Burns Like Fire - Sam Callahan |

As soon as this dropped, I knew I'd be using it as my New Release for this date, after writing up about it for CelebMix. The song has been out for over two weeks now, but this blog is backdated as I attempt to catch up on my blog posts. I have supported Sam Callahan since I stumbled across "Runaway Train", and have continued to support him as the years have gone by, he even became Artist of the Month on my blog, back when I was focusing on those posts. Now he's got another brilliant song out, and I can't get enough of it. Watch Sam Callahan walk through a forest as three women throw colour powder over him and cling to his tee, eventually ripping it from him in this sexy music video for "Burns Like Fire".

Sam Callahan is a UK male singer-songwriter who has been releasing music for many years. Most notably, he was a contestant on the tenth series of The X Factor, where he made it to the live shows and came seventh overall. Since then he has been working on new music and has been dropping a lot of teasers, we've already had "Bigger Things", which was then followed up with "I Love It When You", and now we've got "Burns Like Fire" which is an extremely addicting track. He later dropped a remix and a live acoustic version of the track. The song was written by Sam Callahan and Jamie Sellers.

Directed by Johnny Marchtta, this music video has to be Sam Callahan's best one to date, for sure. There's not a lot going on throughout, as this male singer-songwriter walks slowly through the forest. Acting as his three love interests are actresses and models Rebecca Liddle, Jo Marney, and Jazmine Martin.

Taking the "before it all blew up in my face" lyric and turning it into colour powder, this music video centres around that. As Sam Callahan walks through the forest, each girl approaches, throws the colour powder at him, clings on to him, and pulls at his t-shirt.

By the end, all three women surround him and throw powder before attempting to tear his t-shirt off him; they eventually do and we're treated to a topless Sam Callahan. We then see him wake up in bed - it was all some weird colourful dream, or so he thinks. He flings the duvet from him and we see that he's covered in the colour powder. What really happened then? Your guess is as good as mine.

Overall, it's a clever concept of a music video. It's addicting, enjoyable, and interesting in every way. They all look like they had great fun filming the video, although it's clear that Sam Callahan's necklace gets in the way at times. I hope the future music videos from this talented male singer is of the same high quality.

Gasolina - Daddy Yankee |

I just had to review this song for my Thursday Revisit, since this is Daddy Yankee's only UK hit before his collaboration with Luis Fonsi, on "Despacito" came along. I've been aware of him ever since, though, and he has collaborated with some of my favourite singers including Inna, Alexandra Stan, and Fergie. It's about time he's gained international success once again, and I'm so glad "Despacito" enlightened the world to Daddy Yankee since he has many better songs than this one to be his identifiable track. Watch Daddy Yankee bring reggaeton to the world as women dance to "Gasolina" all before he switches it up and brings a serious spin for "King Daddy" in this double music video.

Daddy Yankee, real name Ramón Rodríguez, is from Puerto Rico and he has had quite the lengthy career. He's definitely one of the biggest male Latin and Reggaeton artists around. This song is his first international hit, and it even managed to chart at number five on the UK chart. Since then he has made astronomical waves in the music industry, and almost a decade later he returned to the UK Chart with "Despacito", at number one. This time, I imagine Daddy Yankee will stay in the charts around the world. The music video is a double video, the first half is "Gasolina", which is the song that charted in various countries around the world, it was written by Ramón Ayala and Eddie Ávila. Whereas "King Daddy" was written by Ramón Ayala, and wasn't released as an official single.

Directed by Carlos Pérez, the music video is a pure performance visual with very little going on within. Daddy Yankee sure knows how to perform, he's got that hip-hop energy we're so used to seeing from many amazing rappers; however, he brings it in a totally different style, and we fully love it.

As for the women, they can dance but it's all a little awkward as there isn't any choreography, they're just moving to the beat. There's nothing special about them, apart from the fact they are here to sex up the video. Then the video just flips.

When "King Daddy" kicks in, there's a whole serious spin as we see people walking with riot shields. It looks like a narrative will appear, but this doesn't happen and we see Daddy Yankee just continue to perform. He sure has energy, but this is a very basic music video that deserved to have been much better.

Versace On the Floor - Bruno Mars |

Those of you who know me, know I'm not a fan of Bruno Mars; actually, I really don't like the majority of his songs, and this is one of them. But I am so far behind on my blog that I literally hate myself right now, so as I try to fly through catch-up blogs, I don't have time to be picky on the music videos I choose to review and this one literally just came into my head. It wasn't quite a hit for Bruno Mars, but the video sure got people talking. Watch Bruno Mars play the piano and sing a song to Zendaya through the walls of the hotel asking her to take her dress off in this music video for "Versace On The Floor".

Bruno Mars, real name Peter Hernandez, is one of the biggest American male singers in the world. He's dipped into various genres but is mainly known for his R&B, funk, and pop music. His latest album faired pretty well on charts around the world, as he continues to dominate the music industry with unstoppable songs, however his latest singles from this album hasn't exactly been global hits; even though they are undeniably catchy. This is certainly one of them, with its unsubtle lyrics. Unfortunately, this is not a collaboration with Zendaya, although if it were, I reckon it would've got better chart placements since I was expecting her luscious female vocals to break up Bruno Mars' perfectly. This song was written by Bruno Mars, Philip Lawrence, Christopher Brody Brown, and James Fauntleroy.

Directed by Cameron Duddy & Bruno Mars, this music video doesn't have a lot going on in it. It's a slight performance piece from Bruno Mars, but since he is stuck behind the piano most of the video, it doesn't entertain the audience all that much; therefore making Zendaya with the spotlight - oh why didn't she sing in this?

The narrative kicks off the visual as Bruno Mars steps out of an elevator and walks up to his hotel door, all the while checking out Zendaya, who's just standing at her door waiting to step inside; they share a look before retiring to their own rooms. This is where Bruno Mars plays the piano and starts to sing, clearly very loudly as Zendaya can hear it in her room next door, but instead of complaining, she enjoys the music.

That's about it to this music video, Zendaya - full name Zendaya Coleman - dances around the room, and moves in rhythm to the song. She acts sexily when the lyrics suggest, and eventually, her Versace dress falls to the floor and we presume she's the one who knocks on Bruno Mars' door.

The music video is quite relatable to the song, and it does have the same slow pace as the track. The song isn't all that entertaining unless you enjoy Bruno Mars' risque lyrics that have no subtlety to them at all. I just wish there was something more to this, it's sensual but just not enough. Plus, Zendaya so should've featured on this song, even just for this music video alone.

Old Blue Jeans - Hannah Montana |

Gosh, I've had this song stuck in my head all day! To be fair, you can't really blame me, as it certainly is catchy. I'm delighted to have found the music video, although it is just a stage performance music video, so nothing special whatsoever. Watch Miley Cyrus perform as Hannah Montana and sing "Old Blue Jeans" in front of a crowd during a gig in this music video.

Hannah Montana was a TV series that ran between 2006 and 2011 on the Disney Channel, which saw Miley Cyrus take on lead character Miley Stewart, who lives a double life as an average school girl and a famous recording artist called Hannah Montana. I have never seen a single episode of this series - since I did not have the Disney Channel at the time - but I did see the movie, which was pretty good. There are many catchy songs that have come from the TV show, this certainly being one of them. It later led to some of the songs charting in some countries as Miley Cyrus' own music career launched. The song was never released as an official single, but it did get this music video. "Old Blue Jeans" was written by Michael Bradford and Pam Sheyne.

This is just a concert music video. A pure performance visual, obviously. It really does leave me with little to say. Although, it's clear the audience fully enjoyed the show throughout.

As expected, Miley Cyrus brings it dressed as Hannah Montana; and just like the song she is wearing a hell of a lot of denim, although she's not wearing some old blue jeans, that's for sure.

There's a lot of energy being spread in the music video as they perform with instruments and the dancers are full of life. It really does transcend perfectly to the audience.

Although this is a good gig music video, they so could have given this song a much better visual. There's so much good energy and as a gig music video, it isn't so bad but still could've been better.

Finders Keepers (feat. Kojo Funds) - Mabel |

I am still behind on my blog, and it's all CelebMix's fault for being slow, it's Fergie's fault for dropping a new music video each day, and recently, it's INNA's fault for dropping a new promotional single a day. Regardless, I'm determined to catch up on my blog, eventually - I will catch up, I promise. So, here is another Chart Mondays, backdated to 20 November 2017, where Camila Cabello is still at number one with "Havana" featuring Young Thug - she's still at the top spot right now - so it opens the top ten to my review, and Mabel has been inside for some time, and is at number ten on this day, about to drop out fully. Watch Mabel and Kojo Funds dance in a low-light club as they perform their collaborative song "Finders Keepers".

Mabel, full name Mabel McVey, is a Swedish singer who was born in Spain, and currently lives in the UK. She is the daughter of Neneh Cherry and Cameron McVey. She has released mixtapes, EPs, and various singles, clearly leading up to an album, eventually. This song is her only hit to date, although I reckon she'll have another one as the years go by. She's confident, sassy, and clearly in love with her music and we get all that from this clip alone. I definitely suggest you keep an eye on Mabel as she builds up her career. The song features Kojo Funds, who is an emerging rapper from London. He's definitely creating his own waves in the industry, collaborating with some of the best artists. I reckon we'll be hearing from him a lot more in the future. The song was written by Mabel McVey, Jordan D. Reid, Marlon Roudette, Errol Bellot, and Steven Marsden.

Directed by Savanah Leaf, this music video is a pure performance visual that contains a lot of dancing. It has a current grime feel to it, and the club sure emulates that in every way.

There really isn't a lot going on in the visual. Mabel brings it when she's singing the song, but she looks like she's more interested in clubbing and dancing with the dancers and Kojo Funds, rather than actually sending the song out to the viewers in the visual.

The dancing is freestyle throughout with no choreography whatsoever, it's not impressive and doesn't bring anything to the table. It's all relaxed and just comes off simple. I feel some clips are repeated, and there's just nothing to this. Kojo Funds adds great energy at the start of the video, but it's just not enough.

Lordly (feat. Alex Aiono) - Feder |

I've kind of had an Alex Aiono addiction on my blog recently since I went to see him live at his London gig for CelebMix. So, I thought I might as well continue reviewing his music videos, especially since he impressed at the O2 Academy 2 Islington when I was there. He didn't sing this song, or maybe he did and I didn't clock it. Either way, I love this song and music video, it has an addicting side to it the more you listen. Watch Alex Aiono perform this track whilst two sets of dancers are controlled by Feder in this music video for "Lordly".

Feder, real name Hadrien Federiconi, is a French DJ who has had a few successful hits, this track totally being one of them, although it's his debut "Goodbye" featuring Lyse that really launched him and gave him his first international hit. He's certainly one to keep your eye on as he brings out more addicting tracks that we all can't get enough of. The feature on this song is Alex Aiono, who has pretty much been making waves within the music industry. He's prepared to release a fully-fledged global hit, one that's clearly on the cards soon enough - especially with his massive following and considering the awesome songs he has dropped to date. This song did manage to chart in many countries. It was written by Hadrien Federiconi and Tienus Konijnenburg.

Directed by Kristian Young, this music video is quite theatrical - much like the backing track of this song. It definitely has a dark theme going on, especially since Feder acts as quite an evil character, controlling two sets of contemporary dancers.

It's almost as if the dancers are battling it out to win some sort of prize, and during some of the scenes, it looks like Feder has to choose between them. Regardless he is definitely controlling them with his writing, or spinning of a coin, or via the cards at the start. Once the coin stops spinning, the dancers all fall to the floor.

The contemporary dancing is on point throughout, with all four dancers impressing to no end. The routine is mighty complex and easily emulates the beat of the track. As for Alex Aiono, he brings quite a relaxed energy to his performance piece, which is a contrast to the dancers, and slightly disappointing.

Overall, this music video would've been much better if it had made a little bit more sense. It's like they've built this entire concept but not revealed it so the viewers are left confused. It's a solid track though and one that I'll definitely be listening to again and again.

Boom Boom (with Daddy Yankee, French Montana & Dinah Jane) - RedOne |

There is so much going on in this music video, you have to do your best not to blink. I've been meaning to review this visual for a while now since Dinah Jane is my favourite Fifth Harmony member - although I do love each of the girls and will support all of them on their solo releases and collective releases. This song is quite the collaboration, and the song sure is fire in every way. It's a real shame that it didn't blow up internationally, as it is definitely worthy of being a global hit. Watch RedOne, Daddy Yankee, French Montana & Dinah Jane present Morocco in all it's beauty as we watch two female characters use teleporting bracelets that send them to various places in Morocco in this music video for "Boom Boom".

RedOne, real name Nadir Khayat, is probably most known for his songwriting collaborations with Lady Gaga, is there any way we can say his name without singing it the way we've heard it over the years? He has since gone into releasing his own music, this song becoming his official second single. He always manages to turn it into a massive collaboration. His debut was "Don't You Need Somebody" featuring Enrique Iglesias, R. City, Serayah, and Shaggy. This one is a collaboration with a whole ray of artists. Daddy Yankee, real name Ramón Rodríguez, is one of the biggest, if not the biggest, Puerto Rica singer-songwriter. He's had phenomenal international success and he'll always be a force to be reckoned with. His biggest single is "Gasolina" back in 2004, but he's become popular all over again with the Luis Fonsi collaboration on "Despacito". "Boom Boom" also sees French Montana and Dinah Jane on this track. The former's real name is Karim Kharbouch. He went viral with his hit single "Unforgettable" featuring Swae Lee, since then he has been releasing some great songs and killer collaborations. The latter's full name is Dinah Jane Hansen. She's one-fourth of girl group Fifth Harmony. She previously released a solo single before her days on The X Factor and in the girl group, titled "Dancing Like A White Girl". She's certainly has a massive career ahead of her. This song samples Modjo's "Lady (Hear Me Tonight)" hence some of the writing credits. "Boom Boom" was written by Nadir Khayat, Ramón Ayala, Edwin Serrano, Timothy Thomas, Theron Makiel Thomas, Jakke Erixson, Yann Destagnol, Roman Tranchert, Bernard Edwards, and Nile Rodgers.

Directed by Saïd C. Naciri, this music video is both performance and narrative based. We follow two female characters, played by Amanda Cerny and Abla Essofi, as they find two bracelets that allow them to teleport to various places in Morocco. The narrative is full-on and cleverly includes the performance piece as part of the background with intercut scenes.

It opens up with Amanda Cerny and Abla Essofi outside Red Coast University Los Angeles. They put on the bracelets and teleport themselves and the carriage to Marrakech, Morocco, where doors open to display RedOne starting the song off with a load of female companions behind him.

This is where one of the biggest name intros starts as each act calls out their name for the track, with intercut scenes of various locations in Morocco. The party is in full swing as the names are called out, and as the first verse starts, our two main characters decide to bail, using the bracelets to travel to Chefchaouen where Daddy Yankee is performing in an alleyway, they stay there for a second before they decide to ride on top of a taxi that is full of Guess product placement.

As Daddy Yankee wraps up his verse, the taxi puts the break on and the girls go flying. They use the bracelets, quickly, and instead, they land on a beach in Cabo Negro. A full-on beach party is in full swing with RedOne performing the chorus of the song. After having a great time at the beach party, they use the bracelets again, just in time for the next verse.

Amanda Cerny and Abla Essofi teleport to the streets of Tétouan where groups of horsemen are riding towards them as French Montana sings his chorus on a rooftop accompanied by RedOne and Dinah Jane - where Daddy Yankee is, who knows? Maybe he's one of the horsemen? It looks weird to have three out of the four singers on the rooftop. As French Montana's verse ends, the horses are nearly on top of our characters and they teleport themselves and the horses away from Tétouan.

The two women end up inside a car, which parks outside the Royal Mansour Marrakech hotel. They get out of the car and are greeted by a huge lion and RedOne - once again, it's totally time for the chorus. Another party ensues, RedOne sure knows how to put on a party, please invite me next time. This is a defining scene as during the chorus the dancers are all in black tie clothing, but then the dance beats kick in, they transform to sand particles and reemerge in blue dance-wear.

Our two main characters look up to find hot air balloons, and soon use the bracelets to teleport inside one. This is where Dinah Jane comes in, she's floating in her own hot air balloon, giving off some much-needed female vocals over the Moroccan Sahara. Down below, RedOne and Daddy Yankee ride beach buggies over the sand as the latter sings the rest of the verse.

The final scene of the song itself is a night beach party in Merzouga. All the artists, the dancers, and Amanda Cerny & Abla Essofi perform around a wood campfire. But, that's not the end, our two main characters arrive back outside the university, where a lecturer comes out telling them to get back to class or they will fail. He's also not impressed with the clothes they are wearing - they are the ones they wore to the Royal Mansour Marrakech hotel. The girls decide to use the bracelets again, and the video ends with the hook of the song and various snapshot videos of the various places that they visited in Morocco.

This music video is amazing from start to finish. They have literally showcased Morocco in every single way. It may not relate all that well with the song itself, but who cares when they've created this awesome visual? All the artists bring energetic performance vibes, with each one making their presence known in the music video, not one of them is overshadowed - although I would've liked to have seen Dinah Jane a little more, hell I would've liked her to have sung more of the song too. The dancers were incredible in every way, with the choreography lit - something I want to totally learn. This music video is just WOW!

Échame La Culpa - Luis Fonsi & Demi Lovato |

This hot new collaboration was released on the 17 November 2017, and therefore is acting as my New Release for this backdated date. It's quite the team-up, one we all can't help but love, especially since Latin music is extremely popular right now. The song is dead catchy with ex-summer vibes displayed throughout; however, it feels like they've transformed the track into a eurodance anthem and it just feels like it's trying that little bit too hard; regardless it is fire! Watch Luis Fonsi and Demi Lovato come together in this fired-up dance music video which sees them perform together for the song "Échame La Culpa".

Luis Fonsi, real name Luis López-Cepero, is from Puerto Rico and is best known for his worldwide hit "Despacito" which was a collaboration with Daddy Yankee, and was later remixed with vocals from Justin Bieber. It blew up all around the world, grabbing many number ones in various countries. It has certainly launched Luis Fonsi as an international artist, one we're all keeping our eyes on. He has been in music since the late 90's which is truly remarkable and shows that perseverance really does lead to international fame. In comparison, Demi Lovato has certainly not been in music for as long, but she is one of the rising female artists in the world, one we're all aware of and constantly listening to, so this duet was definitely the perfect collab. It just feels like it's been released a little too late, Latin music always brings the summer sunshine, but it's now winter, and this doesn't have the winter-feel to it. In English "Échame La Culpa" means "Put The Blame On Me". It was written by Luis Fonsi, Alejandro Rengifo, Mauricio Rengifo, and Andrés Torres.

Directed by Carlos R. Perez, the music video has a lot of Latin vibes to it, working well with Spanglish song. Demi Lovato's clipped Spanish isn't so bad but after a few plays, you realise she's not fluent in Spanish at all - which we already knew.

This is more of a performance piece more than anything. Luis Fonsi and Demi Lovato start off with intercut scenes, she's in a bedroom, lying on a bed, whilst he's in an alleyway, walking down some stairs - he looks hot in those trousers whilst she looks hot throughout the entire visual. They talk on the phone, saying "Hey", before hitting the club where they dance the night away.

Their performance pieces are on fire, and you can expect an entertaining show with both these amazing artists on stage at a gig. Luis Fonsi brings it a little more than what Demi Lovato does, and he manages to get more video time. The elevator sure is a main visual that we presume takes us to the club, although we're not sure how Demi Lovato gets there.

Overall this music video would've worked a lot better if there had been a narrative or we had at least seen how Demi Lovato went from the bedroom to the club. She seems awkward in her dancing at the venue whilst everyone else bats out brilliant choreography. She does bring it to the performance piece, though. As for Luis Fonsi, he practically saves the whole video from completely falling apart.

Fade Into Darkness - Avicii |

Time for my Thursday Revisit and there wasn't much choice this week; so I decided on this infamous music video by Avicii, as it was one of his first ever music videos, and it is the song that pretty much helped to launch him after the court battle against Leona Lewis and her label Syco which is owned by Simon Cowell. This song is the vocal edit of what originally was known as "Penguin". It's dead catchy which is no surprise since it is an Avicii track. Watch a couple spend time together before the woman leaves and walks away; the guy follows her and she shoots him in this surprising music video for Avicii's "Fade Into Darkness".

Avicii, real name Tim Bergling who is also known as Tim Berg, was just a rising DJ when he released this song back in 2011. Originally called "Penguin", the song samples "Perpetuum Mobile" by Penguin Cafe Orchestra - that was the song that Avicii expected Leona Lewis and Syco to use for their song "Collide"; imagine his surprise when they actually used his song "Penguin" and didn't credit him. Legal action ensued and they soon came to an agreement, and music was the answer. "Collide" became a collaborative hit for both artists. This song was released beforehand; it features uncredited vocals by Andreas Moe. The song was written by Tim Bergling, Arash Pournouri, Simon Jeffes, John Martin, Michel Zitron, and Måns Wredenberg.

The music video was directed by Tobias Hansson & Karl Aulin. It's a fully narrative video that easily represents the song in every way.

A man and a woman enjoy themselves in a bedroom together, having fun, and cuddling. However, it's not all fun and games, as the woman wakes up, dons her jacket, leaves a note, and walks out. He wakes up to find her gone, comes across the letter, and goes in search of her.

As the music plays on, we watch her walk with determination, bustling into people without caring and the lights on the path all go out as she walks past - she literally is fading into darkness. There's clearly something she's not happy about, and when the guy catches up with her, she pulls out a gun and shoots him dead.

People have suggested she's a female assassin who fell for her target - which is definitely plausible. The overall visual totally works with the song and has a great ending that people don't expect at all. To me, the song is lyrically more catchy than "Collide", I'd rather listen to this than Leona Lewis' vocal track.

Ты Мой Огонь - Kristian Kostov |

This music video is completely awesome, and that is why I'm covering it on my blog today, even though I'm going to have to deal with this awkward title that I can't possibly type out on my English keyboard - why do I always make it difficult for myself. This track is addicting, but it's the music video that really allows this Eurovision 2017 singer to shine. It excites me, as it proves he has a bright future in every way. Watch Kristian Kostov perform, dance, and act alongside an actress as they transform his new song into a stunning visual in this music video for "Ты мой огонь".

Kristian Kostov is best known for coming second in the Eurovision Song Contest 2017 with his song "Beautiful Mess"; he represented Bulgaria and scored 615 points. That certainly launched him internationally, but before then he appeared on Golos. Deti (The Voice Kids Russia) where he got to the finals coming joint fourth. Not long after that, he competed in The X Factor Bulgaria, once again he got to the finals and came second overall. He's been a big hit in Bulgaria and has had a couple of hit singles. His Eurovision song sure launched him as an artist, but he has since released songs in his home language of Russian, just like this one. "Ты мой огонь" means "You Are My Fire" in English and regardless of the fact that I don't understand a word he is singing, the song is beyond catchy and shows exactly why he deserves to be an international star. The song was written by Vadim Igorevich Bulaev, and Daniel Kostov.

Directed by Vasil Stefanov, this music video has a lot of Nick Jonas and Tove Lo "Close" vibes going on, but in a more warped sense. There is a clear connection between the pair, but they don't quite get together, almost like they're playing the game, just like the lyrics suggest.

It's really clever the way they've managed to interpret the lyrics and made this addicting visual - I only know this as I used a rough Google Translation of the lyrics to understand what Kristian Kostov was singing.

The dancing is on point throughout, and it is amazing to see Kristian Kostov fully nail the routine. The choreographer was Milen Dankov and he also came up with the concept that really makes this whole thing work. We all wish we could dance like that; Milen Dankov please come to the UK and teach me!

The performance piece includes Kristian Kostov's face being projected on his real face, with some awesome smoke effects too. This really shows off his stage presence, which we also saw at Eurovision 2017. He brings the fire, just like he does during the dance sequence.

Overall, the music video has a big concept that totally relates to the lyrics in every way. This is one of those visuals that continue to impress every time you watch it. It's one I will never get tired of, and one that works perfectly with the song! Even if you haven't got a clue what the lyrics of the song are about, the characters sure gives a great representation, instead.

Apocalypse - Marcus James & Jessica Zraly |

I had planned to review this back in April, during my Birmingham Pride Special 2017; however, it turned out I got confused with the fact that there are two Marcus James', and this one isn't the DJ who performed at Birmingham Pride 2017. This one is someone totally different, yet he proves he is just as good and on fire with this track! This has literally been sitting in drafts for ages, so I thought I might as well write up about it. Watch Marcus James & Jessica Zraly drive to an abandoned space under a bridge, where they smash up a watermelon, spray paint, and just have fun in this music video for "Apocalypse".

Marcus James, full name Marcus Jame Berelowitz, is a DJ from Vancouver, Canada. He has released a number of singles and has collaborated with Jessica Zraly a number of times. He's quickly becoming someone to watch, especially since one of his tracks, "Dancer" feat. Lord L, has had over 34,000 plays on SoundCloud. This track is available as a free download and it sure is addicting in every way. It's a collaboration with Jessica Zraly who has gone on to become an Instagram cover singer with the number of followers climbing on her profile. She's beautiful and has a killer voice, it's not surprising that she's gained traction on YouTube and now Instagram. I expect her to never give up on making singing her career and doing so will surely allow her to make her dream a reality. The song was later followed up with an official release, titled "Turn Off The Lights", which sees both artists collaborate together again.

Directed by Suave Papi, there isn't really a lot for me to comment on when it comes to this music video. We watch the artists perform the song whilst having a fun time together. It's actually nice to see Marcus James in this music video since most DJs decide not to appear in visuals.

The performance piece is on point, Jessica Zraly sure knows how to perform. Not only is she stunning in her style and presence but her vocal ability is outstanding. She really allows this track to come alive with her vocals, and she sure captures the attention of every viewer, creating vibes we're all enjoying - she'd be amazing to see live on a stage.

As for the fun scenes, we watch them smash up watermelons with hammers, spray paint the title of the song on a tunnel wall, they also shake up champagne (or it could be prosecco) until the cork pops. They clearly had a brilliant time making this video and being together for this experience. Then we have the night scenes where they let off fireworks and sparklers.

It's all pretty cute, laid-back and simple. There's a lot of fun involved and you can't help but enjoy watching. On the other hand, there's not a lot to keep the viewers entertained, nothing progressive and nothing that keeps us watching until the very end.

Lonely Together (feat. Rita Ora) - Avicii |

Now, this is a collaboration I have been waiting to write up on my blog. It's been in the Top 10 of the UK chart for quite some time, so I've been waiting for the right moment. At this current time (the backdated time of this blog post, and even now), Camila Cabello has the UK number one with her song "Havana" featuring Young Thug; therefore opening my Chart Mondays review to the UK Top 10. This is at number eight (at the backdated date). It's an addicting song and a brilliant collaboration. Watch Rita Ora be all sultry whilst we watch a narrative of a couple moving through frozen scenes as they are "Lonely Together" in this music video to the Avicii song.

Avicii, real name Tim Bergling who is also known as Tim Berg, has had an amazing career to date and he continues to bring it with non-stop amazing music and collaborations. He's definitely one of the biggest DJs around, bringing in chart numbers from all over the world, which is certainly a rarity when it comes to artists who are DJs; only a few manage to draw in these sorts of chart hits. Featured on this track is the talented Rita Ora who stuns us with her incredible vocals. She truly brings it to this song and it certainly works with the music she has recently been releasing. Once again, she's on top form. This song managed to peak in the UK at number four, it's a shame it never quite got to the top spot. The song was written by Benjamin Levin, Ali Tamposi, Bergling, Brian Lee, Magnus August Høiberg, and Andrew Watt.

Directed by Levan Tsikurishvili & Phillip R Lopez, this music video has two parts, one's a full-on narrative and the other is a performance piece with Rita Ora. The latter certainly disappoints compared to the former, as the lighting is all wrong and she doesn't have her usual performance energy.

This is what's not so great. Rita Ora is usually a stunning performer, have you not seen "Your Song", just wow! Yet, in this, she doesn't have her usual flair, and it might be due to where the video is set and the lighting and the way it is filmed. There is a stark contrast, especially when intercut throughout the extremely clever narrative.

This story is defining in so many ways. How many times have you fallen in love with someone, so much so, that the world seems to stop whenever you are with that person? Gosh, don't we all know how that feels; and, damn, do I miss that right now. But, all of our times do come around, and it will happen again to me, no doubt.

I love how they capture images in this world where only time is moving for these two characters; it's a shame we don't get to see the photos they take. The two stars manage to convey that they're in love with one another and easily represent their relationship on screen. They're having fun and enjoying themselves - that's what we all want in life.

Overall, the music video has two totally different parts and usually this is what makes it good; however, this time around, the dark depths of the performance piece doesn't show off Rita Ora all that well, and when intercut with this amazing narrative, it all just falls a little on the short side. This so could have been epic; disappointingly, it isn't.

How Long - Charlie Puth |

OMG! Charlie Puth needs - and I mean really really really needs - a choreographer to sort him out. This feels too much like dad-dancing or the dancing from the unforgettable awkward scene in The Inbetweeners. However, there is a slight scene that saves the whole entire music video from being a total disaster - but more on that later. The song is a flat-out banging tune though, and I can so see it gaining momentum and becoming popular. I was saving this for Chart Mondays, but as it jumped into the top ten, Camila Cabello grabbed the top spot with "Havana" featuring Young Thug, and now this song is dropping down the UK chart, unfortunately. So here we are. Watch Charlie Puth dance through downtown Los Angeles in the street and inside a building in this music video for his song "How Long".

Charlie Puth is quickly becoming one of the biggest male artists in the world; he keeps releasing hit after hit after hit, and I have no doubt that his new album is going to be mighty popular. This song peaked at number nine in the UK, which is the exact same chart number that previous single "Attention" grabbed; both songs are addicting in every way and really shows that the new album is going to be something we all won't be able to get enough of. The song was written by Charlie Puth, Jacob Kasher, and Justin Franks.

Directed by Emil Nava, the music video is a pure performance piece that really shows Charlie Puth's confidence and stage dance ability - which isn't much. He isn't afraid of making a fool of himself, and this is what makes this music video a soon-to-be classic.

There are some amazing moves such as flying and wall climbing, which definitely switches up the music video; and, it is great that he can dance freely but there's just no connection to the song and it just comes off so embarrassing.

He's trying to be smooth, casual, and slick, but it comes off quite smarmy. It might've worked a bit better if he hadn't have been dressed in a suit, and the obvious product placement of the Dodge Challenger car suggests there was meant to be a narrative to the music video, especially since there is a love interest inside the car. People say it signifies the woman he got with, versus the woman in the painting who is the person he cheated on.

Overall, this music video has nothing to it, and even Charlie Puth admitted that he wanted to do something random. Music videos should represent the song and transform it into a visual experience for every viewer, and although there are some scenes that link in with this song, this just doesn't work as an overall concept.

Rockets - Samantha J. |

Chose this from YouTube Recommendations as I thought there wasn't going to be much to this music video; and, once again, I am surprised because this song is completely catchy in every way. It's not brilliant, but it's my sort of tune, so YouTube Recommendations for the win, yet again. Samantha J. is a rising artist who we must not get confused with Samantha Jade - there's just so many artists with similar names now. Her style, music, and confidence are definitely what will launch Samantha J. in every way. Watch Samantha J. be confident and sassy as she flirts with a guy in this music video for her song "Rockets".

Samantha J., real name Samantha Gonsalves, is a Jamaican model and singer-songwriter. She went viral with her international debut "Tight Skirt", she then followed that up with the Swedish and Norway chart-hit "Light It Up" where she provided the vocals for the Marcus & Martinus track. She's collaborated with some great rappers, and she's definitely taking large steps in the music industry. I suggest you note this woman's name because she is going to be big as she continues on this unstoppable journey. The song was written by Erik Smaaland and Kristoffer Chaka Tømmerbakke.

Directed by Tobias Myklebust Fjeldheim, this music video has a main performance piece set in two different scenes and an identifiable slight narrative. Samantha J. definitely keeps us entertained throughout. It was filmed in Oslo, Norway.

The narrative pretty much starts this video off, as we watch Samantha J. and her love interest flirt as they handle sparklers - which aren't fireworks like the song suggests, but they're close enough. I love the dancehall element of the song, and these scenes sure are showing off their acting skills bringing this flavour of a slightly new couple hanging out with friends.

The narrative continues right up to the end where they stumble across a pool and decide to dive in. This is also the setting where a few performance pieces take place, it's full of colour and really allows Samantha J. to shine.

However, it's her tunnel performance scene that really captures her energy and displays exactly how she would perform on a stage. She sure knows how to bring it. On the other hand, there's the male-attention grabbing scene in the milk bath, which takes some guts to do. I feel like she shouldn't have to stoop this low for a music video, but her confidence and boldness is certainly what is giving her the views. All it takes is some nerve, and that is certainly a ballsy move.

Overall, this music video works well with the song, it gets better the more times you watch it, so I suggest you click that replay button. The song is addicting and is currently stuck in my head, and the music video totally relates, and I guess it is kind of unforgettable.

Rise - NADINE |

Just a reminder to everyone, this has been backdated, so really it's 10 November, according to the date of this post, even though it's actually 26 November - that's how far behind I am on this blog, but I promise I will catch up. I'm actually really happy I've stumbled across this one. It's melodically haunting with NADINE bringing infectious vocals! Make sure you don't confuse her with Nadine Coyle though, who is also going mononymous as Nadine. Watch NADINE perform her new song in a church as she releases emotions on the track and feels every single lyric in the music video for "Rise".

NADINE, real name Nadine Furer, has recently released her third EP, titled RISE (on 23 November). She's making waves in her native country of Switzerland and her home country of the UK. Her vocals are shockingly brilliant, you wouldn't expect that gorgeous voice to come out of this female singer, and this is exactly how she is gaining traction. I'm actually interested in her other songs, especially after watching this music video and listening to this incredible track "Rise".

The music video was directed by Gareth Kay and was filmed at The Church of St John the Baptist, Hoxton, in London; which is mainly known as St John's Hoxton. It's a beautiful location that has really made this music video and NADINE pop.

It's a pure performance piece with NADINE fully using the whole church to create many different scenes. She has this enormous presence, especially when she sings, easily capturing every single viewer.

She brings it in and unleashes this incredible energy. This just works in every way. However, there's not a whole host of things going on, and it's all down to NADINE to keep the attention of the viewer from start to finish, and although she manages to do well, it's just not good enough. The scene with the piano does pique my interest a little bit.

The Town - Macklemore |

I've been eager to watch an older music video from Macklemore, so now that I've covered "Good Old Days" featuring Kesha, I thought it was the perfect excuse to delve into Macklemore's previous songs and pull this one out for my Thursday Revisit. It really does encompass the song's title and the lyrics. It's not surprising that he managed to build up his career if he was previously releasing treasures like this one. Watch Macklemore perform and present the town in his debut music video for his song "The Town".

Macklemore, real name Benjamin Haggerty, originally released this song and music video, along with a few others all before he became famous when he teamed up with Ryan Lewis. They've had a successful career to-date as a duo, but they are currently on hiatus as they pursue solo projects. This song's music video is Macklemore's debut video and has an air of "Good Old Days" to it, which has just been released in collaboration with Kesha - and is the sole reason I'm reviewing this today. The song hits us all in the heart emotionally from the very first verse; Macklemore can seriously write some amazing lyrics; like, WOW! This was worthy of being a hit, although there is only a simple melody and rhythm to the song; however, it's the lyrics themselves and Macklemore's delivery that makes this one we all need to treasure.

Directed by Zia Mohajerjasbi, this music video seriously is incredible. The town of Seattle is fully shown throughout the clips, the people, the city, the photos, the events, everything. Linking in perfectly with the song.

There's a performance piece with the city skyline behind Macklemore, and it has his usual energy. He really means every single word of this song, and it's so heartwarming to see that.

The main scene that makes an impression on all of us, is the table filled with flyers and photos that represent music from Seattle in every way. It's great to see this side of Macklemore, and his ability to flood a song like this with emotions. The lyrics are outstanding in every way, and it's great that the music video manages to represent the song totally.

Good Old Days (feat. Kesha) - Macklemore |

I actually thought I had already reviewed this, clearly, I haven't, so it's time to do this one. It's still in the UK chart, and I actually thought it would climb its way up and make it into the Top 10 so I could review it for Chart Mondays, however, that seems extremely unlikely, so I might as well cover it now since I adore this song and music video in every way. This was a killer collaboration, one that should've brought international chart success for both artists; it's sad that that didn't quite happen, but this will be one of my treasured songs, for sure. Watch Macklemore and Kesha live their lives freely and together in this cute music video for their song "Good Old Days".

Directed by Johnny Valencia, the music video has a laid-back theme to it just like the song. Really managing to capture "Good Old Days" in every sense of those three words.

Taking the lyrics and transforming a world around them, Kesha and Macklemore impress with their acting ability and vocal skills. There's an old camera used to capture some of the scenes, and it's clear they both got on really well with each other. They certainly make a great couple, and it's heart-warming to watch every single scene in this video.

There may not be much to this video, with it bringing some sort of hippie vibe, where they relax and take it back to the good old days. But, it perfectly relates to the song, bringing it everything we wanted and needed. This music video warms all of our hearts and makes us a little teary as we think of our good old days, as well as knowing how personal this is to Kesha's life since we all know she's going through some tough times, right now.

Enchante (Carine) [feat. Axl Jack] - Fergie |

I am still 17 days behind on my blog, and it's all Fergie's fault for dropping music video after music video - I managed to cover them all on CelebMix, including this one; in doing so, I fell behind on my blog, so I might as well just review her music videos on my blog too since she is the culprit. This is one of a few of my favourite songs from her brand new album, however, this music video is much more basic than her other videos. Watch Kendall Jenner go about various tasks as repetitions of her going forwards and backwards is constantly shown in Fergie's music video for "Enchanté (Carine)" featuring her son Axl Jack.

Fergie, real name Fergie Duhamel and previously Stacy Ferguson, is best known for being the female singer in the Black Eyed Peas. She previously went solo over ten years ago and has been working on her second studio album for a few years. To me, it is one of the best albums of the year, Double Dutchess shows off her versatility in every way. I pretty much like every single song on the album - which is rare for me. This one stands out because the song features her son Axl Jack. The song was written by Fergie Duhamel, Tal Meltzer, Philip Patterson, and David Riff.

This music video was released as part of the Double Dutchess Visual Experience, which sees all 13 tracks get a music video, bringing a visual experience album to her listeners and fans.

This is one of the most basic music videos, that certainly has inspiration from Instagram's Boomerang feature - which is becoming very popular at the moment in visuals. Kendall Jenner appears both as main characters and backing characters in this multi-Kendall-Jenner universe. This isn't the first time one of the Kardashian/Jenner's have been in a Fergie music video, Kim Kardashian featured in "M.I.L.F. $".

There's not a whole lot going on, just multiple Kendall Jenner going about her life, waking up, walking the dogs, getting ready, being in a meeting with various versions of herself, and then we go back through her routines.

What I can't fault this on, is her fashion and style. Kendall Jenner is on point all the way through this music video. Some surprising choices have been chosen, but she works them completely; totally showing off how great of a model she is.

Overall, the music video has nothing going for it, it doesn't really keep the audience entertained, and it certainly has a warped effect. Plus, could we really deal with multiple Kendall Jenners? This would be too many, however, imagine if you had multiple versions of yourself, you could literally stay in bed all day whilst they do everything else - that'll be the life.

Havana (feat. Young Thug) - Camila Cabello |

According to this backdated blog post, it is 6 November 2017, which means that during this week we had a brand new number one on the UK Singles Charts. Yes, that's right, Camila Cabello climbed her way up into first position, knocking "Rockstar" by Post Malone featuring 21 Savage off the top spot. It's been a steady climb for this single, but radio play sure pushed its success - plus it is undeniably catchy. As for the music video, there is a hell of a lot going on with multiple versions of Camila Cabello. I have not been looking forward to writing about this, but here goes. Watch Camila Cabello bring some Latin flair as she performs and acts in this music video for her song "Havana" featuring Young Thug.

Camila Cabello is mostly known for being the first member of Fifth Harmony to leave the girl group; the other girls have continued as a four-piece. All five girls auditioned on The X Factor (US) separately and came third, as a collective, in the second season. Camila Cabello has certainly made impressive strides in her solo career and it seems to have certainly paid off, especially by claiming the UK number one. She needs to keep on to this success though, as we've seen many reach this pivotal point, only to fall dramatically. This song is a collaboration with Young Thug, real name Jeffery Williams. He's had moderate success as an American rapper internationally, but nothing career-defining, unless you count this track. He has made his name known and has collaborated with a whole host of artists. He's bound to have a solo hit sometime soon. This song was written by Camila Cabello, Brittany Hazzard, Ali Tamposi, Brian Lee, Andrew Watt, Pharrell Williams, Jeffery Lamar Williams, Adam Feeney, and Louis Bell.

Directed by Dave Meyers, this music video is a full-on narrative piece with a performance piece set within the story. It's pretty much another film, which seems to be the way music videos are going at the moment. There's a long intro to this, that acts as a double intro, all before the music actually kicks in.

The video opens up with a telenovela. Camila Cabello walks into a bedroom where she sees her boyfriend Juan (played by Marco DelVecchio), and her best friend and the maid, in bed together, then the real Juan comes out of the closet and states that in bed is his twin brother, before he gets down on one knee and proposes. We flit to a couch where Camila Cabello is sitting watching the telenovela, which her grandmother then turns off using the remote.

This is where we see a full family storyline, we see Camila Cabello play Karla, LeJuan James playing the grandmother, and Lele Pons playing the sister, Bella. There's a chat around the table, mainly telling Karla to go out in the world and find life, rather than sitting at home watching telenovelas.

Karla later goes out to watch a film, titled "Camila in Havana". This acts as the main part of the music video, and Karla watches Camila Cabello perform in a club with various guys whilst wearing a stunning red fringed dress. The dancing is on point throughout, and we have to give kudos to the two guys dancing together - just yes!

There's a lot of flirting and teasing going on in the main part of the music video. Camila Cabello brings it for the performance piece, strutting her stuff and bringing all the energy needed. Unfortunately, Young Thug is overshadowed in every way, and we completely forget that he appears on the stage for his part - however, it is needed to break up the song.

Lastly, she follows a shadow outside and slaps this guy, and then lets him walk away because she loves herself more than she loves him; well, talk about being extra - to be fair, that's me all over though. Only Karla isn't happy with the ending, and says so; to which there's a fiction-to-reality moment where Camila tells Karla that if she doesn't like the ending, she should go out and write her own.

So, that's what happens, Karla goes outside and starts to dance like she saw in the movie, and a guy crashes his bike. They dance together on the street, and her sister spots them and she's so surprised. Not only that, but the grandmother seems to also know about it happening, back at the house.

It's a great music video, with the male love interest being played by Noah Centineo. However, the intro is very long but completely relatable to the theme of the song. It does have that Latin flair. I want to give it four stars because the intro is too long, but it deserves five, for sure.

Papa Don't Preach - Madonna |

I watched something the other day and there was a photo of Madonna, I actually think it was a YouTuber video; whatever it was, it made me realise that Madonna has a whole host of music videos, a massive range of visuals, and I haven't really delved that much into them. I haven't really covered Madonna on my blog much, mainly because I'm not a fan of hers, but also because I've been preoccupied with the current stars of the world. So it's time to jump into this song and video. I actually identify the song with Kelly Osbourne, since she covered it as her debut single, under the same name "Papa Don't Preach". Watch Madonna walk around New York, fall in love with a guy, and tell her father that she's keeping the baby with visuals of her childhood in this music video for her song "Papa Don't Preach".

Madonna, full name Madonna Ciccone, is one of the biggest, if not the biggest, female singers in the world. Her career has been lengthy, to say the least. She's been going for many decades and has kept up-to-date with the music in each era and managed to stay current with every new release. Not many singers have been able to do just that. As of 2017, she doesn't have any plans to release new music, although I reckon she'll make a return sometime soon, and it's bound to be massive since her last few singles didn't do as well as everyone had hoped, although the album Rebel Heart did amazingly. This song was released in 1986 and hit number one in many countries around the world. It was written by Brian Elliot and Madonna.

Directed by James Foley, this music video shows Madonna off with a tomboy look. It's intersected with a much sexier Madonna, showing two sides of her in this music video - she literally made tomboys current and fashionable. Madonna definitely had that ability back then.

It is mainly a performance piece. We watch her relationship with her father as she grows up, with her dad being played by actor Danny Aiello. The narrative plays out as we continue to watch how Madonna meets this guy who later becomes the father of the child she is carrying. Her love interest is played by actor Alex McArthur.

Various scenes correlate to the actual lyrics of the song, and the ending is adorable, how the father finally accepts what she has told him and rather than staying mad, he breaks the ice and embraces her in a hug.

As for the performance piece, Madonna sure knows how to release energy, however, it does feel distant compared to the song and the music video. The story has this massive impact on every single viewer, that the performance piece becomes a distraction, something we don't want to watch. But, because the narrative is so strong, I have to give it this rating.
