coming our way from this DJ very soon, especially since he's collaborated with this highly successful singer, Demi Lovato. She came from the Disney channel, and continues to prove she is on her game; she delivers highly catchy songs with on-point vocals throughout. She's a total star. As for Stefflon Don, real name Stephanie Allen, she's a fairly new British rapper who is definitely putting her stamp on the music industry - she totally brings it with this song and video. I expect to see more top hits from her in the future. This song was written by Uzoechi Emenike (MNEK), Stephanie Allen, Demi Lovato, and Timucin Aluo.

Directed by Ozzie Pullin, the music video was filmed in Los Angeles, California. It's a full-on dance music video - which is to be expected since that chorus contains dance move instructions, that my friend and I kill on the dance floor.

We start off with Jax Jones playing the drums linking this to its extremely tropical sound of the song. Demi Lovato is snapshotted throughout the intro, clearly making the statement that she's on this track and completely ready to bring it in every way.

The chorus has a specific set of dance moves and Demi Lovato nails these completely, along with her backing dancers. The choreography is totally lit and it's something that we all want to learn so we can pull it off in time with this video. However, the chorus does get on my nerves slightly, as Demi Lovato missteps in the song and the word "Left" sounds kind of hesitant, which annoys me a lot!

The verses bring more sexy face shots for the camera. It's not the best at profiling, but when it comes to Stefflon Don, she fully brings it whilst being on a horse - now that is talent. Still, the editing and the camera work doesn't allow the audience to fully connect with everything going on.

It's a great party song that I absolutely love, but the music video definitely falls short. We needed something amazing and this is just plain, with a great dance choreography segment for the chorus; although, it's not something we can easily learn and Demi Lovato comes off a little like she's out with her girls training in trackies, rather than performing in a music video.

Little Mix - Move

Move - Little Mix |

I'm literally running out of Little Mix music videos to review, I've almost done them all. Luckily, there's a few of them left for me to cover, and today is a massively important day since today marks their sixth year anniversary. I have just written up an article about their best album tracks that should've been official singles for CelebMix. I highly suggest you check it out! This song is one of my favourites from this group and definitely club-worthy! However, the music video is difficult to keep up, with too many intercutting scenes; comparing this to the recent "Touch" really shows this up as a hard-to follow music video. Watch Little Mix dance their way through this song with backing dancers and on point choreography in this music video for "Move".

Little Mix are still the only group to have won The X Factor. They were put together on the eighth series of the show in 2011, and are celebrating their sixth year anniversary today. The group consists of Perrie Edwards, Jade Thirlwall, Jesy Nelson, and Leigh-Anne Pinnock. They have had a whole range of hit songs and continue to dominate as one of the biggest girl groups in the world. "Move" acted as their first single from their second studio album - the album that spawned the least amount of singles; but there were plenty of amazing ones they could've chosen. This song managed to chart in many countries, even gaining number three in the UK and number five in Ireland. The song was written by Maegan Cottone, Nathan Duvall, Perrie Edwards, Jesy Nelson, Leigh-Anne Pinnock, and Jade Thirlwall.

Directed by Carly Cussen, the music video is a performance-based piece that showcases the girls' ability to dance whilst also looking down-to-earth. They easily connect with the audience.

There's not a lot to this. There's a lot of bright backing colour going on, helping the girls to pop in the visuals. The spotlights are on them from start to finish, apart from the very start where they are silhouettes.

The dance choreography is complex and intricate to a certain extent. It's clear that Little Mix worked really hard on nailing the moves and in the entire clip they fully bring it in every way. They're totally in-sync and they have so much energy.

The problem is, we're switching between way too many scenes. The editing of this makes it very difficult to watch however it's full of great vibes that keep us until the end. The profile shots of Little Mix helps the audience identify with each and every one of the four girls.

New Release: Miley Cyrus - Younger Now

Younger Now - Miley Cyrus |

There have been so many incredible releases today, it was so difficult to choose a music video for my New Release this week. However, Miley Cyrus has been solid lately and has made her new album available to pre-order with this incredible song being the title single! This song is catchy to no-end, and its music video seriously has some cool but old vibes going on, looking into the past and bringing it into the future. Watch Miley Cyrus showcase her performance vibes with this Elvis-inspired music video that has us enthralled from start to finish and hoping that we'll have a Miley Cyrus musical one day in this visual for "Younger Now".

Miley Cyrus, real name Destiny Cyrus, has been teasing new music recently with the release of "Malibu" and "Inspired", so I'm ecstatic that she has released a new one that's ever so catchy and motivating in every way. It's a whole new era for Miley Cyrus, and I feel like this song looks back on her past as she states that people do change as they find their way. I am loving this new sound, and "Younger Now" is something that deserves to be a hit, and we're sure it will be! This came with the announcement of her album, with the same title, which will be released on 29 September 2017 - I cannot wait! This song was written by Miley Cyrus and Oren Yoel.

The music video was directed by Diane Martel. It is very Elvis-inspired with a great message throughout. She has even used old people to be her backing dancers and to join her in the visuals, which is a great tribute to how the song came to her - since her mother started the ball rolling with the lyrics by telling her that "you're younger now at 24 than you were at 4!" which totally explains where the song came from.

I love this pure performance visual. There are some iconic scenes throughout, including some Elvis-inspired looks. I am obsessed with her red outfit - she looks super hot in that scene; as well as the blue jumpsuit.

She continues her ode to Elvis with the puppet scene. This directly links in with Elvis' music video for "Wooden Heart". Today marks the 40th anniversary of his death, so Miley Cyrus has picked the perfect time to release this video.

My favourite scene has to be the ending, that looks like a scene from the future Miley Cyrus musical theatre show - surely this is something that will happen at some point; her iconic songs would easily be able to come together to make a hit musical. The old dancers fully bring it as if they are young, and it's incredible to see Miley Cyrus enjoying her life in every way and enjoying her time on this set.

Overall this music video is a brilliant tribute and completely relates to the song. I love her biker chick outfit which makes her look a bit like Fergie; I also like the float because it's a float. I do feel that this could've been a little more engaging, and I feel that after the first watch she'll lose some viewers as it's not something you would definitely watch again and again. Regardless it is polished and has got me excited for 29 September when the new album drops!

Alexis Jordan - Good Girl

Good Girl - Alexis Jordan |

Today is Thursday, which means I throw it back for a revisit, and it was obvious I was going to do another Alexis Jordan song because I may not get another chance; plus this song is another banger from her! This, along with "Happiness", may be extremely catchy, but they also become tiresome if you listen too often, this one especially - which might explain the moderate chart placements of this song compared to "Happiness". We won't talk about her follow-ups that just didn't do well at all. Watch Alexis Jordan be fierce in this choreographed dance performance music video of her second single "Good Girl", knocking out the dance sequences perfectly.

Alexis Jordan started off in America's Got Talent in the very first season. She made it to the semi-finals before being eliminated - she was just 14 years old. She then started uploading covers on YouTube, which caught the attention of Stargate and Jay-Z, and therefore kick-started her career in the music industry. However, in 2014, she was dropped from her label and her second studio album never surfaced; although, rumours state that she is set to make a return in the near-future, which I am certainly excited about. This song charted at number six in the UK, we practically loved her over here. It was written by Autumn Rowe, Mikkel S. Eriksen, Tor Erik Hermansen, Petr Brdičko, Sandy Wilhelm, Espen Lind, and Amund Björklund.

Directed by Erik White, the music video is mainly a performance piece with full-on dance choreography throughout. Some scenes look like there was a planned narrative, which may have got cut; instead, leaving us with snapshots of various scenes that doesn't relate all that much.

The dance sequences are on point throughout. There's a couple of main ones, mainly Alexis Jordan performing with her backup dancers. She's in-sync throughout, being confident and sassy whilst maintaining her "Good Girl" charm. There's also another scene where she's dancing with her on-screen love interest who is dancer Hefa Leone Tuita; they show the clear chemistry between them as they nail every dance step.

There are a few different characters that she portrays, from the everyday street woman to the high school geek, from professional dancer to the good girl princess. There's a lot going on but they've made it a good performance piece, it's just difficult to keep up with what's going on at times.

Ashley J - Trapped

Trapped - Ashley J |

Today's been a day of catching up with my music video reviews on this blog, so it's always a welcomed treat when something new slides into my email. This one was suggested by someone who noticed my previous review on Dua Lipa's "New Rules" - which is incredible in every way. One listen to this song, and it was stuck in my head, and I knew I had to review it on my blog! So here is Ashley J with her fourth single "Trapped", and after listening to all her other songs, this is definitely her best to date. This one just has that contemporary-pop spin that suits her in every way; plus it's beyond catchy. I think I've found another new female singer that I love! Watch Ashley J be confident and expressive in this music video for her fourths single "Trapped" which showcases her fierce energy.

Ashley J, full name Ashley Jean, has been working on her music career for the past few years. 2015 was the year she launched on to the scene with "One And One", which is a cover of the popular Robert Miles song of the same name; this managed to chart on Billboard's Top 20 Dance Charts. She followed that up with "Cali" with Ralphi Roasio, which debuted at number one on Billboard's Breakout Chart. Then, last year, saw her release "Dare Ya" which peaked at number three on the Official European Independent Music Charts. It's clear that Ashley J has talent and great songwriting skills on her side. We're sure this song will become much bigger the more that people hear it, and I certainly can't stop listening to it myself. It was written by Ashley J; whilst it was produced by Narada Michael Walden.

The music video is a pure performance visual throughout. The song is about being trapped, being lost or mesmerised by her lover. I don't know about you, but this sultry music video certainly has me trapped from the very start.

This girl not only has the vocals, but she has the sexy visual to go with it. Ashley J starts off subtle, calm, and composed; but, just like the song, she builds and builds before unleashing these performance vibes that really come out of nowhere.

She certainly has that star quality to her as we flip through the various scenes, our favourite being the second scene we get to watch. Most parts are filmed in the same place only with Ashley J wearing something new or there being a different projected visual - each one making it smoky, just like the track itself.

The very last shot just makes the video complete. This works fully, and the corner of the walls brings the visual impact of being trapped, whilst her energetic performance shows the emotion to this song. It relates it draws the audience in, and the song itself is one of my favourite new jams!

Sofi Tukker - Fuck They

F**k They - Sofi Tukker |

I recently reviewed this song and music video for Outlet Magazine. This is what I love about writing for this website because I come across some amazing tracks and videos and this is most-definitely one of them. It later appeared as a snippet in one of Matt Crawford's videos and I knew I had to review the weird-ass music video for my blog because this is one heck of a groovy track that embeds itself in my head effortlessly. It's so catchy and the video is out of this world on the freakiness scale, and yet it's still relatable and totally works. Watch Sofi Tukker totally bring it, in their bizarre music video which shows them as not caring about what people think, for their song "Fuck They" - who's they anyway?

Sofi Tukker are a duo consisting of Sophie Hawley-Weld and Tucker Halpern, who have been making waves with this track as well as their debut; "Drinkee" was the first song they released and it was nominated for a Grammy award in 2017 - talk about launching well on the music scene. They've gone from strength to strength, and this particular song is making waves all around the world and deserves to at least chart somewhere because we all can't get enough of it!

The description of the video describes what the song is about: "'They' is anything that holds you back from being who you are. Whoever 'they' is in your life / in your mind, Fuck They! Who's they anyway?" - I totally back this 100%, stay strong, go forth, and be whoever you want to be.

There is so much going on in this music video, it's hard to keep up with it all. There's Sofi Tukker at the basketball courts, there's them acting as dogs, there's them in a car and on top of the car, there's them on the street talking to each other through a tin can telephone; and, we mustn't forget the awesome graffiti jacket that we all just really want!

The role reversal ending makes it all worth watching in the end. I'm obsessed with this song and its music video, and I really believe Sofi Tukker are a duo we should be keeping our eyes on as they are at the forefront of this musical wave that is quirky and different but will seriously change music for the better. How people aren't jumping on their style, music, and concept - I do not know.

Chart Mondays: Dua Lipa - New Rules

New Rules - Dua Lipa |

I've nearly reviewed this music video a couple of times since it's been on my YouTube recommendations for weeks; however, I'm not a fan of Dua Lipa and haven't really enjoyed her music she has released previously but OMG this song is pure fire and the music video is a killer in every way. I saw her perform at Birmingham Pride - check out my reviews of the event on Fuzzable, Fox & Squirrel Photography, and Electric Mode. Yet, this video just puts her as an iconic figure in the music industry and I can't wait to see what the future brings for her, especially as this song is rising to the top of the UK Chart, where it deserves to be. At the moment "Feels" by Calvin Harris featuring Pharrell Williams, Katy Perry & Big Sean is at the top, knocking off that Spanglish song we all know and love. This one is set to rise but is currently at number five. Watch Dua Lipa in Miami's Confidante Hotel as she tries to make up her mind whether she should give her ex a second chance or not in this brilliant music video for "New Rules".

Dua Lipa first came on the scene through YouTube after she posted covers of her favourite songs - this is usually where talent is spotted nowadays, let's be honest. This female singer has proven her worth as she continues to bring out chart hits and has worked her way up to the top. Her collaboration with Sean Paul on "No Lie" definitely boosted her fame around the world. This song is my favourite from her to date, even if today was the first time I've seen the video - now I can't stop watching. The song was written by Caroline Ailin, Emily Warren, and Ian Kirkpatrick.

Directed by Henry Scholfield, this music video is a pure performance profile visual from start to finish. The inspiration came from a Naomi Campbell photo shoot with Versace, where she's on the back of another woman - it reference women looking out for each other and this music video is exactly that.

From the very start, we see Dua Lipa considering her ex whilst she's in the hotel room, but as the music video continues we see her confidence as the pre-chorus is repeated - which we totally love. The second take she is styled sexily and agrees with her girls whilst singing along, whereas the first take she's ready to take that guy back.

They head to the pool and she is fierce completely because she's told her new rules to herself again and again. As the third pre-chorus comes along, she's telling the exact same advice her friends told her to another friend who is trying to make the same decision she was.

It's a brilliant music video with plenty of stuff going on. Dua Lipa proves that she has everything going for her and that she's meant to be this massive force within the music industry - and boy does she not disappoint. This music video is everything and will be one we will continue to remember years later.

Alexis Jordan - Happiness

Happiness - Alexis Jordan |

I literally walked into a shop today and I swear an Alexis Jordan song was being played, but when I got home and looked up her songs, it wasn't any of them... So, who knows what that song was, I can't even remember the lyrics; so, instead I decided to review this song and video since it is beyond catchy and the video is very intricately put together and has a brilliant visual that keeps us entertained right until the very end. Watch Alexis Jordan fall for a guy in this monumental movement music video that is beyond iconic and completely memorable in every single way for her debut "Happiness".

Alexis Jordan launched onto the music scene back in 2010 with this very single. She first came to TVs all around the world when she competed in the first season of America's Got Talent at the age of 14. She was eliminated during the Semi-Finals. She then had a YouTube career where she uploaded covers, which brought her to the attention of Stargate and Jay-Z. She released an album and a few more singles before being dropped from Roc Nation and there's no sight of a second album on the horizon, unfortunately. Yet, she deserves to come back around and I'm sure she'll have another hit before we know it. This song was a chart success in many countries, including Australia, the UK, Norway, the Netherlands, Belgium, and Poland. The song was written by Joel Zimmerman, Mikkel S. Eriksen, Tor Erik Hermansen, Autumn Rowe, and Petr Brdičko. The song samples Deadmau5's "Brazil (2nd Edit)"

Directed by Aggressive, who has directed some very well-known music videos; this one is memorable in every way. It transports Alexis Jordan and her love interest, played by actor Tom Williamson, into this futuristic world where you literally don't have to walk anywhere as the world moves you forwards and backwards - sounds like the life.

It's very colourful throughout. There's a performance piece running alongside a narrative that keeps us entertained. Alexis Jordan performs on a platform surrounded by water. She's in-step with her backing dancers whilst keeping the spotlight on her throughout. If I'm honest, I'd rather have seen more from this scene than the others.

The narrative follows a concept of Alexis Jordan and Tom Williamson meeting for the first time and their connection growing - he clearly makes her happy. She drives past him at the bus stop as she is set to possibly leave town, but him in the mirror of the car makes her think twice. She soon hops in the driver's seat and reverses to find him, as the world battles against her as it guides her out of town.

The video is in-depth and very clever. I remember that it stood out on the music channels every time I saw it. It is completely bright and fun. It's different but in all the good ways possible. Even years later, everyone still remembers it. It's also completely relatable in every way.

Calvin Harris Featuring Tinie Tempah - Drinking From The Bottle

Drinking From the Bottle (feat. Tinie Tempah) - Calvin Harris |

I have fallen behind on my blog once again, so it's time for me to catch up and get back into the swing of things. My problem with this Saturday was that I went to see a bunch of rising talent at the Elite Showcase, which I reviewed for CelebMix. I thought one of their songs would stand out and I'd be reviewing the original to one of their covers, but that didn't happen. iTunes practically chose this song for me on this exact day as I listened to my music on shuffle. It's nice when great songs come back into your life, and this was one of them until I saw this weird as, music video; like seriously? It makes sense but I'm not keen on the performance piece at all. Watch Calvin Harris and Tinie Tempah perform in the middle of lots of twerking women, while we watch the devil raise havoc without anyone batting an eye in this music video for "Drinking From The Bottle".

Calvin Harris, real name Adam Wiles, is one of the biggest DJ's in the world. He continues to bring out hits and recently released a new album that featured a lot of collaborations and charted well internationally. This song in itself was a hit but only charted moderately well around the world. It did so much better in the clubs. It features Tinie Tempah, real name Patrick Okogwu, who also is an international star and who also dropped a new album this year. Both stars continue to prove that British artists are just as good as many US artists. This song charted in the UK at number five. The song was written by Calvin Harris, Patrick Okogwu, James F. Reynolds, and Mark Knight.

Directed by Vince Haycock, this music video has both a narrative and a performance piece; although, the latter is over the top for the female dancers who all just twerk. I feel like this doesn't allow Calvin Harris or Tinie Tempah to shine at all, and they kind of get lost.

The narrative is mildly okay as it does relate to the song somewhat. I love the initial story and it's quite weird that the devil is out exploring and no one really realises. I love that both the performance piece and the narrative collide when the devil is Calvin Harris and Tinie Tempah's taxi man.

Yet, it gets worse and the narrative turns into something I'm not into seeing, although many other people might be. I just feel that they tried to make some sort of statement that most people just aren't getting. There are much better ways of making such a statement. Regardless, the visual does relate to the song somewhat, and I do take an interest in what the devil is going to do next, even if it's something I don't approve of and find disgusting or repulsed by. Not interested in seeing this again, but I appreciate what they are trying to do. The devil is played by Brad Dourif and his friend Patrick is played by Pat-Ric Nasty (frontman of Vader Vader).

New Release: Alice Glass - Without Love

Without Love - Alice Glass |

Breaking away from Crystal Castles is Alice Glass, and her new single is currently the only new release I could find that had a music video; surely there are a lot more, there has to be. Oh well, this is the one I am reviewing today, and it's beyond quirky; that's pretty obvious from the thumbnail, alone. The music video dives deeper in a weird visual that keeps the audience glued to the screen whilst the droning track progresses into something we turn out loving, for some bizarre reason. Watch Alice Glass wrapped up in flowering vines as she sprinkles sweetness with a deadly threat in this music video for the similarly haunting song "Without Love".

Alice Glass is known as the former frontwoman of Crystal Castles. As part of the duo, she had great success when it came to their albums and have charted multiple times. Their biggest hit to date is "Not In Love" which features Robert Smith, the song is a cover of Platinum Blonde's "Not In Love". Since Alice Glass has left, Crystal Castles continues after bringing in a new female vocalist. As for Alice Glass, she is now starting to build a solo career, and with a brilliant debut track such as this one, we know that we'll be hearing a lot more from her. She previously released a charity single in 2015 titled "Stillbirth". Haunting and sweet at the same time, "Without Love" is an unexpected track that wraps itself around your head so that you never forget it.

The music video was directed by Floria Sigismondi; it premiered on The FADER who also co-produced it alongside MAAVVEN. It's a pure performance piece with profile scenes throughout, easily showing off Alice Glass' personality; you definitely wouldn't be disappointed at one of her concerts.

The scenes start from the weird and turn strange and then goes freaky. Alice Glass turns it out in every way for this video as we watch vines and flowers start to grow and trap her. The ending sees her in an empty swimming pool, almost being reincarnated as a flower-person.

Overall, it's a great concept and the song literally grows on you like the flowers do on Alice Glass. Turning something sweet and innocent into something deadly and so defining is incredible. I love how it's relatable to the song in every way and gets her message across even more so. Just wow!

Everything Everything - Cough Cough

Cough Cough - Everything Everything |

Such a crazy messed-up music video for my Thursday Revisit this week; yet, it's relatable to an extent. This song is Everything Everything's biggest UK Chart hit, and I swear I've heard it before - it must've been played on the radio often back then, surely. The song itself has an indie feel to it and feels like it has been released way too late, so it's lucky it was a chart hit, to an extent. This sort of music just isn't all that popular nowadays, but it's good to see that Everything Everything are changing in line with the times whilst keeping their signature sound. Watch Everything Everything perform their hit song in this black and white visual which has some disturbing themes and scenes as part of this music video for "Cough Cough".

Everything Everything are a four-piece band consisting of Jonathan Higgs, Jeremy Pritchard, Michael Spearman, and Alex Robertshaw. They are from the UK and have been going for many years, hence why I chose them for my Thursday Revisit as I haven't dipped into their music much. They are one of those bands that people know but have no idea why. Their longevity has obviously played a big part in that. This song peaked on the UK Singles Chart at number 37. It was written by Jonathan Higgs, Jeremy Pritchard, Michael Spearman, and Alex Robertshaw.

Directed by Jon Everything (AKA Jonathan Higgs), this music video is intricate in its concept. It's a pure performance piece but there's this whole idea behind it that is intense, along with some defining profile scenes. It sure is unforgettable.

There's lyrics shown throughout this music video so the audience can sing along at some points - no, these words have an impact on the audience and attempt to allow us to really get Everything Everything's song. The drums throughout is amazing to watch, all the band members are in-sync and it has this old-style feel to it; they are inspired by the Japanese Kodo Drummers.

Other scenes include a fuel pump, a gun, and oil. The song is about not having enough money to do what you want to the extent where you're doing a job you don't want to do just to make a living. It is a vicious cycle and poor jobless me can totally identify with this; according to the behind-the-scenes video, they chose oil as a replacement for money, which brings along this dark and depressing theme as a whole.

Overall, it's a great concept that not everyone will get let alone understand. Totally relatable, and the drumming scene is iconic. Congrats to these guys for pulling off this music video in every way. If there was a slight bit more of a connection I wouldn't be dropping a star, but apart from that, this is well-thought-out.

Snakehips & Anne-Marie Featuring Joey Bada$$ - Either Way

Either Way (feat. Joey Bada$$) - Snakehips & Anne-Marie |

What have I just watched? How does this video relate to this song? It doesn't! It's just a bunch of random clips put together to show diversity and real life. Although they're not bad, they don't really represent the song. I chose to review this music video due to it appearing on my YouTube Recommendations - since I'm a fan of Anne-Marie; unfortunately, she isn't in this music video but the featured star, Joey Bada$$, is. Watch a bunch of video clips that show different groups of people hanging out and having fun in this music video for Snakehips & Anne-Marie's "Either Way" featuring Joey Bada$$.

Snakehips are a DJ duo consisting of Oliver Lee and James Carter. They went viral with their collaboration with Tinashe and Chance The Rapper on "All My Friends" which charted internationally. They've had quite a successful career to date with many of their follow-ups charting around the world moderately well, and it seems this song follows suit. Anne-Marie, full name Anne-Marie Nicholson, is an inspiration to us all. She's one of those acts who has fought for her music career and fought and fought and fought. After a collaboration with Clean Bandit and Sean Paul on "Rockabye", she's finally made it! She continues to inspire all the fighters out there who are reaching for a career - such as myself - because we can all get there in the end; hard work and determination always pays off. This song features Joey Bada$$, real name Jo-Vaughn Scott, who is an American rapper and actor. He came to my attention when Kiesza featured on one of his album tracks, and he's one that will steadily grow and grow, one that will no doubt have a hit song go viral in the coming years. This song peaked on the UK chart at number 47, and I doubt it'll do better than that. It was written by James David, Julia Michaels, Warren Felder, Oliver Dickinson, and Jo-Vaughn Scott.

Directed by Hector Dockrill, this music video shows a bunch of clips of various friendship groups hanging out and chilling. Billboard asked "How do you spend your Saturdays?" and that is certainly what this music video showcases.

There are various scenes from drag queens getting ready to young adults pulling wheelies on bicycles in the streets. There's a lot of smoking and clubbing going on - the latter of which I would totally spend every one of my Saturdays doing if I had the money to do so.

Is there anything else I can comment on? Not really. There's just no substance or relatability to this music video. Nothing here that makes me want to repeat this visual, and although it shows off real life it just doesn't give me anything that I want to see.

Alexandra Stan - Noi 2

Noi 2 - Alexandra Stan

Another new song from Alexandra Stan and I can't get enough of it. I have written this up for CelebMix, so I had to write it up for my own blog too! Unfortunately, I don't have the money to buy this single from iTunes, just yet, but I'm ready to do so as soon as I have money. This is one killer song and her first that is completely sung in Romanian. Watch Alexandra Stan be flirty, sultry, and teasing in this music video for her new song "Noi 2" - pronounced "Noi Doi".

Alexandra Stan is the superstar female Romanian singer who had international fame with her hit song "Mr Saxobeat". Since then she has continued with her music career, building upon her success whilst dealing with issues amongst other things. This is her follow-up to "Boy Oh Boy"; it hasn't been released officially yet, but I expect it to be out in the next few days. It makes a change to hear her sing a solo song completely in her home language of Romanian - which certainly is a beautiful language, especially in music. This song was written by Alexandra Stan & Chriss JustUs.

Directed by Bogdan Paun, this music video is cheeky from start to finish. The main scene is Alexandra Stan spending time with her girls on a yacht in the middle of the sea.

She's being flirtatious throughout this music video, especially with her big blow up banana and where they take the towel from that guy. This guy definitely looks like Alexandra Stan's lover Staruiala Bogdan - who has a photo on his Instagram of him on the yacht in Constanta, Romania; so we can presume this is where the music video was filmed.

The most stylish scene is the circus themed clips where Alexandra Stan is wearing a fun playsuit that looks amazing on her. Stylish and sexy, Alexandra Stan nails this video and it's something that we can all keep watching again and again and again. Finally, we have a Romanian solo single from her and it's one we can't help but love!

Chart Mondays: Sigala & Ella Eyre - Came Here For Love

Came Here For Love - Sigala & Ella Eyre |

This was a totally hot team up! Sigala and Ella Eyre were meant to collaborate on a song together. "Came Here For Love" is full of that summer DJ sound which encompasses the warmth of this season. This song has been hanging around the top ten for a while, and since Luis Fonsi & Daddy Yankee has made it to their 11th non-consecutive week at the top of the UK Charts with "Despacito" featuring Justin Bieber, I thought I'd review this one since I don't see it hanging around for long. Watch Ella Eyre perform at the colourful Las Palmitas for this Sigala music video for the song "Came Here For Love" which infuses summer in every way.

Sigala, real name Bruce Fielder, continues to bring out amazing songs after amazing songs. They've all managed to chart well around the world. He has helped to launch careers whilst collaborating with big names in the industry. He promised that an album will be released in the future, and we still wait for that day, even after his eight lead singles. "Came Here For Love" is in collaboration with Ella Eyre, real name Ella McMahon. She's one of these singers who do well with features and does all right by herself but she is someone who deserves so much more credibility. This song, much like her other collaborations, has launched her right back into the spotlight, and she needs to ride this wave once again; and, hopefully, succeed in staying in the limelight once and for all, otherwise she might not get another chance. This song was written by Bruce Fielder, Ella McMahon, Cédric Steinmyller, Bryn Christopher, and Scott Wild.

This music video was directed by Craig Moore and set in the Las Palmitas neighbourhood in Pachuca, Hidalgo, Mexico. It's truly colourful and beautiful; a perfect setting for this video.

There's not a lot going on in the visual, Ella Eyre fits in well with the location due to her fashion choices that suit her completely. The rest of the video pretty much showcases this beautiful neighbourhood.

Other scenes relate to the song perfectly, showing off couples interacting with each other to the extent that we feel the message that Ella Eyre is portraying - even if I don't want to. If you have read my previous blog post on Brandon Stansell's "Slow Down", you'll understand how I'm feeling at the moment.

Overall, this music video definitely captures the summer spirit within a beautiful place. It's not all that much of a memorable video as they focus on the neighbourhood itself rather than any sort of narration but it does keep the audience interested in watching more.

Brandon Stansell Featuring Ty Herndon - Slow Down

Slow Down (feat. Ty Herndon) - Brandon Stansell |

YouTube Recommendations brought me to this music video and hence why I'm reviewing it on my blog today; what I wasn't expecting is to see this loving music video that heightens my jealousy, especially since this guy I've been seeing hasn't been replying to me since our last date (which was five days ago, by the way). I've now come to terms with the fact that it's over, even though not messaging me doesn't mean it's over, he definitely has no chance at crawling back into my life - no thanks! Anyways, this is a very loving story and ever-so-cute. We all want this in our lives, and for most of us, the perfect guy does come along. Watch Brandon Stansell be a hitchhiker as Rich Hill picks him up in his truck, which breaks down. They go and find a caravan where they spend time together in this very cute music video for "Slow Down".

Brandon Stansell is one of newest country stars on the scene, who is also gay; trying to make his music career. He is gearing up to launch his Kickstarter campaign, which has helped many other musicians in the past, including my favourite gay male artist Steve Grand - check out "All American Boy" if you haven't already. He has already released an EP and three singles (which came together as a second EP). He has 2,500 subscribers on YouTube and has been viewed over 271,000 times. He is definitely building his brand and a Kickstarter campaign may be exactly what he needs! This song has received almost 75,000 YouTube views and is his second most-watched video behind "Never Know". The song features the well-known country music star Ty Herndon, who came out as gay at the end of 2014. He was a big hit in the late 90's but his career has certainly slowed in recent years. The song was written by MYLEN & Brandon Stansell.

Directed by Trent Atkinson, this music video feels like a slight ode to Shania Twain's "That Don't Impress Me Much", as she too is a hitchhiker in the desert; only he does what we all think she should've done and said yes to the hot guy who tried to help her out. Yet, it's to his detriment as the truck breaks down and they end up spending time together in the desert. This was all filmed in Joshua Tree, California.

They go exploring and find a caravan with an outdoor shower - allowing us to ogle his love interest who is actor Rich Hill. At the end, they head back to the road and try to hitchhike but there are no cars, so they turn around and head back.

Overall, this visual relates to this song in every way. We all want to sit in a caravan with someone who is beyond hot and cares for us completely. We all need that time to slow down with the guy we like - I just need to keep one around for more than two weeks for that to even be an option for me.

LIZ LOKRE - Buh Bye

Buh Bye - Liz Lokre |

I have just written up an article about this song and music video for Outlet Magazine, so I thought I might as well write a blog post about the visual too. She's pretty new on the scene, after launching her music career last year, but LIZ LOKRE is certainly gaining momentum and definitely one for us all to keep our eyes on. This song does remind me of Drake feat. Rihanna's song "Too Good", but only slightly. Watch LIZ LOKRE bring a burst of colour with this infectious confident track that energises all the viewers to be sassy and be prepared to say "Buh Bye"; perfect motivation throughout this music video!

LIZ LOKRE, previously known as Liz Loughrey, launched her debut single "Rise Up!" last year, and this one is her second single release. Both songs have over 150,000 streams on Spotify, which just goes to show how catchy her music really is. This song, in particular, is sultry and hot, whilst bringing some soul into this undeniable pop song. I could so imagine this being remixed with Drake feat. Rihanna's "Too Good", it'll just work perfectly.

Directed by Sean McBride & Caroline Torti, the latter of which also acted as the choreographer, this music video is a pure performance visual surrounded by a full on burst of colour. It has a pop-art feel to it and contains LIZ LOKRE knocking out killer choreography with two backing dancers.

It's complete confidence throughout with LIZ LOKRE keeping the spotlight on her. She is seriously telling us "Buh Bye" and she means every single word of the song. This singer/songwriter proves that she deserves to be in the music industry and needs so much more recognition.

Overall, the music video is great to watch, and something I could watch over and over. She totally nails the choreography throughout. There are no distractions and it's very colourful. There isn't a love interest, unfortunately, but this video is fire nonetheless.
