Another collective that was released this year, it didn't serve as a New Release since it was released a few weeks earlier, but it still one of the contenders for the charts in the run-up to Christmas. And since it's a Christmas song, it's a part of my Christmas Special 2016. This one consists of 25 online influencers from all over the world; this is why you might recognise some of them; if not, all of them. With a cheerful festive song, this deserves a good chance at hitting the charts hard, but it needs a hell of a lot more people buying the single, so go and buy it now! The Hello Christmas collection of online influencers have fun recording "Christmas Without You" and singing together in this music video, whilst we watch some behind-the-scene footage and a comedic narrative.
Hello Christmas are a collection of 25 online influencers who are: Alexa Mae, Brittany Balyn, BriaAndChrissy (Bria Kam and Chrissy Chambers), Cassie Diamond, Carrington Durham, Emma Heesters, Hannah Trigwell, Jake Mitchell, Jayden Rodrigues, Joe Tasker, Julia Van Bergen, Macy Kate, Marina Joyce, Melanie Murphy, Monica Church, Polina Beregova, Riyadh K, Saffron Barker, Sapphire, Shelby Church, Taylor Jones, Toby Randall, VladTeeVee, and Yammy. These online stars have become a sensation by focusing on what they want to do. They're an inspiration to everyone, but you would think they'd easily be able to promote this track and get it to number one but it's just not that simple, clearly. The project comes from Hello Management and came to my attention thanks to Taylor Jones (since I am a fan of his music, it's so good!). So get behind the track and buy it, I sure have and it deserves to climb the charts. The song was written and produced by Jackie Boyz (Carlos Battey and Steven Battey) and The Producers House. The song is in support of Make-A-Wish UK.
The music video was directed by Nick Upshall and is completely festive and Christmassy, but it mostly portrays a performance piece of recording the song.
There is a comedic narration thanks to the filming of Joe Tasker, who arrives late and runs after the bus; then arrives at the studio late; and then, when he finally arrives inside the studio booth, the song is completely done with and there's nothing left for him to sing.
Inside the studio, it's all fun and excitement. All the singers are clearly having the best time of their lives. Some have personally identified with the song adding brilliant emotion; others not so much. Regardless, as a collective, they sing brilliantly. They really have come together on this one.
I love the Christmas decorations and the use of behind-the-scenes visuals to break up the studio booth recordings of the song. It's interesting and comedic. It's full of festive cheer and that's what we needed.
Overall, it's a great Christmas song with brilliant vocals, and the rap just knocks it out of the park! The music video could be more relatable to the song and could've had a bigger narrative, although time and budget may have been reasons as to why we got this type of music video. Nonetheless, it's festive and fun and they clearly all enjoyed themselves, which is what the Christmas spirit is all about. So get behind it and buy it on iTunes now, give it the shot it needs to be number one!
Surely this was obvious. Of course, I was going to review Bronnie's "Modern Day Christmas" music video for my Christmas Special 2016. She was a part of my Halloween Special 2016, and now she's a part of my Christmas Special 2016. She's one of my favourite new artists on the scene. This was her first single and it's totally original and authentic; definitely, a Christmas song more people need to hear. Watch Bronnie bring some festive Christmas spirit to us all with this "Modern Day Christmas" music video, where she dresses up as Santa and wishes for an alien.
Bronnie, full name Bronnie Hughes, is an aspiring singer/songwriter, who has gone on to support Josh Taylor and Over Atlantic. She is currently finishing off the Alstar Xmas Party Tour 2016. This is her debut single which she released last year for Christmas. She has followed this up with two more singles that she released this year "High School Sucks" and "Scared Much". This pop/rock Christmas song is passionate and intricate. It was written by Bronnie Hughes.
The music video is mainly a performance piece, with Bronnie adding comedic snapshots of her dressed up as Santa or her admiring the decorations on the tree.

Time to start my Christmas Special 2016. It's quite the battle for the top spot this year, with lots of people wanting the number one to be a Christmas song, but it seems unlikely that that will happen; what with all the UK Christmas Number Ones rarely being Christmassy at all. Hit Christmas songs, usually, settle for the top 10 and year after year climb back onto the chart. This year will be just like any other year... Only with more Christmas songs competing for the top spot. Watch the Proclaimers' Christmas Collective bring the spirit of Christmas with their song "Dance Tonight (It's Christmas)". They've got strong vocals and a sweet narrative.
The Christmas Collective are a collection of six vocalists, consisting of Faye Snelling, Hannah Roberts, Gina Natasha Cummins, Rianne Collins, Ryan Hase, and Sam Cousins. They came together for this Christmas song which is completely cheerful with so many identifiable Christmas traditions and thoughts, filled with beautiful vocals that really brings the stunning quality of this song. Some come from a musical background, hence why you might recognise them. Some are new singers on the scene. Each adds a special flavour to this song, so much so that each artist could push for a solo career and easily become successful. This is what makes this new release one of the best for Christmas number one, this year because their vocals are on point. This song was written by Mark Harvey and Sam Cousins. Public suggestions helped create the lyrics. Put together by Proclaimers Church. All proceeds from the single will be donated to local charities Break and Love Norwich.
The music video has a whole lot of festive Christmas spirit behind it. Both narrative and performance based, is there any better way to represent a Christmas song than give it a cheerful loving music video?
The performance side of things are very festive. It's good to see each of the singers get a spotlight; granted that some are seen more than others, but they equally add something fresh to the track. Each artist is different in their own right, and they've crafted the song wondrously around their voices with brilliant harmonies. The visual brings emotion into the video; this song means a lot to these singers and it really shows.
The narrative is just as festive. Christmas brings people together, and that is shown throughout. The actors bring a realness to the video, some normalcy amongst traditions such as exchanging presents. It's loving and understanding. However, Sam Cousins clearly just danced and grooved out by himself to fill the video up; this comes off slightly weird, but it's all in good spirit.
Overall, as Christmas music videos go, this is one of the best from a collection of artists. Usually, these sort of music videos come off completely flat; but this one is honest and real, with great emotion behind. If you haven't bought the track yet, you really ought to. These guys need the support, and it deserves to top the charts, even if it doesn't seem likely.
It's a Thursday, which means it's Thursday Revisit once again. I chose Machine Gun Kelly since he is super hot in "Bad Things" with Camila Cabello, and I haven't actually heard any of his other songs, so this was a perfect opportunity. This one was released in 2011 and is the only other Machine Gun Kelly song to chart on the US Billboard Hot 100 Chart, next to "Bad Things". Watch Waka Flocka Flame knock out the father of Machine Gun Kelly's girlfriend, as they both announce that they each are a "Wild Boy".
Machine Gun Kelly, known as MGK during this time, is a US rapper and actor. His real name is Richard Colson Baker. He first came to my attention playing Ty in the film Nerve. Then he released "Bad Things" and that was it. I know I'll be seeing more of him. As for the featured artist, Waka Flocka Flame, real name Juaquin Malphurs, he has been popping up here and there. He's a rapper that people have heard of but has yet to have an internationally successful single that people identify his name with. He is also building up his rapping career, so I also expect we'll hear more from him soon. This single charted at number 98 on the US Billboard Hot 100 Chart. It was written by Richard Colson Baker, Juaquin Malphurs, and Joshua Luellen.
Directed by Spliff TV and Maybach Music Films, the music video is mainly a performance-based video with narrative scenes throughout. It also features cameo appearances by Johnny Dang, Katt Williams, and Layzie Bone.
The video starts off with a girl introducing her boyfriend to her parents at a dinner table. The boyfriend, in question, is MGK, which he tells the parents stands for Machine Gun Kelly. It's a great way to introduce himself to the viewers of the music video, with a comical segment as he has also brought along his friend, Waka Flocka Flame, to the intimate meeting.
Waka Flocka Flame smashes a bottle on the father's head, claiming he is a "Wild Boy". This is where the performance side jumps in, with both artists giving it their all whilst shirtless.
The music video is intricate and interesting. Both rappers give it; showing passion for the song, whilst adding comedic segments. It's relatable and engaging, yet the narrative is weird and not easily understandable. Why? Just why? It doesn't make sense, completely wild but with no reasoning.
There are two music videos for this song, this is the original one, whilst the other was released months after his performance on the Eurovision stage. This was another favourite of mine at the Eurovision Song Contest 2015, and was definitely worthy of winning; instead, Loïc Nottet came fourth with 217 points for Belgium. In this video for "Rhythm Inside", Loïc Nottet gets all wet and sexy whilst contrasting similar types of people.
Loïc Nottet first made a name for himself in Belgium by coming second in The Voice of Belgique third series. He was chosen through internal selection to represent the country at the Eurovision Song Contest 2015. Since coming fourth, he has gone on to release a second single titled "Million Eyes", as well as announcing some concerts. With a voice like his, Loïc Nottet deserves international fame, and he must never give up. I love this song and it's follow-up single, and I cannot wait for an actual album from him. This song was written by Loïc Nottet and Beverly Jo Scott.
Directed by Josh Brandão & Nicolai Kornum, this music video is a pure performance piece, with actors showing differences between similar people, all the while Loïc Nottet giving a very sexy performance as he gets wet and looks sultrily into the camera.
There isn't an awful lot going on in this music video. People are displayed wondrously, showing complete contrasts in people who look similar. It just goes to show that what you see isn't always what you get. It's quite comedic at times.
As usual, Loïc Nottet's performance piece is intense and exciting; although, it was so much better on stage at Eurovision 2015. The water makes him totally sexy, and even the red paint does things you wouldn't expect. I hope more sexy music videos are on their way.
This music video totally differs to the other one that was later released. The other music video is purely narrative and totally interesting if a little confusing. This one, however, is quite stripped back - although not as much as the single cover suggests - and could've done with more of a narrative.
Well, YouTube sure knows how to draw me in, by showing this amongst my recommended videos. This thumbnail is totally what drew me into watching this music video today, and I am now a fan of the song, it is right up my street - in more ways than one - and YouTube Recommendations has got it right once again! Lyon Hart's music video for "Falling For You" is a sensual sexy love/hate relationship between dancers Lonnie Poupard, Jr. and Kile Hotchkiss, who are spiralling out of control.
Lyon Hart, real name Mark Sanderlin, is a singer/songwriter who debuted his EP, "With Or Without Me", last year. He has written for some of the best and some of the well-known, as well as featured on tracks you probably know but haven't connected his name to. He is reaching out, taking opportunities as they come; which is totally admirable. Music is difficult to get into, yet this is just the start for 'Lyon (like neon) Hart (like Melissa Joan)' as it states on his Facebook Page. Now he has a big important music video, that could've been susceptible to a lot of abuse; instead, it has gained a lot of admiration from people all over the world. This is the beginning of Lyon Hart, and now he needs to ride this success. This song was written by Robert Grimaldi, Douglas Larsen, Benjamin Lindel, and Mark Sanderlin.
Directed by Matt VanDaniker, the music video shows the relationship between two gay men intercut between a beautiful contemporary dance that was choreographed by the dancers and actors themselves: Lonnie Poupard, Jr. and Kile Hotchkiss.
The editing team behind this has brilliantly transitioned a choreographed danced scene into a loving narrative. At times, it feels too quick and less explanatory. The thing about contemporary dance is that it is supposed to show emotional feeling and tell a story. This does exactly that, only they're giving us the emotional feeling and the storyline within the narrative; which leaves the audience quite transparent as they don't have anything to take in.
Regardless of this, the transitions are crafted brilliantly. The narrative is inviting, sexy, sultry, and totally sensual. It makes me miss having someone there to be sensual with; yet, taking me back to the times that I have been; I know my future husband is out there for me, time will be worth it. For the time being, I can watch Lonnie Poupard, Jr. and Kile Hotchkiss kiss, touch, and love each other.
Showing the ups and down of a relationship. This music video definitely supports the LGBT+ community, and it's amazing to see this up on YouTube and with positive comments. There was no performance piece from Lyon Hart himself, but this music video is amazing, regardless. I hope to see Lonnie Poupard, Jr. and Kile Hotchkiss choreograph more male-male dance sequences. This is beyond beautiful. Please choreograph my wedding dance with my future husband, whoever he may be.
He's the Critics' Choice Brit Award Winner 2017, and since Clean Bandit is still on top with the incredible "Rockabye" song that is always stuck in my head because of Anne-Marie's amazing vocals and Sean Paul's voice; it opens my Chart Mondays up, and this is really the only music video I can do from the UK Singles Chart. Standing up for himself and everyone else, this song has really captured all our hearts; its music video shows Rag'n'Bone Man as well as various other people as "Human", we're all the same.
Rag'n'Bone Man, real name Rory Graham, has been around for a couple of years, dropping EPs and a couple of singles; but when this hit came around, it totally blasted him into a star. All it takes is one song. Some talent is never found because they never get the right song. This song comes from his debut album, which will be released in February, and is also titled "Human". He has recently won the Brits Critics' Choice Award, against some stiff competition including Dua Lipa and Anne-Marie. I am - kind of - interested in his following releases. Will he be a one-hit wonder? With a voice like his, he shouldn't be. This song was written by Jamie Hartman and Rory Graham.

They have shown Rag'n'Bone Man simply as "Human", showing no difference between him and any of the other people in this music video.
With skilled editing work, everyone morphs into one. It shows a strong message, a message of unity and hurtfulness. Everyone shown could have something wrong with them, enough where they have got bullied, been abused physically and mentally. But they're just human, just like we're just human.
This music video may not be exciting or engaging, but it's showing that we're all human beings. Relating to the song perfectly, it comes across with a fighting spirit. And yet, where there's room to grow this into a wonderful narrative, it stays flat and leaves us guessing.
This is one of my favourite duet songs of 2016, talk about a collaboration and a half. This is beyond mesmerising; but, once again, Camila Cabello doesn't make a hit. This song and her other duet with Shawn Mendes, "I Know What You Did Last Summer", hasn't really done well on the UK chart. Regardless of that fact, it doesn't take away from how amazing this song is! It's totally underrated. Watch Machine Gun Kelly and Camila Cabello do "Bad Things" together and slightly to each other, in this music video, with a shocking heartfelt ending that leaves us all guessing.

The whole reason I bought the single was because of Camila Cabello, as I'm a massive fan of Fifth Harmony. She's the first of the five girls to go on and release music away from the group. As previously mentioned, she teamed up with Shawn Mendes on the amazing track "I Know What You Did Last Summer", and then she's done this one. But, she hasn't made it solo just yet, so I don't think Fifth Harmony are going to part ways anytime soon, even if Lauren Jauregui has done the same and released her own featured single. This song was written by Colson Baker, Camila Cabello, Madison Love, Tony Scalzo, Joe Khajadourian, and Alex Schwartz. It features an interpolation of Fastball's "Out Of My Head".
Directed by Hannah Lux Davis, no wonder it's so amazing, this music video is highly memorable and totally infectious.
The collaborative artists are childhood lovers, who have grown up together doing bad things. There are so many amazing scenes that it is impossible to comment on them all. But I totally love the car drifting scene, that really made me think they were going to crash and die there.
They find an abandoned warehouse where they throw a party, and Camila Cabello adorns a princess tiara. Machine Gun Kelly gets wrapped in tape, I'm sure a few of us wouldn't mind doing that to him.
He gets in a couple of fights, and they also steal a car, which leads to the police running after them. That then brings us right back to the start of the music video where they can be seen at the top of a building, but the ending leaves it on a total cliff-hanger, do they jump?
Both artists look incredibly sexy in this music video, just by being themselves and the perfect camera angles and shots.
What else can I say? Other than going into how gorgeously sexy Machine Gun Kelly looks, but then again, the same could be said of Camila Cabello. The song is pure fire, but the music video has stepped up the song so much more. This will forever remain an underrated track, and it so should've gained momentum. It'll be a lost treasure that I will be playing for years. The music video follows suit and is worthy of awards across the board. Side note: I love the comments saying that this was what Shawn Mendes was on about, this is what Camila Cabello got up to last summer; in reference to her previous collaboration "I Know What You Did Last Summer".
Heard this on the radio after Christmas shopping, so thought it would be the perfect excuse to review the video. This is such a sweet music video, yet could've easily been chaotic... Wait! It pretty is chaotic in a relatable way. I'm not so keen on the song, it's too nicey-nice for the lyrical context, and yet the music video does the exact same thing. Watch children take over Olly Murs' music video set in this visual of "Grow Up". Adorable but not engaging.
Olly Murs made his name by coming second in the sixth series of The X Factor. He has done the best from the contestants of that year, although that could be due to being signed to the Syco label and managing to hit out bangers in his early career. Now, he's totally been underperforming, releasing growing songs, much like this one. After hearing it over and over, it easily embeds into my head, which is his signature style of songs, and yet they're never easy hits, and never memorable enough. This is just another to add to the Olly Murs collection. This song was written by Olly Murs, Steve Robson, Camille Purcell, and Wayne Hector.
Directed by Jim Canty, children take over completely and make the video instead. See them reorganising the set, doing his make-up and being fashionistas.
Annoyingly they talk over the song, which doesn't make it that great to view. Not only that but it seems very messy.
This sort of video has been done plenty of times. We've seen people behind cameras and in director chairs often, enough that I can't even list them all because there's been too many. Yet, this is just another one; there's nothing unique or special about this one, apart from it being children, but they're not mischievous enough.
Olly Murs is known for being a cheeky chappy, and therefore, we expect the kids to be just as cheeky. Yet, this just falls flat.
The music video feels totally low budget. It should've been so much bigger, but it's not. The kids should be troublemakers but they're not. There's no doubt that Olly Murs will be a great father one day, but that is not what this song is about.
Time for a bit of house music on my blog today, although the only reason is because I struggled to find a music video for any songs that were released this week. It seems this is the only one I could find, and it's pretty unimaginative. Watch a guy with painted eyelids dance away to this house song titled "Closer To You" by WHOISJODY.
WHOISJODY, real name Jody Koenders, has been known by various different names in the past including Jody Meyer and Jody San. He is from the Netherlands and has released various different songs, but he has described this project as Super House. This song has already been released on Beatport and will follow onto iTunes in 2017. I can't deny that the song is full of beats that I'd love to rave to. A perfect tune for the clubs.
The music video is a performance visual of a guy dancing. That is basically it. There's nothing else to it.
It's not engaging whatsoever, although it is kind of shocking when he removes his sunglasses. You have to give yourself some time to adjust to the weirdness of it all and to understand what is happening.
There is a guy who is dancing with his eyes closed. Only, painted on his eyelids are eyes. It reminds me of a scene out of Tom & Jerry, where they don't want to be seen to be asleep.
At the end, he opens his eyes and confuses us even more. I don't understand what is going on. Yet, I can't deny how catchy this song is.
It's Thursday Revisit time, and I thought I had cocked it all up. I went through every artist I have reviewed this week, and none of them had released anything more than five years ago, apart from Inna, but I've reviewed all of hers; until I realised Gucci Mane was a featured artist on Rae Sremmurd's track "Black Beatles"; and so, I had to do one of Gucci Mane's old songs. Since this is the one that has charted on the UK chart, why not? Gucci Mane teams up with Usher who is hosting a party, but the rapper isn't up to it after parting ways with his girl. Watch some jealousy sparks in this "Spotlight" music video.
Gucci Mane, real name Radric Davis, has been going for years, but it isn't until he teamed up with Rae Sremmurd for track "Black Beatles" that he gained global chart success; even if the song is only known as the Mannequin Challenge song. He has previously charted a number of times, in his early career in the US; however, this is the only song that charted in the UK by him. The reason it charted may have something to do with Usher. He is the featured artist on this track, real name Usher Raymond IV. If you don't know who he is, he has been killing it for years. Global success all over; hence why this track charted in the UK because he was at the height of his fame then, and still is. This song was written by Radric Davis, Usher Raymond, and Jamal Jones.
Directed by Benny Boom, the music video also has cameos from Nicki Minaj (before she became famous), and Eddie Murphy's daughter: Bria Murphy.
The opening creates a narrative which sets up the performance piece, ending full circle. We watch as Usher urges Gucci Mane to come to his party, but the rapper isn't feeling up to partying as he is upset. We learn that he and his girlfriend has split up.
Usher wins him over, naturally. This is where the performance piece kicks in, and we see Usher doing his thing. Gucci Mane and Usher are a great duo, one we wish will happen again. They have a close energy, that has a lot of pumped up vibes.
We see some old dance moves, that is better left off in the 00's; although, I guess dabbing has been adapted from one certain move clearly shown in this music video.
Nicki Minaj can clearly be seen talking to Gucci Mane, which flits a whole lot of jealous looks from Bria Murphy, who we later work out is Gucci Mane's girlfriend, that he had just split up with. The ending sees him rushing out to her and they make it up.
Overall, the music video has a brilliant narrative and an energetic performance. What more can we ask for? It's relatable, interesting and story-focused. It works well but doesn't really grip the audience all that much. It's great to watch, and totally gets kudos for not putting a bunch of provocative girls in the performance piece. Nice one!
One of my top favourites from this year. It still shocks me to this day that it didn't get nearer to the top! I don't really know what happened during Eurovision 2015, but it wasn't as good as the previous years, and yet there were definitely some treasures that we still haven't got over; this is one of them. Aminata represented Latvia and scored 186, placing them sixth. This should've done much better. Aminata gets soaking wet during her performance and narrative music video for "Love Injected", sexily involved with her love interest, who also gets fired up.
Aminata, full name Aminata Savadogo, was definitely one of my favourites from this year, her unique vocals will make her an international star, if she continues to stay focused and fights to become a global singer. She previously entered Dziesma 2014, the Latvian national selection for Eurovision 2014; unfortunately, she came fifth with "I Can Breathe". It clearly wasn't meant to be, especially when she went on to win Supernova 2015 and became Latvian's representative to Eurovision 2015. Then in 2016 she wrote Justs' winning entry "Heartbeat", where he came eighth in Eurovision 2016. Now, she's competing in Golos (the Russian version of The Voice), where she's a part of, fellow Eurovision 2015 contestant, Polina Gagarina's team. This song was written by Aminata Savadogo and Kaspars Ansons.
Directed by Andžejs Gavrišs, the music video is gripping from start to finish. Aminata controls the viewers attention all the way through. She has so much potential that, in this video alone, she proves her star quality.
The performance side of this music video is completely powerful. Wow! She can easily grip an audience in a second. With her beautiful vocals and her stunning looks, Aminata is definitely someone who will go far.
The narrative part sees Aminata and a very sexy love interest, who is played by actor Martiņš Kapzems, completely soak themselves with the contents of a fuel can. We can presume they plan to burn themselves alive by pouring fuel all over them in a gorgeously sultry way.
Martiņš Kapzems can be seen lighting a match, which he brings to a cigarette, before they both free fall over the edge. The cigarette has previously been dropped after some erotic smoke scenes, lighting the floor.
However, they aren't committing suicide, they are honing a power. Martiņš Kapzems is pretty much similar to The Human Torch from the Fantastic Four, being able to control fire now that he has fuel all over him. Can he become any more hot? In more than one sense of that word.
Much like the song, this music video is strong and sexy. It's hot all over, and is so captivating that I can't stop watching it. The song is one that is worthy of being a winning song, and yet totally under performed. Aminata is going to be a big star, no doubt; I literally can't wait for what the future will bring for her.
If there's one newcomer to the table who has hit it off well globally, it's DNCE! They unleashed internationally with the globally successful song "Cake By The Ocean" which was followed up with the equally addictive "Toothbrush", yet this is the one song that launched their album, that said album is one of the best albums I have heard all year. DNCE get completely sexy in a strip-like type of a music video for "Body Moves", but what do we really expect?
DNCE are a four-piece band consisting of Joe Jonas, Cole Whittle, JinJoo Lee, and Jack Lawless. They kept this project a secret until they were ready to launch their debut single, and it definitely worked out well for them; especially with Joe Jonas being such a well-known figure in the music industry. The group recently released a self-titled debut album which is for sure one of the best albums I have listened to in a while, don't forget to check out my review for Outlet Magazine. This song hasn't done as well as their previous singles and isn't quite the chart success it clearly deserves to be, what with the extremely catchy hook. The song was written by Joe Jonas, Rami Yacoub, Albin Nedler, and Kristoffer Fogelmark.
The video was directed by Hannah Lux Davis, a name we keep on having to type out since she has certainly made herself known amongst the music video industry.

Clean Bandit is still at the top with "Rockabye" that features Sean Paul & Anne-Marie; they are totally fending off this climber, which has become an overnight sensation all thanks to the Mannequin Challenge, where this song is usually used as the backing track. Rae Sremmurd collaborates with Gucci Mane in this pure performance music video with literal lyric visualisations throughout.
Rae Sremmurd is an American duo consisting of Swae Lee and Slim Jxmmi. They have really done a number with this song, with thanks to the Mannequin Challenge, this song has skyrocketed up the charts around the world, probably thanks to people attempting the Mannequin Challenge, no doubt. They have previously released a number of singles and two albums, all of which haven't impacted the charts as much as this song alone has. They have been more of a hit in the US over the past couple of years, but with international fame, the question on everyone's minds is if they can follow through with another hit. Featured on this track is Gucci Mane, real name Radric Davis; he is a massive US rapper, who has released a number of albums, EPs, and singles. He has worked with some of the biggest stars, and had quite a few hits back in 2009. Once again, this is possibly his biggest hit to date too. This song was written by Khalif Brown, Aaquil Brown, Radric Davis, and Michael Williams. The latter produced the song and is better known as Mike Will Made It.

It is mainly a performance-based music video with Rae Sremmurd mainly seen performing in various places and stages. They clearly have a lot of energy, enough that it can be felt by all the viewers. Gucci Mane also performs in this music video, giving just as much energy and totally performing well. If anything, these guys will be amazing live.
There are some great lyric visualisations throughout, especially the smoking. It's so intoxicating that it really makes us think we're there and someone is blowing smoke into our faces. Clearly Rae Sremmurd's parties are welcome to many different people, much like the song suggests.
There is no sign of a Mannequin Challenge anywhere in this music video, which totally makes us question why this song is chosen for the said challenge. Regardless, the music video is relatable and hazy in it's own right. It's very basic, with not enough going on.
Sometimes new music excites me, and this is one of those cases. Chosen from my emails that I get every so often, Robyn Paige completely stuns in this beautiful narration visual of a music video. She's definitely beautiful in this clip and for sure a looks like an artist. Robyn Paige plays the other woman in this emotionally beautiful music video for "Righteous".
Robyn Paige is definitely making her sound heard, having managed to gain 10,000 hits on this music video alone really shows that "Righteous" has got people talking, and it's no surprise when a beautiful voice comes from this stunningly gorgeous girl. The song is about being torn between the right thing and the wrong thing but being unable to resist the wrong thing. Robyn Paige's vocals easily display the emotion of the song and really manages to hit home with it. It is the official debut single from Robyn Paige, and follows on from her previous song "Say You Will". This song was written by Robyn Paige, Johnson Orchid, and Corazon Baguma.
This music video was directed by Olan Collardy, and features Robyn Paige as the other woman. It's quite loving throughout, and it's clear from the start that something is up when she doesn't even move from her position in the bed whilst he reaches for his phone.
It's a great visual narration, showing how their relationship has unfolded previously and how they built it. Until, three quarters of the way through, the entire music stops as we watch another girl strut her stuff across a car park and enters his car.
We learn that Michael has been cheating and that the someone else is Robyn Paige. The storyline reminds me of Britney Spears' "Perfume", although both visuals are totally different in their own right.
Overall, it's a great concept, with Robyn Paige giving some fire acting skills. The song is intricately beautiful, and has a relatable accompanying music video that easily engages the audience throughout.
For anyone who knows, I actually went on a mini holiday to Dublin to see Inna last weekend. This is the song that started off her set, although it was only part of the countdown and she never actually sung it live. As I'm doing catch-up blogs, today's blog would've been released on Saturday, the day she performed at The Wright Venue in Dublin, Ireland. The song is a grower, and I admit that I didn't like it, myself, at first; but now it's one of my favourite tracks, and I really wish it had been a global hit for her. Inna collaborated with Pitbull on this upbeat pop song titled "Good Time", where we can see her group follow messages on a screen with hashtags.
Inna, real name Elena Alexandra Apostoleanu, is my favourite female artist in the music industry; however, you should already know that she's my queen if you follow my blog as I never stop talking about her. She was completely amazing live and I so want to see her again. She also spotted me in the crowd and pointed to me twice, I have video evidence of that. This song didn't make quite the impact and people had hoped and although Pitbull is a massive name, it didn't really help. Pitbull, real name Armando Pérez, is definitely 'Mr World Wide' as he calls himself, he also has nicknames for various other stars, Inna is: 'International Sensation'. He has collaborated with so many stars and has had various hits, so much so that he's made his name globally known. This song gained popularity much later on from its release, when it featured on the adverts for US drama 'Young & Hungry' as well as in 'Pitch Perfect 2'. The song was written by Steve Mac, Ina Wroldsen, and Armando C. Pérez.
Directed by Barna Nemethi, the music video is completely simple and relaxed, and yet completely fun. It is getting comparisons to Katy Perry's "This Is How We Do", which was released much later than this one.
A coin is inserted into a slot, then computers go looking for Pitbull. He appears on the screen, ready to introduced the song with his rap, as Inna prepares for a dance sequence; the choreography of which is simplistic, yet fun.
The entire music video is fun, the dancers and models and Inna react to each hashtag, which requires them to do something or present something. These action varies from bubbles to her blonde hair, from a pyjama party to golf, from paintball to cheer leading.
A lot of scene changes and costume changes. Surprisingly, it's compact, attempting to include as many actions as possible in such a short video is quite admirable. The ending ends with the need to insert a coin again, much like turning this music video into a continuous loop. Have this video on repeat, and it'll never end.
Overall, it's a total explosion of fun. Inna looks as sexy as ever, and yet her most happiest as she performs all these different actions with her backing dancers and models. It's bright and colourful, and it definitely unleashes fun into the world. It's time to have a good time with Inna & Pitbull.
OMG, like what the hell is this? What have I just watched? This is literally beyond crazy! I definitely don't know what to make of this, as of yet; as for the song, it's just as bad although kind of catchy in it's own right. This is most certainly a new release that has gone under the radar, although it's definitely one people will probably not be listening to. Joe Goddard's music video for "Lose Your Love" is beyond weird and totally crazy, and yet it has a fun lilt to it that is quite inclusive.
Joe Goddard is mostly known for being a part of band Hot Chip. He is also a part of The 2 Bears, as well as Greco Roman. Releasing music solo isn't something new since his iTunes page suggests he has released a fair amount of music. He's a DJ mainly. This song is a remix of the original by The Emotions, titled "I Don't Want To Lose Your Love".
The music video is directed by Fred Rowson. It features actor Benjamin Murray acting as the main character Störm, a spirit guru.
This music video is totally out there. Störm starts it all off in the bathroom as he psyches himself up to teach his class.
Benjamin Murray explained that the video was so fun to make. The actors really let go, allowing invisible energy balls to pass between them and absorb inside their bodies. Various scenes show Störm losing control of his class as a new guy comes in.
We see the little love strike he has for a certain female student and his obvious affection leads to jealousy and rage. It consumes him to the point where he is no longer the teacher and that it is all just students reacting to the film that's being shown.
The ending is quite thought-provoking and still doesn't make sense. If anything, this music video is completely absurd and totally weird. I most certainly don't want to watch it again, and although people are finding it hilarious and fun, I just don't see what I get out of it by watching it. I did not get this at all.
It's Thursday Revisit time, and it's obvious I was going to do an Inna music video review due to the fact that I'm going to see her in Dublin, Ireland on SATURDAY! It's so close! After checking what music videos I have already reviewed, I found out that this is the only one left that is older than five years, and it's not a music video I like. I much prefer the original music video to "Hot", which I have previously reviewed. This alternative music video for Inna's "Hot" shows off some performance vibes whilst dancers enact choreography. It's very bright and slightly over the top in a low budget way.

She will be performing in Dublin, Ireland on Saturday 3rd December 2016, it's the first time I have ever had the chance to see her live, and I am so excited - if you can't tell - and she will most likely sing this song. I've been a fan of Inna's for six years, so this is a dream come true to see her live. For anyone who read my previous review of the original music video, they will know the success of this single, and how much I love this song and that video. "Hot" was written by Sebastian Barac, Radu Bolfea, and Marcel Botezan.
This not so great music video was directed by Florin Botea, who also did the original international music video to "Hot". Two music videos by the same director for this song. One is far superior than the other, so it's no surprise this was an online music video.
Mainly a performance-based music video; we see Inna performing her song, with her usual energy, although she is dressed way over the top. This looks like an eccentric side to Inna, the side that wasn't really her at all.
The dancers aren't anything special, they do the choreography but it's nothing amazing. The visuals fail to capture anything real, and it just comes off very fake.
The bright lights definitely doesn't help, and it's all way too much. It's no surprise that the original version was chosen to market Inna's debut single around the world, although I don't see why they ever released this music video, but I guess it would've been wasted material if they hadn't. The other version is way better and my star rating proves that.
This year of Eurovision brought the battle of the warriors, as Amber also released a song called "Warrior"; however, Nina Sublatti totally won by making it to the Grand Final of the Eurovision Song Contest 2015, whereas Amber didn't make it. Nina Sublatti, for Georgia, came 11th with 51 points. Showing strong female warriors, this video shows girl power and strength in a great visual for Nina Sublatti's "Warrior".
Nina Sublatti, real name Nina Sulaberidze, won the national selection for Georgia in 2015 and therefore came to represent the country at Eurovision. She had previously released a few singles, as well as an album. After Eurovision, she released a few more singles that didn't chart so well. Then she went on to become a judge on the Georgian version of The X Factor. This song was written by Nina Sublatti and Thomas G:son.
The music video was directed by David Gogokhia. It features five models, portraying Tamar of Georgia, who is a Georgian National Hero who ruled Georgia as the first Queen Regnant. The models are Nina Potskhishvili, Mariam Sanogo, Keta Gavasheli, Lina Tsiklauri, and Dea Aptsiauri.
There isn't a lot to this very visual video that is completely filmed in black and white. There's not an awful lot of movement in the video, although there are two very cute huskies.
The performance piece is extremely static. Nina Sublatti was clearly told not to move much, and this does lead to quite a bland visual. However, I guess it's some sort of visual of strength.
Overall it's not that memorable, and definitely hasn't got a lot going on. I don't get why they chose it to be shown in black and white, and I also don't see why Nina Sublatti couldn't give a better visual in her performance piece. I feel there should've been more to this music video.
Another Inna music video I haven't reviewed and what better time to review it when I'm going to see her in Dublin, Ireland in a few days time. I literally can't believe it's this close. This was one of my favourite songs from her third album, and I used it as my ringtone on my phone for a while due to the amazing opening lyric. Inna proves she can dance in this performance-based music video for "In Your Eyes" that is extremely sexy and includes a visual of featured singer Yandel.

This song was the last single release from her third studio album "Party Never Ends". I sure hope she sings it at her Dublin gig in Ireland. The song features Yandel, real name Llandel Veguilla Malavé, who is from Puerto Rica. He has made his own name in Latin music, mostly as being part of a duo named Wisin & Yandel. This song was written by Steve Mac, Ina Wroldsen, and Llandel Veguilla.
Directed by Barna Némethi, this is another music video by Inna that doesn't have a lot to it. The video is another performance-based video, showing off her performance vibes. This definitely gets me excited to see her on Saturday, not going to lie; although not so keen on what she's wearing.
It's clear the team behind this music video went for sex appeal, in the hope that it will attract many male and the few female watchers to the video; especially since her top - do we even call it a top? It's just a piece of material wrapped around her - keeps moving. She almost falls out plenty of times. Yet, sex does sell and with a body like Inna's we can't really blame them.
The scenes give a chance to have a choreographed dance scene, but it's clear they never brought anyone in to do a segment, and so they look like unrehearsed dancers, who are freestyling and grooving to the song. Inna fully shows she can dance, which is something different for her, although if she were thrown a full choreography segment, it would have worked better.
As for Yandel, he comes off well, although his scene is intercut with scenes of Inna since she would appeal more to the audience viewing the video. As a whole, this could've looked a lot more professional, instead it just looks a little lost. There should've been a dance scene, but Inna still shows off her performance ability effortlessly.
Now before you all moan that I haven't tagged the featured artist, Kendrick Lamar, into this blog post, it's because this music video doesn't include his rap. Since Clean Bandit is still at the top of the UK Singles Chart in collaboration with Anne-Marie & Sean Paul with "Rockabye", it opens the top 10 for my Chart Mondays review. I chose this one because it's an extremely catchy song and the video is quirky and spoof funny. Maroon 5 dress as bugs, that humans are trying to catch and zap on a mobile app similar to Pokemon Go. Frontman Adam Levine falls for a woman in an orange costume who can fly in this video for "Don't Wanna Know".
Maroon 5 is a band we all know and love. They always have some of the best music videos and have really stood the test of time with their music and longevity. The band consists of Adam Levine, Jesse Carmichael, Mickey Madden, James Valentine, Matt Flynn, and PJ Morton. They've had various hits over the years, and this being in the UK Top 10 Singles Chart is another one to add to their collection. The song originally features a rap from Kendrick Lamar, real name Kendrick Duckworth. He is one of the biggest American rappers out at the moment, but surprisingly the song has omitted the rap from this music video. The song was written by Kendrick Lamar, Adam Levine, Benny Blanco, John Ryan, Jacob Kasher, Ammar Malik, Kurtis McKenzie, Jon Mills, and Alex Ben-Abdullah.
Directed by David Dobkin, the video is a comedic spoof of Pokemon Go. Whilst also relating to the song, it is definitely quirky. The video also has cameos from various stars including Sarah Silverman, Amanda Cerny, Shaquille O'Neal, Ed Helms, and Vince Vaughn.
The opening scenes show Adam Levine in his bug costume, which he wears throughout the video. He is missing his former lover, Sarah Silverman, who is displayed in a photograph. His costume is super cute, for sure.
The music kicks in as he drives around town, with clips of the other band members going about their day, all of which are dressed up in bright coloured bug-like costumes too.
Adam Levine's car comes to a stop at a crossing as he watches Ed Helms get chased by people with an app, which later zaps Ed Helms and he vanishes. Adam Levine gets out of his car and starts to run. At the same time, the other band members start to run. There are seven band members shown in the video, which means touring member Sam Farrar also appears in this video too.
Adam Levine manages to escape to a park, where he hides behind a tree until he comes across Amanda Cerny dressed as an orange. They get found by humans and she flies away, up into the air. This is where this narration ends and a new one picks up... Did Adam Levine get zapped? Or did he manage to run away? We may never know.
The new narration picks up with Adam Levine sunbathing in his bug costume beside his pool. A human jumps over the fence to try and zap him with the app, but Adam Levine zaps him right back; don't walk on a Pokemon's property or be prepared to be blown up!
The video continues with a party and the aftermath of the party. We watch as Adam Levine finally stumbles across the orange again, but she turns her back on him; how rude! At the end, we watch a café scene with Vince Vaughn as they chat about standing up for themselves.
The chopped up narrative is intercut with performance scenes, including a tour scene. Showing energy and their usual flare, Maroon 5 shine even when in their costumes. I like the director's comedic scene where he suggests the group should wear hats, but Adam Levine doesn't want to spoil his image, all the while dressed as a very cute animal!
Overall, this video is totally full and fun. They look exhausted being in those costumes. Adam Levine looks love lost which is totally good, but for the first time in a long time, the other band members manage to outshine the frontman. It's refreshing to see, but definitely not something I was expecting. The narrative is too separate for my liking, it doesn't quite flow and doesn't make complete sense. Yet, it's solid nonetheless.
Today, I let my iTunes choose a song, and as I played my music on shuffle, this one came on and I knew I had to review it's accompanying music video. It's a highly emotive song and effortlessly sung by the vocalist. It translated perfectly into a music video and definitely helps to inspire people globally. Released as a tribute to Paul Bäumer, one-half of Bingo Players, who died of cancer the year earlier; "Knock You Out" sees a girl train herself up to be stronger in the gym after she's had enough of her boyfriend beating her up.
Bingo Players is a one-man project consisting of DJ, Maarten Hoogstraten. Originally, a duo, Paul Bäumer died of cancer. The project continues because that was the latter's wishes. Unfortunately, this single didn't do quite as well as "Get Up (Rattle)" did, which was their last single as a duo. Even though this was released as a tribute to Paul Bäumer and even though this song is so catchy and emotive, it didn't get the recognition it definitely deserved. The vocalist on the song is Kim Viera; hailing from New York, she's building her own career. After singing a few cover songs, she has gone on to release them. The song was written by Maarten Hoogstraten, Magnus Beite, Mikkel Eriksen, Paul Bäumer, Sia Furler, and Tor Hermansen.
This narrative based music video shows a woman in an abusive relationship, attempting to make herself stronger so that she can leave him.
Relating to the song perfectly, it exactly translates the "My fight is won. Who needs a gun." lyrics, which is totally suggestive of where she is now compared to where she was back then.
Clips switch between the past and the present. In the past, we see her relationship turn abusive, where she gets knocked about. In the present, we watch her toughening up in the gym, as she learns how to fight and defend herself.
At the end, we see her meet up with a new guy, someone who takes her bag from her and clearly cares for her. We watch as they walk past her abusive ex-boyfriend. Her smirk suggests her confidence and proves that she knows he's missing out on her gorgeous self.
Full of uplifting confidence that will surely inspire many people in the world, both men and women. It really goes to show how a music video can make an inspirational impact on people globally. Might've been nice to see a performance piece cut between the scenes, but not at the loss of any of the visuals.
Since it's a week until I see Inna for the first time, I thought I'll review one of my favourite songs from her. I remember when this was released, and I loved the song so much. Not so keen on the sexualised music video, which we'll get to later, but the song is most definitely fire. The song was written by Ilsey Juber, Marcel Botezan, Radu Bolfea, and Sebastian Barac.
The video was directed by Michael Mircea, with intricate editing techniques which makes it quite artistic.
Inna performs with her usual vibes, she's definitely into the song and she works the camera. Her dancer, however, fails to give anything more to the music video. He feels more like a filler than anything else.
A few different outfits that certainly shows Inna's body. Yet the thing that steals the entire video is definitely the snake visual. A snake is tantalisingly dangerous, slithering over Inna.
The effects are intricate and artistic, from fire to smoke, from mirrored reflections to water illusions. This video attempted to make it more interesting, and yet fails to capture some of the audience. Considering Inna totally upped her game with her next music video: "Bop Bop", which is total fire; this one totally falls flat.
I have literally been waiting for this day to come, ever since Jordan Gray announced her debut single, and then later followed it up with a music video. I have refrained from reviewing it on my blog until today because I wanted it to be my New Release this week, and here it is. Jordan Gray looks amazing during a cis male-trans female love scene with Mickey Taylor; whilst performing "Platinum" in scenes including Billie Gold and Isabella Bliss.
Jordan Gray is known for being a contestant on the fifth series of The Voice UK. She made a name for herself as being the first trans to appear on The Voice in any series across the world. Unfortunately, none of the coaches turned for her, but one of Paloma Faith's acts dropped out and she had the ability to bring someone who didn't get any turns, she chose Jordan Gray. It didn't stop there, though, Jordan Gray progressed all the way to the semi-finals. This is her debut single and she is hoping for a good chart placement. It isn't doing so well, so help her out and buy "Platinum" on iTunes.

The opening scene starts the narrative as we watch Jordan Gray in a love scene with male actor Mickey Taylor, who is obviously her love interest. It is the first time there has been a cis male-trans female love scene in a mainstream music video. They are tantalisingly sexy on the bed.
There are various short snippets of performance pieces, from Jordan Gray at the piano, as well as performing on a stage surrounded by blue lighting.
Later Isabella Bliss and Billie Gold sex up the video even more in a burlesque scene, which later transitions into a black and white car scene where Jordan Gray is in the front singing the song whilst Billie Gold and Isabella Bliss are passengers in the back.
If anything, this music video is extremely thought out, definitely showcasing Jordan Gray as an artist, all the while relating to the song in every way. This music video is confident, strong, and one that will be embedded in your mind so that you have to watch it again. Fierce and sexy, with an infectious voice, Jordan Gray is on her way to superstardom.
Before today, I haven't heard this song, let alone seen the music video, but since it's Thursday Revisit, I thought I'll choose Aly & AJ because it's unlikely they'll feature on my blog again, for a while at least. This is their debut single, that did all right. They were Disney stars, and I remember thinking they reminded me of Mary-Kate & Ashley, although Aly & AJ aren't twins. In this music video for "Rush", we watch Aly & AJ being gypsy-like, busking to earn money and then spending it on recording material for the song.
Aly & AJ are sister duo consisting of Alyson Michalka and Amanda Joy Michalka, they changed their name to 78violet for all of an unreleased album, before changing it back. Their biggest hit to date is "Potential Breakup Song" which became an international success. They have acted in a number of films and TV Series, mainly separately, although they have been in a few together. Their debut song hit the US Billboard Chart at number 59. It was written by Alyson Michalka, Amanda Michalka, and Carlos Tornes.
This music video is directed by Marc Webb. There is another music video out there, released by Disney, which features the sisters on stage whilst there are scenes of "Twitches" intercut throughout. I am reviewing Marc Webb's music video because it feels much more official.
We watch the girls in various scenes. Most notably Jackass Ginger, which is a local popular swimming spot near Pali Lookout, Oahu, Hawaii.
The scenes show the girls having fun with their friends, doing what they want and having a good time. To gain money, they busk, which clearly brings in a lot of money as we watch them go and buy recording equipment.
It's a simple music video, but it captures the essence of the song, and it really is quite visually interesting. On the second watch, you see things you may have missed the first time, which definitely makes this something special. Aly & AJ are currently working on a new album, so I look forward to that being released.
