This is all so cute, definitely not a false alarm, their love for each other is sweet and lovely, and yet there's is alarm bells going off. This is definitely one of my favourite new songs this year, and Becky Hill has been the one to watch for a few years now, but she has really come into her own this year. Matoma and Becky Hill don't star in this music video for False Alarm, however her vocals are perfection as we watch a couple's loving relationship.
Matoma, real name Tom Lagergren, is a DJ from Norway, who has been going for a number of years and is currently working on an album, which this single will be a part of. He is respected within the music industry, having remixed many songs from Eminem to Enrique Iglesias. This song with Becky Hill proves that his debut album will be a must-hear. Becky Hill is also a part of this song, her vocals have always captured me ever since she appeared on The Voice UK series one, and although she waited many years to push aside The Voice UK as it definitely comes with a stigma, she has really proven herself as an amazing vocalist and she is now the biggest contestant to come out of the singing contest. We are all hoping that there is an album around the corner. This song is effortlessly catchy and was written by Daniel Davidsen, Mich Hansen, Peter Wallevik, James Newman, Kara DioGuardi, Rebecca Claire Hill & Tom Stræte Lagergren. Directed by Samy Mosher, this very visualised music video really captures the essence of young love that's everlasting. These two are clearly meant to be together, and if the actors aren't then they are amazing at what they do because it comes across so real. Their experiences take a turn for the worse as scenes turn into a hospital setting where the guy is being assessed for quarantine. After a bit of confusion as to why, we later find out that a burning sensation flows down his veins and fire spurts out of his palms.
Taking some of the lyrics literal, this is a great translation of the song especially from the chorus where Becky Hill sings:
"I'm dancing in flames, I ain't scared of the blaze, Don't rescue me, And now I'm burning in your arms, Endless fire in my heart, No it's not a false alarm."
Overall, a fire song that deserves to rank up the official UK charts, and a visual translated music video that is definitely full of flames and connections. Kind of quirky and different, and surely stands out on the music channels. This unnatural idea is totally developed and is quite stunning, in more ways than one.
This was a hard decision today, considering many of the new releases do not have a music video. Luckily for me, Bon Jovi came through and has a music video for their new song. This catchy little song is quite weird, and I'm not quite sure what to make of it. Thing is, whenever anyone mentions Bon Jovi, I always think of "Livin' On A Prayer", "It's My Life" or "Always", this song just doesn't live up to the a rock vibes of those songs. This isn't classic Bon Jovi and will be forgotten before we even heard it. Bon Jovi are back planting their roots and singing about a house that is not for sale. A visual video accompanies the song, but more could have been done.
Bon Jovi are a five-piece rock band consisting of Jon Bon Jovi, David Bryan, Tico Torres, Phil X and Hugh McDonald. Recently, they haven't been charting on the singles charts, and although their latest album charted well on the albums front, singles-wise this band may never hit the charts hard again. Have they lost their way? Not really, this song is a good rock song, but it's set in the 00's when this sort of music was doing well, nowadays rock isn't really in the charts, and the bands that have made it have totally switched it up. Bon Jovi is just trying to bring classic rock back and it's totally not working, they need a new sound. This song was written by Jon Bon Jovi, John Shanks and Billy Falcon.
The music video is directed by Indrani and there is not much going on. Mainly a performance-based video, Bon Jovi are looking totally old.
They are definitely old rockers, and they are just trying to bring back their old sound, but there's barely any energy as they perform the song. This is not what we expect when we watch a Bon Jovi music video and this music video just doesn't make the cut.
Some amazing visual conceptions in the video, but nothing that takes off and not enough are used throughout. I love the ending as the house grows roots and plants itself into the ground, totally suggesting that the house is not for sale, and yet it's not developed whatsoever.
Overall, a very simple music video that isn't all that memorable. I'm all for Bon Jovi continuing on, and releasing music for their fans, and if all my favourite artists did that when they're old I'll be extremely grateful. Yet they need to get on their music video game and improve their sound overall.
I actually can't believe I haven't reviewed this music video yet. So lets make amends on my blog. I chose the director's cut, since it isn't much different from the original release, just less steam and more nakedness, but nothing too profound. For my Thursday Revisit, after watching "Make Me...", this is how you do a first single music video of a new album. "Make Me..." isn't a typical Britney Spears music video, THIS IS! This put Britney Spears back where she belonged, it was her name on everyone's lips, "Make Me..." just hasn't done that. Britney shows her man who's boss and proves that he is a womanizer. You don't mess with Britney Spears and get away with it!
Britney Spears is one of the biggest stars around and she is still releasing music, although you may not know it since she hasn't been hitting the charts hard recently. Believe it or not, she has never had a UK number one album, and unless she pulls something out of the bag, her latest album 'Glory', which is set to release at the end of the month, is just not going to get to the top. Especially after the fiasco of "Make Me...". This song, however, should've got to number one. Instead it settled at number three behind Leona Lewis' "Run" and Take That's "Greatest Day". It was the first single to be taken from her 'Circus' album, which got to number four. Could she turn things around? It looks doubtful, although her instant grat singles aren't doing so badly. Womanizer was written by Nikeshia Briscoe and Rafael Akinyemi.
Directed by Joseph Kahn, he strikes again, this music video is fire! We expect nothing less of him nowadays. Britney Spears' love interest is male actor Brandon Stoughton.
This is a Britney video! Narration with a performance piece set throughout. She shows how brave she is in the sauna, proving to the world that she hasn't put weight on and that she is totally healthy once again. This single will always be my mark to Britney being back and healthy again.
Throughout the video, we see Britney in disguise, much like "Toxic", with a few references to the previous video, this almost works as a follow-up, not quite though.
She's seen as a receptionist, a waitress and a chauffeur. Proving to herself and her boyfriend that he is a womanizer and that he gets up to all things when Britney Spears is not around. So at the end she gets her revenge and magically makes him disappear.
The dancing is stiff and not so flawless as we're used to from Britney Spears, regardless there's dancing, which is more than what can be said about new music video for "Make Me...".
Extremely stylish and fashion-based for 2008, it proves that Britney Spears is on form and knows what she wants. And it certainly isn't womanizer: Brandon Stoughton.
Brandon Stoughton is gorgeously sexy, he is one fine on-screen boyfriend, visual-wise, and definitely the perfect fit for a womanizer, he just has that look about him. Brilliant acting from him, he makes it seem so real, whilst Britney Spears is perfect as always.
This music video is amazing, everything is thought of, every detail, every outfit, every style, and every scene. Britney Spears' dancing might be slightly off in the video, but we know she's back on form right now at her Las Vegas residency. If only I could fly out and go and see her.
Greece's entrant into the Eurovision Song Contest 2014, was definitely a fan favourite, but clearly didn't quite do it on the night, only managing to place at number 20, with 35 points. This catchy track will become one of the great Eurovision songs that never won, or even came close, and yet I will not stop playing it at the parties I host. Freaky Fortune and RiskyKidd team up for this simple performance-based music video for "Rise Up", not quite rising anywhere though.
Freaky Fortune are a Greek duo consisting of Nikolas Raptakis and Theofilos Pouzbouris. The former has gone on to start a solo career, releasing a few singles here and there. Whether the duo is still together, is a question we may not be able to answer, but having already won a Perez Hilton competition early in their career, it suggests we need this duo to return. Featuring on the track is RiskyKidd, real name Shane Schuller, has continued on with his career since this track and is actively releasing singles. Collaborating on this track together, they competed in Eurosong 2014 - a MAD show, Greece's national selection show for the Eurovision Song Contest 2014, which they won. The song was written by Freaky Fortune and RiskyKidd.
Direction by Alex Grammatopoulos, the music video is extremely simplistic. Freaky Fortune fails to entertain as they sing the song in this video.
Close ups of Theofilos Pouzbouris producing the track is the most advancement of the music video we get. Otherwise we have a lot of jumping from RiskyKidd and Nikolas Raptakis where they really aren't rising up to anything.
Clearly the budget was blown on the stage production of the song, which didn't even help the acts get a high placing on the leader board of the Grand Final. Trampolines used in the stage performance are no where in sight of this music video, unfortunately.
With little else to comment on, because there is literally nothing going on in this music video, the stars fail to give performance vibes for this song, and although their vocals are on point, the video just doesn't do a thing.
It seems split-screen music videos are a massive thing nowadays, we've already had The Girl and the Dreamcatcher's "Make You Stay" split-screen music video, and now this one, wonder what song will be next. Regardless, Charlie Puth and Selena Gomez harmonise amazingly on this extremely catchy song that I definitely can't get enough of recently. As for the music video, the concept is hard to follow with the split-screen, Charlie Puth and his ex go about their lives apart because they don't talk anymore, whilst Selena Gomez doesn't even appear.
Charlie Puth, Grammy nominated singer and a chart success, he has had many hits already including number ones "Marvin Gaye" and "See You Again". This track marks his third single from his debut album. This won't be the last we hear of him. Featured on this track is the amazing Selena Gomez, although you wouldn't know it from the music video. She compliments Charlie Puth's vocals in this song, making it melodically beautiful. The song only charted at number 26 in the UK, although it's definitely worth a higher peak position. The song was written by Charlie Puth, Jacob Kasher Hindlin and Selena Gomez.
Directed by Phil Pinto, it relates to the song perfectly. Showing the lives of two people who's lives used to revolve around one another but now they lead separate lives. Unfortunately, Selena Gomez doesn't appear in this split-screen video as she is busy with her tour. Her absence is badly received since she is a crucial part of the song. This isn't the first time this has happened, most-recently Zara Larsson didn't appear in Tinie Tempah's "Girls Like".
The video, as I previously mentioned, includes a split-screen, which is definitely all the range lately, however it never unites unlike The Girl and the Dreamcatcher's "Make You Stay".
This video shows a broken relationship and how each person wants to reach out but they don't talk anymore so although they constantly think of one another they don't message or talk.
Interestingly, iMessage is used, which tells people when the other person is typing something. This becomes even more heartfelt as the other person knows they're typing and then deleting the message, it's like a double stabbing in the heart.
There's a lot to like about this music video, especially seeing them do variously similar things, such as crossing the road and going out with friends.
Overall, this is a fully narrative music video, that is totally engaging yet a little difficult to follow as it's not easy to concentrate on both sides of the split-screen. The effect is nothing new to us, and is played about and edited interestingly. No one can deny the complexity of this video, nor how it relates to the song. However it's completely missing Selena Gomez!
The DJ duo that just keeps coming back and back and back, with hit after different hit after completely different hit. This is nothing like the "#Selfie" song that we experienced a few years ago. The Chainsmokers are on a roll with their most-recent songs and the way they are going, they're not going to go down. With Major Lazer still happy sitting at number one on the UK chart with the "Cold Water" track which features Justin Bieber and MØ and still no music video, it opens my Chart Mondays up to the UK Top 10. This song looks like it's going to be in the chart for some time. Bouncing up and down in a hydraulics car, The Chainsmokers are not allowed to let Daya down, so instead they become stranded in the air, whilst Daya steels the car in this weird video for "Don't Let Me Down".
The Chainsmokers consist of Andrew Taggart and Alex Pall. They have had various hits over the years and various not-so hits that definitely should've been. Every chart hit has been different from the rest, and they really are proving themselves as one of the hottest DJ duos around. These two definitely don't mess around, or maybe they do in the studio. Featuring on this track is Daya, real name Grace Tandon; she is the new girl on the scene. At just 17, she's already had a global hit called "Hide Away", which didn't quite make the UK chart, but got on the UK indie chart. her follow-up didn't fare so well. She released a self-titled EP. With this song blowing up worldwide, and her vocals killing it, she is definitely one to watch! This song was written by Andrew Taggart, Emily Warren and Scott Harris.
This video was directed by Marcus Kuhne, and it is definitely a low budgeted music video, that or they just spent the entire budget on a car that has awesome hydraulics.
A lot of editing clearly went into this, however the story line really isn't thought out, like why are The Chainsmokers walking into the car in the first place... If they were exiting a building or a house, fair enough, but it looks like they've just been out for a stroll and they've seen this car all by itself and decided to take it for a ride. Or they really did park there and stood around looking at the trees before hopping back in the car... Maybe, just maybe, they were playing Pokemon Go and had found a Mewtwo, we all would pull over to catch that.
Daya is just wondering through the forest with her girls. She's clearly not a dancer, but she is one hell of a performer, I mean this girl was meant to be on screen, although she seems totally out of place as the girls dance around her; it adds a bit more dramatic effect I suppose.
This entire video doesn't make sense whatsoever, apart from launching The Chainsmokers into the air so they are stranded and can't possibly let anyone down. Maybe they did let Daya down once upon a time and this is her revenge, whatever the meaning of this video is, it's something we'll probably never understand. Regardless Daya performs amazingly, whilst The Chainsmokers practise their stability in an extreme hydraulic car.
There is a lot of controversy around this music video. Mainly because the original music video got completely scrapped, you know the one filmed by David LaChapelle, and has been teased for months? Well now we have a video quite different than what was teased, and one that many aren't exactly happy with, but only because we know we're missing out on the original. If we had never known about it, then this would be a perfectly normal Britney Spears music video, that no one had a problem with. Britney Spears and her girls audition male actors, where she chooses one guy to take back to her bedroom, he will definitely Make Me Ooh!
Britney Spears is about to make a career comeback, or so we all thought. But she's lost so many potential pre-orders because of the public controversy over this music video. This song isn't the next "Work Bitch", it's not the next "Womanizer" and it's quite a simple and relaxed single that none of us really expected and doesn't defy the music industry the way we had been promised. Clearly too much hype surrounded this release, and 'Glory', her ninth studio album, might just be one of the worst releases in quite some time. Britney Spears has got to pull it all back, release something to make us go ooh! Something that puts her back on the top once again, Yet it looks completely unlikely that will happen. This song features G-Eazy, real name Gerald Gillum, who is getting around a lot, he is definitely the rapper to watch who is featuring in a lot of songs and is batting out chart hits. This is the first song, he's been in, that I really like his contribution because it goes with the beat of the track. This song was written by Britney Spears, Matthew Burns, Joe Janiak and Gerald Gillum.
Directed by Randee St. Nicholas, this video was planned to be totally different, with a different director. The David LaChapelle version will go unreleased for the foreseeable future, but some clips from the original has been kept.
Britney Spears and her girls starts off this music video, asking a 'Michael' to come along on Saturday and to bring some friends, only Michael never appears again in the video. The cackle of the girls is quite scary and unnatural and Britney Spears looks completely lost and not into it whatsoever.
We zoom forward to Saturday, and we watch them interview guys, most of which take off their shirts to let us marvel at their rippling gorgeous bodies, the winner gets to spend time with Britney Spears in bed.
Relatable and definitely sexy, this video is totally engaging as you try to work out who will win. However Britney Spears doesn't look that into it, a solo dance sequence which includes repeated steps and quite a lack-lustre performance, Britney Spears is totally missing her back-up dancers.
G-Eazy's scene is completely edited from the original video, which would've shown him having sex whilst singing his lyrics, hence the unbuttoning of his shirt. Although his verse is fire, his scene is totally out of place and unnecessary.
Overall, this video fails continuity, it fails to show variety, and we're back with Britney Spears looking a little on the lost side. This music video is easily forgettable amongst her famous releases, and she has got to do something soon to make us all want to buy her new album. She has yet to get a UK number one album, and 'Glory' doesn't look set to make it to the top of the UK charts.
Katy Perry is back with this uplifting track, that is definitely a grower. Dropped at the same time as Britney Spears' "Make Me...", this song took a prominent push back on my listening scale as I repeatedly fell in love with Britney Spears' "Make Me...", hearing this occasionally though has made me love this song too, definitely a grower. It more than describes the situation I'm in, I'm fighting for my career and I'm determined to rise, to become who I'm meant to me, regardless of what others may be saying. Katy Perry proves that you have to fight, you have to keep going, achieve your dreams because you will rise, hard work pays off.
An inspiration to us all, Katy Perry, real name Katheryn Hudson, has really made herself one of the biggest female singers in the world. This single is a non-album single and will be heavily featured during the US viewing of the 2016 Summer Olympics. It has charted worldwide and has been well received. It was written by Katy Perry, Max Martin, Ali Payami and Savan Kotecha.
Directed by Paul Gore, the video features a parachute much like Christina Milian's "Rebel", only Katy Perry adds a much better narrative and performance piece.
Accompanying the music video perfectly, Katy Perry battles with the parachute, trains herself to use it properly so in the end she will rise, rise high into the sky.
During the drama, she almost falls off a cliff, cuts herself on the parachute wires and gets caught up in a rain storm.
But in the end, as we all know she's a fighter, she flies up into the sky. She defeats all the doubts and proves that she can do this. Such an inspiration, we need more music videos like this.
However this video doesn't have much going on, and although it's showing a full story, it's quite slow and gradual and although rising in the real world is gradual, there's just something missing overall.
Another X Factor star, this time a winner, who has just released her first song away from Syco, Simon Cowell's record label. The song is weak, it's slightly catchy but doesn't display Sam Bailey's amazing vocal ability the way we know certain songs can. She was a worthy winner of The X Factor, but I feel that she hasn't had a song that shows her off as a worthy winner. This one tries but it just doesn't work. Sam Bailey performs on a stage while scenes of her family life are shown, the "Sing My Heart Out" video is cute and lovely but nothing more.
Winner of the tenth series of The X Factor, Sam Bailey released just one album under Syco before parting ways with that record label. Now free from Simon Cowell, she released this single under Tiger Drum record label. She's an inspiration to a lot of people, proving that you are never too old to make your dreams a reality, and yet she isn't doing so well on the iTunes chart. This song is too weak, I've seen her sing so many better songs whilst watching The X Factor, that's it's kind of disappointing this has been released. However I can't deny that her vocals are strong and although it seems held back, I know she has more to give. I just hope she releases a second single that is much better before dropping the album.
This music video is mainly performance based with snapshots of her home life. It's really cute that she has included her family in this video, although exposing children to the media is a little worrying, but it works well and expresses how happy she is.
The home videos doesn't really go with the meaning of the song, apart from the fact that it proves she is a mother and that she is singing her heart out to inspire them.
As for the performance side, she gives it her all, and yet she looks completely nervous up on that stage, in front of an empty audience. The song is not the best but Sam Bailey gives it her best shot.
Overall an average music video that isn't engaging or interesting, along with a song that fails to impress... What does is her vocals, we know what they are like and even if this song doesn't show them enough you can tell that her vocals are strong. Now please release a follow-up that is something we'd put on repeat any day!
Thursday Revisit, so I chose this song from Lindsay Lohan's small collection purely because it's the only single that has charted in the UK to date. It's such a catchy ballad song that it doesn't surprise me that it charted, although I much preferred her debut "Rumours". Lindsay Lohan pines for a guy who she loves across the street, yet his parents are stopping them from seeing one another, she looks like a bad influence, but with a shocking ending, is it really "Over"?
Lindsay Lohan may be known for her film career, but she has dipped into music in the past, and actually did a good job of contributing to the music industry. Weirdly, this song is the only one that charted in the UK, although it's probably the weakest of her singles she released. A powerful song about an on-off relationship the music video twists the meaning which makes it slightly confusing. It was written by Lindsay Lohan, Kara DioGuardi and John Shanks.
Jake Nava directed this music video which contains both a narrative and a performance. It was inspired by the 1999 film American Beauty. Her love interest is played by the actor Drew Fuller.
The narrative is interesting but so bitty, it's hard to follow because there is more focus on Drew Fuller's relationship with his parents, it's a complicated plot line that would probably work much better in a film or a longer music video, but the restraints on the amount of time for this video really impacts the story line, However, Lindsay Lohan's acting skills definitely come natural and Drew Fuller makes this just as good, it's so believable that it's easy to get caught up in this music video.
The performance side of things is cut through the narrative with a series of snapshots and scenes, Lindsay Lohan puts on an acting performance and it's clear this song means a lot to her, you can definitely tell she wrote some of it. She has a clear connection to the song, and has so much energy whilst singing, I'm totally seeing her live if she does a concert in the UK!
The ending is shocking and although it could be a lot worse, it's quite surprising. Honestly, I'm glad I have a family who supports me and I can rely on. They may not agree with all the decisions I make, but they know that it's my life. It's always been like that, and I don't know how I'd have been able to cope if I had parents like he did.
This video is relatable, intriguing and totally engaging. The story is developed too quickly, there's clearly more to this than what we have seen, and it would totally work as a much longer video, maybe as a short film.... But apart from that it has a great interesting narrative and a cracking performance that Lindsay Lohan smashes!
Back to my Eurovision posts, since the 2017 contest isn't so far away now. This is Italy's entry into the Eurovision Song Contest 2014, Emma scored 33 points placing her 21st in the contest. "La Mia Città" means 'In My City' in English. A strong vocal for this song, the video doesn't accompany it that well. Emma goes all out for this performance-based music video for "La Mia Città", with different fashion styles.
Emma, full name Emma Marrone, is a prolific Italian singer, with many singles and albums to her name. She has made such a massive career for herself in her own country, it's surprising she hasn't tried to become internationally known, although I guess you could say she gave it a try by competing in the 2014 Eurovision Song Contest. Since then, she hasn't done much, but I'm guessing she is working on a new album. The song was written by Emma Marrone.
Directed by Leandro Manuel Emede and Nicolo' Cerioni, this video is a visual performance piece with very little going on. Styling by Nicolo' Cerioni, the outfits that Emma wears are eccentric including a Minnie or Mickey Mouse costume that is totally over the top and yet Emma pulls it off perfectly.
Totally eccentric but you know Emma could give the perfect performance on a stage, you'd totally want to see her live and this is exactly what this music video does.
Yet it has no substance, flavour and nothing to keep the viewers interested. This music video is way too simple considering the strong song and vocal that goes with it.
So Saturday night, S Club, along with Booty Luv and Big Brovaz, performed at the hottest gay nightclub in Birmingham, The Nightgale for their 00's themed party. Believe it or not, but this was the song that blew up the club, it was FIRE and Jo O'Meara's vocals were perfection. It may not be my favourite S Club 7 song, and I may have my annoyances in Jo O'Meara singing every verse in it's entirety, and therefore making the other members backing vocalists; I can't deny that this is just a pure ballad banger of a song. S Club 7 go for a wintry performance piece for this video, Jo O'Meara takes lead vocals and lead scenes as she shows off her technical vocal ability.
The seven piece group S Club 7 had a string of hits and successes. They consisted of Jo O'Meara, Bradley McIntosh, Paul Cattermole, Tina Barrett, Hannah Spearritt, Rachel Stevens and Jon Lee. This song was a turning point for me with this group, I didn't appreciate having a solo vocalist with the other group members harmonising during the chorus, it's not how a group should sing songs, and although Jo O'Meara may have had the strongest voice, it shouldn't have meant she got the whole song to herself. The song was sung as a solo in Seeing Double, so in theory it is Jo O'Meara's song and not really an S Club song. It was written by Cathy Dennis and Simon Ellis.
Directed by Andy Morahan, the video has a wintry feel for this break-up song. A full performance piece with Jo O'Meara taking centre stage as she sings most of the song, whilst the other group members offer harmonies and support.
There is very little substance to this music video, Jo O'Meara does her best with the song, but it's a clear separation between her and the rest of the group. The girls and the boys are separated and the wintry scene makes it feel like a Christmas song.
This ballad is one of their iconic songs, and yet the music video is slow and not interesting enough, it looks a bit like Atomic Kitten's "Eternal Flame". Overall, there's not much to comment on, amazing song but probably better as a solo song, with an unengaging accompanying music video.
Drake's "One Dance" has finally been knocked off the top spot after 15 weeks. Of course, it just had to be Justin Bieber that did it, he features on the number one song from Major Lazer called "Cold Water" which also has vocals from MØ. Yet trust it to be another song without a music video, and therefore opening the top 10 of the UK singles chart to my Chart Mondays. This song stayed at number two for a few weeks, and rivalled Drake's "One Dance", grabbing number one during the mid-weeks only to officially hit number two. The song is the number one that never was, but totally should've been, which reminds me of Maroon 5's "Moves Like Jagger". Focusing purely on the girl in a relationship, Kungs Vs Cookin' On 3 Burner's video for "This Girl" is slow but mesmerising,
Kungs, real name Valentin Brunel, is a French DJ who will definitely be releasing hit after hit. His exotic sounds takes us all back to a different time period in the sunshine, yet he is just 19. I am extremely excited to see how bright his future will be, because music like this is very popular, so he definitely won't be disappearing anywhere soon. Featuring is Cookin' On 3 Burners, an R&B, soul and funk trio consisting of Jake Mason, Dan West and Ivan Khatchoyan. This is originally their song with vocals from Kylie Auldist, which was then mixed by Kungs to create this awesome song, it's not the first time a remix has boosted a song's popularity and I'm sure it won't be the last time. The song was written by Jake Mason, Lance Ferguson and Ivan Khatchoyan.

Not a lot goes on in the music video, just mainly focusing on the developing relationship between these two lovers. The camera focuses more on Irina Martynenko, understandably since the song is about a girl.
However they have totally sexed her up and included more visuals of her being sexy than even attempting to make Louïs Rault Watanabe comparably similar in his visuals.
They could be a model couple, and yet they fail to focus on the guy in the relationship as much as they have with the girl.
On the other hand it's sweet, and fills me with jealousy since I want that one day, to escape with someone and be in love, even if we never truly escape to a remote place to ourselves. This is sweet, innocent, well maybe not so innocent in one of the scenes, and definitely loving. It goes well with the bright upbeat song, definitely one of the summer anthems of 2016, and one that never quite reached the UK top spot.
YouTube suggested this music video on the home page, so why not include Lindsay Lohan into my blog? She is working on new music material, according to an announcement which she made, but since she doesn't want to clash with her younger sister Ali Lohan, she can't confirm whether a third album will materialise. It was supposed to be released back in 2008, when most recent single "Bossy" was released, but work on that album ceased. Starting from scratch, we might see Lindsay Lohan make a great return to the music industry, or it might just not work out yet again. The paparazzi are once again at blame in this video, as Lindsay Lohan fights back against the media in this music video for debut single Rumours.
Lindsay Lohan is mostly known for her acting roles rather than her music. However her music career isn't as bad as you might think and it is certainly nothing to be snubbed about. She's hit charts around the world, including the UK with single "Over". Most recently, she collaborated with Duran Duran on "Danceophobia" for their 2015 album Paper Gods. Whether her comeback to music will make an impact, is something we may never find out about, but as long as she releases the music she wants, all will be fine. She currently owes her record label one more album, which is why she is recording new music. This song was her debut single and was written by Cory Rooney, Lindsay Lohan, Taryll Jackson and TJ Jackson. It feels like two Britney Spears songs combined together: "My Prerogative" and "Piece of Me".
As for the music video, it was directed by Jake Nava, and must definitely have been the inspiration for Miley Cyrus' "Fly On The Wall" and "Can't Be Tamed" as many scenes and features look and feel too similar.
It relates to the song as it revolves around the media's attention of Lindsay Lohan at the time. This has been done plenty of times, and it proves how much paparazzi was a problem back then for these stars, and to this day it still is a massive problem that isn't really dealt with, and I don't think it will be, which means singers will keep releasing these types of singles and music videos for years to come.
Lindsay Lohan looks completely stylish, as she avoids paparazzi in this video. She also gets with a very gorgeous guy, who happens to be her on-screen boyfriend. At the end there is photos of them kissing on a camera which she later drops out of the helicopter.
There's many different scenes, including Lindsay Lohan being trapped in a bird cage, I wonder who copied this later for their music video... Miley Cyrus' "Can't Be Tamed" anyone?
The dance scene has great choreography that is performed to perfection, Lindsay Lohan proves she's more than just an actress and she really can perform.
Overall, this music video deserves to be watched, it's more than what everyone first expected and it's not surprising since back then she was an amazing actress. Nowadays people are rating her badly because of her problems, yet I will forever support her like I did as a child. I hope Lindsay Lohan makes an astonishing comeback to the music industry, because I shall be backing her corner every step of the way.
Here comes a prolific ballad sure to melt our hearts, not quite the pop ballad we expect to hear from Shawn Mendes, and one that is totally a different direction. It manages to show versatility, becoming a possible stand-out track on his new album (something we won't be able to be sure of until it drops in it's entirety later on in the year). Flooding it with emotion in both the song and the performance-based music video, Shawn Mendes releases frustration in Ruin.
Shawn Mendes, the Canadian superstar we just keep hearing about again and again, and for all the right reasons. He previously climbed the UK chart with "Stitches" finally grabbing number one, weeks after it was released. Now he just launches right into the chart and yet still climbs later on, just like he has done with "Treat You Better". This album is set to be one I won't be able to stop listening to, and as each new track is dropped I fall in love with his vocals more and more. This song was written by Shawn Mendes, Ido Zmishlany, Scott Harris and Geoffrey Warburton.

There is very little going on in the video, since it is a pure performance piece in this empty arena, although I bet it would be packed if Shawn Mendes' fans could've got tickets to see the filming of this music video.
Filmed purely in black and white, which fails to add any texture to the music video apart from heightening the emotion of the song, it feels like an insight in to Shawn Mendes' life.
This is the sort of arena he would play at, it's like it's being filmed before a big show and something has got under Shawn Mendes' skin, something that makes him want to release his frustrations by singing this song. Something that will calm him down before the show, and it's obvious that that is what this song does for him.
Although basic, this music video is inclusive and feels more like a gift to his fans, something to keep them going. This song is clearly personal to him, and he portrays that perfectly in his performance of the song. Yet there is so much they could have done with this video, only there's no point since it is just a promotional instant grat single, just like Fifth Harmony's "Write On Me" was. So mainly we can be thankful that this actually has a music video, because his other promotional singles might not get one.
This is my new banger and I am so glad that it has a music video for me to review too. It is a timeless anthem that will definitely be something I'd constantly listen to even if I am actually sorry for something I've done. This marks the return of JoJo, especially with her new album on the way, which will be called Mad Love, and will include this song as it is the first single from the said album. JoJo performs with her natural flair, she isn't apologising for no reason and especially when she doesn't mean it.
JoJo, real name Joanna Levesque, has been finally making her comeback in the music industry, after a legal battle with her now previous record label. Finally out of her contract, she signed a new one and has been releasing new music since last year, including the incredible tringle of singles "When Love Hurts", "Say Love" and "Save My Soul". She's back and it's looks like it's going to be a solid return! Featured star is Wiz Khalifa, real name Cameron Thomaz, has dipped in and out of hits, most notable for number one single "See You Again", he will always be a prominent rapper. This song was written by Joanna Levesque, Taylor Parks and Cameron Thomaz.
Directed by Francesco Carrozzini, this music video is a pure performance visual with snapshots of extras who have nothing to apologise for, although society might think otherwise.
It easily relates to the song, removing shade and highlighting pride. Everyone is different in their own ways and they have nothing to apologise for, being different is not wrong whatsoever.
JoJo really takes a stance on this overall, working with the video and even getting into a pool naked. To do so is completely brave, and yet she has nothing to apologise for. She does what she wants now, especially after being released from her previous contract. She has freedom, and her fans are following her more than ever, helping to promote her any way we can.
As for Wiz Khalifa, he's rap shines in the song, and the visual does the exact same thing. Smoky and hazy, he puts on a performance that stuns, he means every word of that rap just like JoJo means every word of the song. This is why he will always have a career.
Overall, it's a great performance piece from JoJo, which is totally nothing new from her. As for the side clips, it's freeing to see so many people not caring and not apologising for who they are and what they do. Everyone should have the freedom to be themselves, to be able to show themselves to the world without hatred, without criticism and without apologies.
Not an easy decision to pick between this and "Never Had A Dream Come True", but this was another favourite of mine and rolls nicely on from "Don't Stop Movin'" for my Thursday Revisit. This wasn't my initial plan but I didn't realise how much Reach meant to me, looking back on this song, I thought it was complete cheese with extra on top, but it really isn't, it's still a banger even if it isn't in my head. S Club 7 takes the party bus on the road, living it up large and dancing away on top of it, the group members have a blast as they Reach for the stars.
S Club 7 is a fond memory of nearly every 20-30 year old's childhood, they hit the charts hard in the UK, and their popularity never stopped, creating hit TV shows and TV movies as well as spawning a junior band. Yet all good things come to an end, and they ended up going their separate ways. The group consisted of Jo O'Meara, Bradley McIntosh, Hannah Spearritt, Tina Barrett, Jon Lee, Paul Cattermole and Rachel Stevens. This song didn't quite reach number one and had to settle for peaking at number two, behind Sonique's "It Feels So Good". It was written by Cathy Dennis and Andrew Todd.
The music video is a simple performance piece, the song served as the theme tune for L.A. 7, the next instalment series of the group's TV shows.
The video doesn't link back to the TV series, this time around like "Bring It All Back" did. Instead settling purely on the performance side of things.
There's a few possible narratives, especially with all the extras used in the video, where they have a sweet with the letter 's' on (which definitely reminds me of Skittles), which turns them into loving the group too.
The extras follow the party bus, which kind of copies the Vengaboys bus in "We Like To Party! (The Vengabus)", yet explodes it much more. It looks quite dangerous.
As for performance wise, they are on form as always, although no grouped dancing, all members are pretty apart meaning it's difficult to see any mishaps and so it looks more of a collective in-sync production.
Overall, there really isn't anything to this music video, it's pretty bland and totally simple with no narrative or an outstanding performance visual. It's remembered because of the party bus, yet it's easily forgettable compared to their other music videos.
This was supposed to be the start of the return of Booty Luv, it was planned as the first single from their second studio album, yet the low charting position (number 16 is far from low if you asked me) suggested the end of the second album, which got cancelled and therefore scrapped. This was a new direction for Booty Luv and it's such a shame we didn't see how this could have developed. Booty Luv are sexed up and loving life as they finally have a high budgeted music video for "Say It" which became their last charting single.
Booty Luv, consisting of Cherise Roberts and Nadia Shepherd, had a string of hits after their group, Big Brovaz, split up. Unfortunately, it wasn't meant to be and although they tried to make a great comeback in 2013 with "Black Widow", it never pushed them back into the limelight enough to carry on their career. This song was written by Carl Björsell, Didrik Thott and Sebastian Thott.
Directed by Emile Nava, and set in a luxury hotel that literally has everything, the girls settle into a character role that seems similar to the young doppelgangers found in their previous music video "Don't Mess With My Man".
Crazy and over the top the video heightens on men's desire of Booty Luv and how they never build up the courage to say something. Not that they are giving these guys a chance to do so.
The song tells guy to go and say that they like them, to just come out and say it. But life is never that easy, especially in a club, or just in a corridor or at an event as this video suggests. However confidence gets you everywhere, even in my books. Pluck up the courage and just say it.
Fun and sexy the girls put so much energy into this video, however they look a little possessed, over acting everything which totally makes this video slightly off-putting. There's a lot to like and a lot to not like about this video, I am one of Booty Luv's biggest fans, but their videos rarely engage. This should've worked well, but it just fails completely, over done and overly emphasised.
Oh how this video brings back memories, I swear the music channels had it on repeat, so much so that I never stopped singing, dancing and watching "Don't Stop Movin'". If I had to pick a favourite song back when this was released, this was it, this was my jam! How embarrassing to think of that now, but I still know every lyric, every memory and every bit of this music video. S Club 7 dances in a club to "Don't Stop Movin'", with motion-blurring snapshots and a full choreography.
Still embarrassing to watch now, and what is with that choreography? S Club 7 consisted of seven singers who were: Bradley McIntosh, Jo O'Meara, Hannah Spearritt, Rachel Stevens, Paul Cattermole, Tina Barratt and Jon Lee. They had a tonne of success in the UK, but it soon fell as Paul Cattermole left the group. This song won them a few awards and hit number one in the UK. It was written by Bradley McIntosh, Hannah Spearritt, Jo O'Meara, Jon Lee, Paul Cattermole, Rachel Stevens, Sheppard Solomon, Simon Ellis and Tina Barrett. The verse of the song samples Michael Jackson's "Billie Jean".
Directed by Andy Morahan, the video is set in a club, with the group taking over the dance floor as they show off their moves.
At the time this may have been current, but it is totally embarrassing to watch and definitely makes sense as to why I was such a confident child with my dancing. I had this group in my life, with their choreography on my screen, no wonder I was like that.
Taking Bradley McIntosh and Jo O'Meara into the main vocals, this really pushed the other members back. Nowadays a song like this would be separated between each of the group members, but since there is seven of them, this would be possible but pretty difficult. The music video definitely showcases Bradley McIntosh and Jo O'Meara more than the other members, which must have been quite disconcerting for the other S Club 7 singers.
There is very little else going on, the choreography is sort of in-sync, but not to an exact point, and when looked into detail it seems kind of flimsy. This is not as tight as we've seen previous dance choreography from these guys. Overall this could have been better, but it just isn't and looking back on it nowadays, it looks worse than what I thought it was.
Once again Drake is at the top of the charts with "One Dance" which still has no official music video, come on Drake what are you playing at? So the UK top 10's music videos are available for me to review this week. I picked this song because I've been ignoring it for a while because of the stunning hit the song is. Clean Bandit makes a solid return with the most recent X Factor winner Louisa Johnson in this incredibly visual music video.
Clean Bandit are an instrumental pop band consisting of Jack Patterson, Luke Patterson, Grace Chatto and Neil Amin-Smith, They have had various hits especially with Jess Glynne on tracks "Rather Be" and "Real Love". They are always hitting the charts hard because no other band is doing what they are doing, it's innovative and all-so clever. They have made a massive mark on the music industry and they are not going anywhere. The featured singer if Louisa Johnson, who won the 12th series of The X Factor, which was the most recent series. She was one of the stars from the get-go, and her vocal talents are unbelievable, and this track doesn't show them off fully, yet adds to her versatility. Many have said it sounds like a Eurovision song, both as a winning song and as a catchy unnoticed song. I vote Clean Bandit as the next UK Eurovision representative! The song was written by Sam Romans and Jack Patterson.
Directed by Jack Patterson, yes that's right Clean Bandit's own Jack Patterson, this video is completely stunning with amazing visual effects and scenes that definitely captures the intensity of the song. It also features Hedwig, the snowy owl from Harry Potter, apparently.
This video has it all, flamethrowers, Hedwig, rain, water, smoke, dancing, singing, instruments and fire. What more can you want? Literally Jack Patterson threw it all in, and it really worked.
A stunning music video to match Louisa Johnson's stunning vocals. The choreography is in time with the music, and performed professionally. The band and the vocalist perform emotionally, who wouldn't want to see these people live? Even without all the effects going on around them, their energy is the electricity that fuels this entire thing.
There's a lot going on but little more I can comment on. Overall it's in-depth intensity with a visual concept that works fluidly with the song. They have literally captured the music and turned it into a conceptual art piece.
Big Brovaz will be performing at a club near me (they already have done, I've just changed the date on this blog post), and they are bound to sing this song! OK is probably one of their least known and least catchy songs from their first album, but I totally understand why it was released as it shows them off more as a group. The music video coincides perfectly with it. We all want a Big Brovaz musical, and this is what this video does, puts on a Big Brovaz musical, and boy do we love it.
Big Brovaz were a six-piece group consisting of Cherise Roberts, Nadia Shepherd, Dion Howell, Randy Jackson, John Paul Horsley (J-Rock) and Tayo Aisida (Flawless). They later carried on as a four-piece and attempted to represent the UK at Eurovision. They split up in 2007, and Nadia Shepherd and Cherise Roberts became Booty Luv, who had a string of hits. Nowadays they reform for mini concerts and gigs, but they have no new material, as far as I know. I hope they have something coming soon, because the music industry need this group in the world. For now we'll have to deal with their old music, which can still be considered current. This song was written byMichael Mugisha, John Paul Horsley, Michael Brown, Cherise Roberts, Nadia Shepherd, Abdul Bello, Thelma Howell, Temi Tayo Aisda. This music video is mainly a performance piece as Big Brovaz perform on a stage. Turning the entire song into a quick musical making us all wish we could buy tickets to see this said theatre production. All six group members perform with their usual energetic vibes, taking us back to "Nu Flow", except this is on stage, with a great reaction from the crowd. Interesting and engaging, this group never fails, with perfect dancing choreography, in sync with the professionals, they pull this off easily. Overall, a great music video, that we hope suggests a future musical down the line, this is what we want. Well, we want the group to fully reform and release new music, but a theatre production is something we could all settle at... Yet that also seems just as unlikely, but we can keep hoping and dreaming!
Imani Williams dropped her debut track a few weeks ago, which she later followed up with this awesome music video, that I can't stop playing. Having already published articles for Outlet Magazine, as well as CelebMix, as well as an article about the video, I feel like I haven't got much else to say about this video, let alone this song, however I am still loving it, this song will never get old. Especially with Imani Williams' outstanding vocals. Imani Williams don't need no money when she's got us as her fans, with full dance choreography and perfect performance vibes, this girl is going to go far!
Imani Williams is just 16, can you believe how young she is? She first came on to the music scene, with the help of Sigala on the awesome track "Say You Do", now she's released her own single, this one features Sigala and Blonde. Her vocals are on point on this track and the song is fire! We'll definitely be hearing more from Imani Williams, for sure! Sigala, real name Bruce Fielder, has had many hits, and pretty much launched Imani Williams' career. Having already had many chart hits, Sigala's future looks bright. And so does the other feature, Blonde, a producing duo consisting of Jacob Manson and Adam Englefield. They have had global hit after global hit. They've worked with the stars and the rising stars, and they will definitely continue hitting the charts hard. This song was written by Bruce Fielder, Patrizia Helander, Jacob Manson and Hampus Lindvall. It is currently stuck in my head once again.

With a full choreography, that is performed to perfection along with amazing technique, Imani Williams has the spotlight on her, and boy does she work it!
The choreography relates effortlessly with the song, whilst Imani Williams sends out performance vibes sure to make you want to see her live.
The visual scenes where it's just her, is stylish and sexy. I love the denim jacket she is wearing, and she totally suits it much better than I ever would.
The last scene is a shock, how the hell they managed to control her hair into a plait is unbelievable and proves that Imani Williams has an amazing style team behind her.
Overall what else can I say about this video, I've literally exhausted every comment I can make amongst all the published articles on Outlet and CelebMix. But Imani Williams is worth it, she deserves promotion and she deserves recognition, because a vocal like that going unheard in the world will mean the end of good vocalists in the music industry. Imani Williams is FIRE in every way, and I cannot wait for more new music, for now I'll just keep this and "Say You Do" on repeat.
